So, who is it?

When I see Austin’s 12 plays on his play card and there is still confusion on where to be on the 12 plays we run I wonder…how the hell is this happening?

You’d think with such a small batch of predictable plays that if the offense knows all of our defensive player assignments maybe our defenders would too by week 17!

The only thing that can cover this problem is massive pressure and forcing turnovers, without both of those the D will continually be exposed for what it is.

Im not sure about Minkah he has been a pretty vocal leader in the past, but he may be disgruntled with the way he is being used and just going through the motions. That one year he was basically playing MLB having to tackle RBs constantly because our true MLBs stunk. Minkah might also be trying to do too much instead of sticking with his responsibility. Regardless the scheme is terrible and way too easy for opposing NFL coaches. Of course the players are not perfect, but they are not being put in positions to succeed.

I thiink they mean that 10 people are doing the job on any given play, but 1 person doesnt. not the same player every play. I player of the 11 on any given play

1 guy can't cover everyone there are so many wide open receivers running around on each play it can't be 1 guy out of position or not doing his job this is a team wide break down .This goes back to the simple fact they have reached the standard for the year. .they just don't care

Maybe the guys don’t feel right going to battle
with the woman beater who is blowing coverages taboot. It’s not like Sutton is in a long term deal and can’t be benched…
and at least Beanie, even while making young guy mistakes, was at least getting some TOs.

The issue on D is it doesnt generate the pass rush needed for austin's man press stuff... and they play mincah super far back to try to mitigate the deep **** if the pass rush fails

This isnt a talent issue.. we just run a really basic pass rush scheme. Its not exotic blitzes or coverage... good offenses can key on a couple things and know when to take their shots...
the olbs are gonna rush around the edge... the dl will try to run stop on tge way to the QB
The ilbs almost never blitz...
safeties and cbs rarely if ever blitz
And they still can't communicate. It's fascinating. That is an excuse if I never hear again it will be too soon.

The problem was Kelce. Who was supposed to be on him. Idk.. but im thinking sutton.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t that supposed to be one of Patrick Queen’s roles when signed?

I guess I’ve not been paying attention to this calling out one player situation. Just started reading about it. And apparently it’s been going on for a few games now? My question is. If there is one player that is not doing his job like Cam said,(and apparently others?) why was this particular player not put on the bench? Like instantly?

Or is this all speculation?

I think it may be Minkah that Cam is referring to. He had an issue in Miami, when he wasn’t being schemed to get the highlight plays. The rumor was that he wanted to seen as a ball hawk. Initially when he got here, since he really wasn’t up to speed on the D, they allowed him to roam. Then as it became obvious that the ILB’s were a weakness, he was forced to cover for then, which meant no highlight reels. Now as he is seeing contract time coming up, he is worried that he won’t get top dollar, and trying to highlight reels. The problem with that is he seems to be trying too hard and playing outside of what is expected of his schemed position. Add in the fact that the D scheme itself is awful and highly predictable, it seems that he feels even more worried about that next contract.

I don't see where there's a single player at fault. It seems to me (and that is not 20/20) that the entire D is not on the same page. Players have to know exactly what they are responsible for and that's it.

A lineman doesn't need to be concerned with what a safety is doing. They need to focus on stopping the run or sacking the QB, that's it and that's all, at least in my opinion which isn't worth more than a couple bits and bytes.
