Russian gas pipeline explodes

When people (especially liberals) learn that I have Native American heritage they automatically assume that I have some grudge against our country. I do not. I love this country, and I have done very well living in it. What ever happened hundreds of years ago has nothing to do with me. And what I have learned about my particular tribe is that we were very violent, even to other tribes. We were the Flat Foot Tribe and we no longer exist. I didn't miss spell it. We were the Flat Foot Tribe and lived in southern PA. Anyway, my point is that most people don't care about the past, and just want what's good for their families. And I dont want to be compensated.
I deal with a very large population of Northern Arapahoe, Cheyenne, Lakota and Dakota. They also have personal pride, and no grudges, for the most part. People are people.

From one human to another, great respect.

How do you define a human?

One of the greatest quotes I ever heard, I was watching a program about Memorial's being... whatever memorials are when they're introduced to the public.
This was a program about Little Bighorn, Custer battlefield, (if you're a native, I guess they call it the Battle of the Greasy Grass?) Which is kind of cool. and course there's a obelisk for the for the soldiers and then the natives have built this amazing earthworks kind of monument in the ground.
Anyway, during the christening or whatever, a native speaker was talking and he said this amazing quote something the effect of "We're American Indians and we're proud that the AMERICAN part comes first."
I'm paraphrasing, but that was essentially it. And it was awesome!

Just as we never carried a grudge towards the US despite my families tough go. Especially for my great grandma and my grandpa. Most of us whether Native, Japanese, Irish have all endured some type of prejudice in the past but have been able to move on and create strong communities.

It’s a very loud few who spread hate and demand laughable payments

Liberals seem to carry some chip on their shoulder and want reparations etc for stuff nobody present day had no control over.

And Japanese are prejudice towards the Ainu to this day. I am proud of my Japanese ancestry but even we have hostility. Everyone does.

Point getting across though is most of us despite differences can be civil.
Then there are those who use those minority labels and abuse them to feel entitled

Also the Dims create grievance groups out of thin air, trans people are the latest, then tell them they have to vote for Democrats to address their grievances and protect their rights.
I can't claim much discrimination in my life, was denied a promotion once because the department had too many white males already, but my grandfather Americanized the family name so it looked less Italian. Common practice in the early 1900's due to prejudice against Italians.

Not surprised . That sucks to lose to some family history like that.

My grandpa never taught any of us japanese for similar reasons. Although one of my aunties did learn it and my dad taught me a bit of what he knew.

I read about the irish facing discrimination I had no idea Italians did as well. Interesting.

I'm prejudiced against Ogres.
**** 'em

My grandfather was first generation American but he wouldn’t speak Italian or teach us. Also he refused to eat pizza, claimed it was bastardized in America and not real pizza. I can remember my Italian great-grandfather, he died when I was 8.
The largest mass lynching in America was 11 Italian men who were hung in New Orleans in 1891.
