Steeler fans...if the Stains draft Manziel what will be your response?

I was a bit curious as to who was going to be chasing him this season as well. We are not looking at Woodley and Harrison off the edge of a few years ago, coupled with a good cross fire blitz or pressure from Aaron Smith, Casey Hampton, and Brett Kiesel. Right now our line backers look like a lot of questions and hope, Our line is even more uncertain and our edge rushers have yet to combine for numbers that are respectable. Things could develop and turn into something but we are not looking at a strong defense or offense based on last years results or the year before.

we have Jones and Worilds bringing the heat we are set!

errr (Steelers if a slippage as a pass rusher falls take him please !)

I'll be furious.. I don't wanna see my boy in our division

Do you think he will be able to play like Russell Wilson? If so, then I would be concerned.

Talking about the 4 spot in the first round :
If they draft him I shrug it off and come to the realization that Cleveland hasn't learned anything since coming back into the league in '99.
If they don't draft him at four, and they take one of the blue chippers ( Matthews, Watkins, Mack ) then I fear they may be on the way to righting their ship and actually being competitive again.

If they draft him at 23 with their second 1st rounder?
I still think he's going to bust like double D's in a B bra, but it may be OK value at that point.

I don't get the feeling they're taking him, though.
I see them taking a QB with the 2nd rounder, a project to learn for a year or two, behind the retreads they just signed and Hoyer.

I would prefer the Browns to draft Manziel than Sammy Watkins if he is available. Manziel may turn out to be good if not great
but he won't be either immediately. Watkins will be a stud sooner than later. I would hate for our secondary to have to defend
Watkins, Josh Gordon, and Cameron Jordan. For those that think the Browns don't have a decent qb already. Let us not
forget Brian Hoyer. He was playing very well before the injury last season. Manziel doesn't scare me as much as Watkins.
Manziel has boom or bust potential.

He's a good football player. I think he makes them better and they can't pass on a good football player but at #4 they are going to get a good football player unless they grab a bust. I don't think Manziel will be a bust.

Johnny Football won't make it out of the top 10.
Like Hines said, I don't see him as a bust. I see him as either being a good player once he adjusts to the NFL.
There's really not a guy to compare his style of play to in NFL past, other than Fran Tarkenton. Tarkenton was taken in the 3rd round, though. Though he was the 29th overall pick, which today would still make him a 1st rounder.

I would assume that most will say it's the Browns, they are going to suck no matter what...lol. For me, I will not be overly excited about it. I think he is going to be really good and I would prefer he be outside our division. Thoughts?

1. Who is he going to throw to?
2. Who is going to block for him?

If the Browns draft Johnny Football, they will find a way to screw him up like all the other QB's they've drafted. Personally, I still think the Texans may take him. They have no one at QB in Houston if you call TJ Yates and Case Keenum starters, and he would sell tickets.

I don't get this logic though. When has drafting blue chippers at other positions but having a ****** QB ever helped any team in this era? Especially when teams no longer have to sign early picks to mega contracts..

When have the clowns drafted and developed a blue chip QB or any other position? That's why I'm not afraid of whatever they do, they'll find a way to **** it up.

LOL! This I entirely agree with. But if you're the clowns you still have to try. All I'm saying is.. saying "the Browns haven't learned anything" if they take Manziel, but they're "righting the ship" by taking Sammy Watkins is absurd. In the NFL, if you are a bad team, you are not righting the ship until you have a QB who can win games, point blank period. Honestly.. if I'm the Clowns, Jags, Raiders, etc., I'm taking a QB in the first round every year until I get it right. **** it

Bernie Kosar but that was the old Browns who are now the Ratbirds. Browns v2.0 are even worse.
Ben was on 93.7 this morning and allowed that he was talking with Coach Joey Porter, where Coach Porter said something to the effect of Johnny Football getting broke in half in the NFL.

"He had no teeth and he was slobbering all over himself. I'm thinking, you can have your money back, just get me out of here. Let me go be an accountant. I can't tell you how badly I wanted out of here!" -- John Elway meets Jack Lambert for the first time.

Thing you have to remember is that NFL linebackers are about as fast as college wide receivers and weigh 70 pounds more.

Yup, old browns. Since they've been back they suck monkey balls.

My issue with Johnnie is that he tries to do too much. Which gets you killed in the NFL. There aren't any Duke plays in the NFL where you run into the line get caught and escape to find a wide open WR. Those plays get you on a stretcher, a fumble, concussion, or at the very best a yard loss. I just don't see him being able to pass from the pocket consistently.
