Rumor: Steelers looking to trade for WR

We've bamboozled the Bears before (Claypool = JPJ; Fields), maybe we can do it again? (Maybe not; they're in the thick of the NFCN and out of Moore, Odunze, and the rook Burden, they're not letting anyone go.)

I was surprised Roc Taylor wasn't even signed to the PS after camp/preseason. Big dude, showed promise. He might've developed into a solid rotational piece and maybe even a good option at #2. But the rumor was he was in Tomlin's doghouse?

Evidently Berm was in on that blunt:ROFLMAO: Only WR with worse hands than Pat.
I'm out on Brown
We already grossly overpaid for a WR
Simultaneously trading a younger more talented guy who was paid nothing in comparison.
Grossly overpaying another older WR to the tune of 30+ million would be insane.
Bengals are the perfect example of what not to do.
Two huge WR contracts with a suspect O-line.
No thank you

Honestly, would you "drop" the Freiermuth has bad hands narrative... there is absolutely nothing that supports it. His drop rate % is lower than Kelce or Kittle or Bowers or like any of the top TE's... his Catch% is right with all those guys too.
The narratives around that guy are utterly preposterous
Yeah he isnt a great blocker, but a lot of the pass catching TEs suck at that too... yes in 2023 he got called out for routerunning, but he was also really hurt that year. That wasnt his norm. He is going to give you 60+ catches in what has been a crappy offense.

Right now he cant get snaps cause they traded for a Pro bowl TE who is basically an oversized wr who is eating up the passing down snaps, and he certainly isnt taking blocking snaps from Washington and he isnt a Hback type like Cam jr...

He is a redundant Passcatching TE on a run first team. They probably should have dealt him if Smith was goinna push him to 2nd string a d we were gonna play with 6 ol much of the game

Here's a crazy option:

And I like the Legette pitch BTW; but...

FACT - we need a WR that can -

1. Get open and separate quickly
2. Catch the ball when it's thrown to him (not trying to offend any gender-nazi believers with the 'him' pronoun)

So, who would Berm be calling RIGHT NOW???

Breathe

And go: DIONTAE JOHNSON
Didn't he have a issue with actually catching the football over the course of a few seasons? I guess with A A Ron thowing the ball and with Tomlin's coaching....that issue of his would just.....disappear.🤔

and when he runs backwards A A Ron is gonna kick his ***
You know what....bring him aboard. I simply just want to see this!!!🤪

Entertainment value brings more than the value of cost.!

Maybe there's a reason no one is wearing 84 this year.

I thought it was still “sold out” from when he was here……….. OH, WAIT….. that was #18

i mentioned trading for Legette a week or so ago. Some fool named NoKap tried to wrap his vagina wings around it saying it was a bad idea.
If you think this team is capable of not skipping a beat should DK go down with Legette as a #2 even after admitting he can't run routes, is being phased out of the current offense that he's in, and is currently 8th in receiving stats for the Panthers then you keep doing what stupid does you moron. Even the article you brought to our attention that suggested him as an option referred to him as a "reclamation project". Don't complain when you get exactly what you asked for if he shows up. Another guy you cant use, or rarely use, wasting valuable roster space.

No doubt hope springs eternal on these mid-season trades. You have young receivers get a veteran qb and same for young qbs get a good veteran wr. Im just thinking leggette with Rodgers might flourish without all the pressure of carrying the offense on his shoulders. Leggette was a late bloomer in college. No reason to think he could single handedly turn around a horrible offense like Carolina’s without lots of help. They had no other WRs no passing game and erratic qb play. The dude is a stud! Big and fast give him time with Rodgers. The thing is, the clocks ticking with Rodgers we be luck get 2 years with him we’d be smart to get as much from him as we can so the next qb steps into a rose garden not the dog **** end of the yard.

Lazard helps. Legette could be special with a non-midget throwing to him, but it's a 6th for Lazard, who is 6"2 220 and plays faster than his 4.5 time. With Lazard and when you go to go 3 WR 1 Te and Warren as a TB, you can allow Austin when back to run those crossers, where the slot and the te Smith both run inside crosses, and DK runs deep in the clear-out room, and you can get Lazard to run a deep 15 curl.
Nah... yes he had chemistry but we need a WR that can separate immediately and get open fast.

An interesting video popped yesterday...

Apparently, the Chiefs may offload Thorton, Brown or JuJu with the return of Rice. He was a Rat before but he had AB blood - I'd see what they want for Brown...

I doubt any trade takes place. But the front office always scours the scrap heap. We will find the answer there. Tomlins offense chews with its mouth closed.

and that is all anyone has ever said about him. I've never, not once, not ever, said he would step right in and be a 2.
unless we gut the team or trade away prime draft picks, we're NOT going to find a #2 WR.

Legette has talent. And Carolina isnt exactly developing talent.

****, they had Baker Mayfield on their practice squad and Sam Darnold at the same time.

Sometimes, smoothbrain, you have to look a little into things.

If you're trying to go all in you don't grab reclamation projects off the scrap heap though. I guess i need to know what your expectations are for this team this year to know if i would agree with your philosophy. Do you think this team is legit?? or do you think they are another one and done and are just waiting for the annual collapse?? If so, why not Leggette...but if you think this team is legit you gotta go get a legit #2 or a better yet a legit LT especially if you plan to offer Muth as a carrot which they should. You either need a better than average OL to help average rbs become better and give average WRs time to get open, or you a need a better than average WR who gets open immediately to help a average OL and a twilight QB.

I don't have to answer to you, but for the sake of conversation...

I remember eons ago when a team was giving up on a young RB. he was traded elsewhere and had a kinda good career. And not to say Legette is on his same talent level, but he can be potentially had for cheap (first priority of this FO), has talent and size you can not teach. Is he topped off on his talent? Hardly. is he worth trading for to see if we can revitalize his career? Absolutely. About the only position we develop talent is WR.

This team is oozing with talent on the defensive side. Coaching wise, not so much.
Offensively, we need a new OL Coach.
Ultimately, the team is simply not going to win another Lombardi under Tomlin. Possible, but highly unlikely.

I'm all for getting as much talent on the roster as we can so that there is simply zero excuse for Tomlin to have a scapegoat to fire after the season.
