Sounds like Trubisky is taking hold of QB1 Job

*Sigh* Go enjoy your holiday.... Admit that what I said, the product that is "Benny Snell football" got it's start at UK, at a patent office in Lexington... Benny Snell, the person may very well have been born in OH.... I didn't mention the person... I simply stated that "Benny Snell football," the product which was sold to the Steelers for millions of dollars (I'm pretty sure there's a law against selling people....) started there. If you have to spin and contort to make yourself feel good, have at it...
I'd rather be Kentucky slick, than Buckeye slime....
Geez, you are going above and beyond to insult the good guys.

What holler did you crawl outta, and who pissed on yer bango?

I know the story... repeating it doesn't change the fact that both answers cannot be the primary reason... Primary means "single most important..." There's more trolling in your name-calling and fandom challenging than in my initial reply, so I don't need to troll to make minced meat of your "point..." Two can't be one.... you dimtwit.... Claiming that sitting a rookie QB is franchise philosophy is myopic and anecdotal, at best, "you smeller of other people's bottoms.... I blow my nose at you...."
Going back 30 years at least, what qb have they drafted that didn’t immediately start out as the #3 qb?

Its not even about starting… barring injury they dont even make rookie qbs #2’s
They did with niel O’Donnell his rookie year and when Brister blew O’Donnell wasn’t much better cause he wasn’t really ready yet and since then you had to pay your dues at the position from the ground up

Do you know how Pickett gets the backup spot this year without an injury? Chris O plays his way onto the team as the third QB and they trade Rudolph… which is a very realistic possibility

Salute the nation

You get other people to do your research for you?? That's not respectable....

Or, things go how Tomlin said before Trubiski was acquired and when Pickett wasn't even a twinkle in Tomlin's eye... "Iron will sharpen iron at Latrobe..." The Steelers brought in Mitchie to be iron to sharpen the iron that is Kenny Pickens. The Steelers have the best backup quarterback in the NFL (Rudolph). That position's been filled. Whoever doesn't start, will be #3... I now see that it was never the intention of the Steelers to start Rudolph... He was brought in to play the exact position he played (backup for Ben...) He wasn't drafted in the second round to replace Ben... Even Ben was surprised, as he's said, because he thought a third round QB was enough to replace him... But as has been seen, a first rounder was needed to replace him... but a second rounder (Rudolph) was needed to back him up.....

Where, exactly is the insult?? Buckeyes are slimey once you pop the cap off an acorn.... You are insulting actual people by calling them tree parts... IIRC, I wished the person an enjoyable weekend...

You are right he wasn't drafted in the second round to replace Ben, as he was drafted in the third round.

Whatever you are trying to get at he was drafted for future starting potential. You don't draft a player in round 1 - 3 to be a backup. The intention is to find starters in that range which Colbert mentioned in one of his interviews.

Really? Based on what? His stellar performance in a tie at home against the winless Lions, where he posted a 70.6 passer rating? Or was it the 35 yards on 8 attempts in mop-up duty against the Chiefs that gave you this impression? Anyway, it's not very smart to use extreme superlatives (like "best") when debating a point, now is it? Some assh*le tried to tell me that once. Oh, wait, that was you.

I'd say that Trey Lance, not Mason Rudolph, would be the overwhelming choice for the best backup quarterback by most rational NFL followers, if they had to choose.

That's why I said Ben said it... I wasn't sure, so I brilliantly employed the Cunningham technique to confirm it... Maybe look that up, it saves room in your brain, so you can remember your first date... On second thought, nevermind; but it might help you remember your gerbil's name....

Thanks for reminding me why he is a bad fit as a starter... How many times did he come in, eat clock, and lead a game-winning score?? I know people whined about some scores not being touchdowns; but they still haven't grasped the quantitative, binary fact that football scores are completely binary: W or L... well there are RARELY ties, but folks who make those their primary concern are doomed to failure....

I can't think of anyone who wants a single gram of your ****... (And you never would have posted if that was the case.... you really shouldn't lie.....)
The first three words in that post are the only ones that matter

damn who the hell do you think you are?

well to spell it out for you, you are nobody. no one cares and you certainly are not impressing anyone with your football knowledge or intellectual abilities

tone the idiocy down or freaking leave

sure it is the offseason but if you are going to troll try to be amusing

I use Google every day I know how to use it well. It is you that can use the practice. Like looking up something before you throw out dipsh!t comments. Last time I looked at a bathroom stall it had written in crayon call Bob aka real spaz864 for a good time or simply just stick your d!ck in the hole. You are one sick ******.

Ummm, the backup quarterback's job is not only to come off the bench when needed during a game, but also to play entire games in the starter's absence. See, he backs up the guy who starts, and when the starter can't start, he does. I know, I know...that's really hard to follow.

Thanks for reminding me what a stupid asswipe you are.

Hello?? It's 2022... you're stuck in the old Bruce Arians, Ken Whisenhunt, Mike Mularkey offenses... This is the Matt Canada offense, where Mason Rudolph's role is as different from Mitch Trubisky's role (Mason and Mitch's role are QB2a and QB2b, I guess...), as Dan Moore's LT is different from Chuks Okorafor's RT.... Get that thinkin' into mid-season (THIS mid-season...) shape... No Lazyboy-time for your brain.... although your base language tells me I'm gonna hafta do some heavy liftin' to carry y'all to upper tier thinkin' this season....
