Russell Failed His Audition

Many on this board would be screaming bloody murder if Wilson had the night that Darnold and Goff are having.

I get what you're saying, but these two teams are battling for first place in the NFC. Coming into tonight's game, Darnold had 35 TD passes and Goff 36 TD passes. Just not comparable at all to what the Steelers QBs and offense have produced over the course of the season.

Uh huh, and they have some really good OL, receivers and TEs on the field.

Russell Wilson has definitely FAILED at QB for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

It's not all his fault but he's a big part of the reason this team is struggling to score points. His decision making is poor and his accuracy on his throws is off!

Top that off with an incompetent OC who won't run pass plays over the middle of the football field & Head Coach who never has his team ready to start a game and you have an incoming DISASTER!

Time to give Justin Fields a chance next year!

Russ is not the long term solution.
I also think he is the least of our problems on offense.
OC is worse than Matt Canada
Run game is as bad as its ever been
Both tackles are trash
Pickens choked, Friermuth is no Miller and we have little else.

The Steelers offense mirrors the defense, when the 1 star doesn't play well we get embarrassed.

There is not a QB in the league that could win anything with this offensive cast of coaches and never will be level skill guys.

To be fair, even the great Ben Roethlisberger the Coach Tomlin lead teams couldn't sniff a playoff win with this inept offensive scheme. What makes you, or anyone believe Justin Fields would fare better? Granted, there would be more runs by Justin and he adds a nice wrinkle that Russ kinda does on a lesser level and Ben really didn't have. In fact, it was comical when he did run for a lengthily score.

Like Ben, Russell is on the backend of his career and he's waning a bit athletically. Fields needs some development, and I just don't see Pittsburgh's coaching staff being able to do that, especially in this offensive scheme.

Until they hire a great offensive coordinator and offensive line coach it doesn’t matter who the qb is…I mean let’s get real here… we had Ben Roethlisberger and Tomlin didn’t win in the playoffs. We need a top shelf OC and line coach… period!!! they have more than enough talent here to win… the Rooney’s just need to get them here. Smith and Austin need to go on the tomlin scrap heap of ex coaches and coordinators who didn’t cut it. Oh btw The heap is getting huge!!

According to a story on this site we are getting Aaron Rodgers...so we will be whole next year.............

" Obviously shifting some of the 'crazy component' from the wide receiver room to the quarterback room should be on our agenda as we prepare for our 2025 journey. Aaron comes in with great pedigree, his resume speaks for itself. As I told Mr. Rooney in our meetings in preparation for our upcoming campaign ' Think of how much we'll save on COVID vaccines alone.' There's a fine line between squashing grapes and drinking wine, but Aaron has shown that squashing and taking your own herbs mixed with horse medicine is even better than those two things. And for those of you who think I'm leaving after securing the Aaron Rodgers victory: There isn't a COVID booster with a big enough syringe to separate me from Aaron......never say never, but never. And speaking of never separating: Where's Rooney with my check?"

I would rather Ben come out of retirement

Russ is cookin'?
Russ is cooked, boys and girls.

We should have kept Fields in.
He was 4-2 and looking like he was starting to get comfortable.
So of course Coach Infinite Wisdom benches Fields because :

1) Russ has incriminating photos of Tomlin and A.Smith
2) Fields rejected their sexual advances
3) Some other mysterious reason we're not privy to

Russ is mid 30s and declining rapidly.
Fields is mid 20s and was looking serviceable.
NOT saying Fields is the next coming, but maybe see if he could be the answer going forward since Russ lost his fight to the sled and Fields wasn't 0-6......?

I don't know. I wanted Fields to play until the bye week, but the move to Russ seemed right looking back on the season. I'm not sure Fields makes the plays they needed to beat Washington. No way he outduels Joe Burrow to beat Cincinnati in that shootout. Pure speculation, but I think the Steelers would've been lucky to get to 9-8 if Fields started the entire season.

Or Wilson passed for 400+ yards a little over a month ago. Fields has never thrown for 400 yards in his career.

Against a **** CIN defense, and couldn't repeat it last weekend when he looked like trash.

Meanwhile, Wilson was a turnover and sack machine who never targeted the middle of the field and had bewildering fumbles only the Three Stooges could applaud, including personally ensuring we lost against BAL last contest.

I witnessed this in person on Christmas day, from the 3rd row right behind his *** falling. It looked far worse in person. He was utterly lost.

are you ******** me right now. do you mean numbers like these

V Bengals 17 of 31 148 yrds 4.8 avg 1 td and 4 sacks
V chiefs 23 of 37 205 yrds 5.5 avg 0 tds 1 pick, 1 ;ost fumble and 5 sacks

Russ has scored 30 points or more only twice since he took over. he has scored less than 20 points 6 out of 11 games. he has taken sacks that a third year QB would not have taken He has accounted for TEN turn overs in 11 games, and has produces only eighteen total TD's in 11 games. he has been sacked 33 times in which some of those actually cost us points.

In Goeffs last 11 games he has produced 29 TD passes agains 14 turnovers and five of those came in one game. and he has only been sacked 22 times. Goeff was playing a 14-2 team Sunday yep he had two picks but he was also 27 of 33 on the day.

Darnolds numbers in the last 11 games crush Wilsons numbers also.

so we should already be screaming bloody murder if we are comparing Wilson to either one of those two. lets also not forget both of those teams were 14-2 Sunday night and damn near every starter for detroits defense was injured.

Wilson is now a second rate QB and the Steelers have lost their ever loving minds if they offer him 10 cents next year.

Big deal Wilson has also never passed for 500 yards Ben did it FOUR times, Wilson has never had a six TD game, Ben did twice in back to back games. see I can compare players too.
