Solutions to NFL dilemma?

Why?

Again, I understand what you are saying. But my point has been with all of the righteous indignation and condescending going on over this situation, how football isn't that important and it's about life and all that, if they truly believe that, there should be no complaints with whatever the NFL does from anybody. This is an extraordinary situation as we have been told time and time again.
It’s two separate things. The NFLs decision has no bearing at all on Hamlin’s health and nobody is calling for the cancellation of the rest of the NFL season so the solution to the problem is still relevant.

The NFL could have just determined the outcome of the Bengals-Bills game and let the playoffs play out as the rules are designed. They are now upending the AFC playoffs for ONE out of 272 regular season games. They’ve lost perspective.

Reading all these different scenarios from you guys. It’s giving me a headache.
Simple fair solution. Have all the AFC teams play knockout tournament style at one venue.

Might I Suggest BC Place stadium In Vancouver BC. Great for our tourism,American dollars get 30% more bang for your buck....Beaches and world class skiing 1 hour apart......beautiful woman.....and I promise to wear my Mel Blount jersey to every single game.

Vancouver and Victoria are on my travel bucket list.

The Ravens really got ****** in all of this. Stripped of any chance of a division title and the #3 seed, they would possibly have to win a coin flip just to play a home game against the Bengals, even if they beat them twice in the regular season.

The guy is alive and improving in the hospital, not dead. The NFL bent over backwards during COVID, playing games on all days of the week just to make sure the "competitive balance" of a complete schedule was maintained, yet they can't get this one game with huge playoff implications finalized?

I am. I am so damn sick of this stuff for show all the time. Let's put on a good act like we are so concerned for this young man, we are going to cancel a game, we are gonna show everyone we are such good, caring people. We are better than you. Well, don't stop there. Go all the way if you really think you are so much more enlightened.

The bottom line is the NFL should have never cancelled the game. They should have played it. But they caved to the woke bullshiit they knew they were gonna get had they played. Then everyone has to condescend to the great unwashed, us fans...but then when they are done with that, they will complain how unfair the situation might be for some teams. Who should give a damn about a little unfair when we are talking about life? When a child somewhere dies of cancer, should I complain because I have a sore knee?

I’m with you in that they shouldn’t have cancelled the game, or they at least should have determined a winner or a tie.

Another alternative would have been to reschedule the Bengals and Bills to play out the first half (a little over a quarter) and use that to determine the outcome - win, lose or draw. That way they couldn’t complain about not having advanced knowledge that the game was about to end or having to play 7+ quarters in however few days.

If that same thing happened to the Steelers Id be livid… IIRC if the Ravens won on Sunday, and lets be fair, tgey most likely will not, the only difference between the Bengals record and the Ravens is that the Ravens played and lost vs the Bills while the Bengals only played a quarter vs them then had the game stricken from the books… hey, after one quarter, the Ravens were leading the Bills 14-3… then ultimately lost by 3

Ravens vs Steelers 1-1
Ravens vs Browns 1-1
Bungles vs Steelers 1-1
Bungles vs Browns 1-1
If Bungles vs Ravens ended up 2-0 for tge Ravens, Cinci should not get the Division title based solely on an incomplete game…
I don't disagree with you. But I see those as two clubs heading in completely opposite directions. If they can beat the Bengals on Sunday I agree with the argument. If its the same team the Steelers faced they will get 20 pieced.

They sure did.....:)

The fairest thing would be to play it In Indianapolis … that should be about 7 or 8 hours from both cities…
The worse thing they could do is play it in Cinci and invoke images of the injury all game long
The coolest thing they could do for Pittsburgh is play it here… free tailgate with no emotional ties.
The coldest but probably most fitting thing they could do is play the game in Cleveland, then they could have the first playoff game ever in that stadium not even have the Browns in it lol
Indy makes sense in terms of location, but it's playoff football. No one wants to watch the Chiefs and Bills, two outdoor teams, play in some sterile dome if it comes down to it. Pittsburgh or Cleveland should be the choice, IMO.

Cinci is now bitching about the solution because they wanted the division and hfa handed to them… go beat the Ratbirds you entitled bums… i hope that whole team catches some exotic jock itch

Not playing the game seems effed up to me. I’m not saying they needed to finish it that day, and I’m sure this has been mentioned many times, but if the guy had been completely paralyzed they likely play it out Monday night.
