This means that time is running out quickly. The play looked to be about 13 yards, to the 47. He has to try and get at least to the 38 for a 55yd FG attempt. I would guess that takes another 4-6 seconds to get the yardage and down by contact. That means that EVERYONE has to get 22yds down field and set so Wilson can spike the ball, all in 5-7 seconds. No way in heil does that happen. Pickens and his bad attitude would not have done it, let alone in that limited time.

I think the most tell tale sign is nothing ever gets better. It looks the same week after labour day and of course worse with injuries setting in.

Definitely correct. That said I thought this team would be in position where signing Wilson and grabbing some weapons would make for a very exciting offseason. Instead back to groundhog day and basically I will just be happy it's over next week.

Yes, it would’ve helped get a win, but in the grand scheme this is wrong. Hitting a deep ball and pulling out a scrappy win is exactly why this team is stuck in this cycle of mediocrity. They do just enough to beat bad and middle teams, but get their butts whooped by good teams.
