Sean Spence gets clean bill of Health

Sounds like an extra free draft choice to me.

Sounds like 2 missed injury filled seasons to me. At least he is young. I think he is the same age as J. Jones.

Glad to hear the kid has beaten the odds and is recovering better than anyone ever expected. I would not count on him being able to play football again but it sure would be nice if he becomes the player he was before the injury. The big advantage he may have is lots of time studying the defense as he was supposedly a player that was the first one moving on the defense when in college, so maybe he is a player that reads and reacts quickly. It has been a long time since the steelers had a Rocky Blier type player maybe this guy is the next one to over come long odds.

Best of luck Spense, with all the waiting for him to get better maybe his nick name should be suspense. It is nice that the Steelers kept the kid around and took care of him through the injury, many teams would have negotiated a low ball injury settlement and by the time the kids lawyer got done with it he'd be left out to dry and unable to get the care he needed. Hope he is successful.

Thanks for the posting video Tibs I have never seen that one before. The kid sure did seem to spend a lot of time on the other teams side of the line and managed to still be effective when engaged by other players. It would be nice if he was able to play like that in the NFL.

Good luck to you Sean Spence. I hope you contribute in a big way for us this year. You deserve all the success that comes your way.

Great I wish him well and I hope our coaching staff gets a look at him before the draft to at least see what he might be able to contribute this year. If he looks good push ILB need down if he looks slow keep it where it's at.

ILB "need" won't be determined by Spencer. There is no way they can evaluate him before the draft and reasonably conclude he is the starting ILB. Also even if they believed that and a stud ILB was there in a value spot I would hope they'd stick to their board and take him. Same with any position. Just because they signed Moore doesn't push WR down.

This is correct. However, we do know that there is little depth at inside linebacker in the draft. Not sure how many prospects are substantially better than what we already have at ILB.

Spencer, Spence, I've heard it both ways.

I hope he gets a chance this year and stays healthy. He could be a major plus for us this year and moving forward.

After seeing the video - I wonder if he can play to SS???

Anyway, all the best Sean - I hope you show your worth this season!!!

Here's hoping he's ready to go and able to contribute.

I hope he does super great. Can he live up to expectations? Hope we find out! As said, time will tell and I'm wanting his time to be VERY positive.

It would be great for the young man and the Steelers if he was able to contribute. Good luck Spence!

This young man has a great pedigree, if you will.

Obviously there is only so much you can tell from watching football in shorts.

But he is a football player, we like what we see, obviously.

The arrow is pointing up, and we expect him to respond when his number is called and unleash hell.

trade him to the Cowgirls while they lack an oft-injured ILB.

This kid may be worth the investment of time and money. He is still fast according to the observers and shows up fast. He has studied the defense while he was recovering. There is reason to have a bright rather than bleak outlook for him.

I could see a trade. We have Spence, Williams and Zumwalt so we might have enough depth and instead of a cut a trade.

If he actually makes it back from his injury and becomes a starter caliber player I could see him being kept with shazier while Timmons leaves the team after his current contract ends. The team would still need a thumper in the middle though.
I think the team won't extend Timmons as the new philosophy is to get younger and younger (thus cheaper)
