Steeler VS clowns game day thread

I just cant remember feeling so ****** after a win

This win tastes like a **** sandwich
You're not a real fan this is exactly how the genius of Tomlin planned it all along. Couldn't have our real plans on tape for other teams to watch while we're watching the payoffs from the couch...

I agree though

It's better than a loss, isn't it?

Barely ... but I'll take it ... and hey, it gives us ALL something to ***** about (gotta build fan unity).

What really pisses me off about our team is the number of penalties, especially at key moments. This team lacks the discipline of teams past.

I guess this is what to expect from our 30 Minute Men.

I think the play where they had to 20 yrd gain and we tack on another 15 with the penalty invigorated them. That one score, lead to another and the confidence brewed in the Browns..especially Hoyer. He had the one big 40+ yarder to Jordan but not much else in the first half. Had we thumped em that first opening drive it could have eroded their belief. Once they got one score, then the second, they commanded this game and it showed.

They have things to fix....but thats what reviewing game film is for...hopefully theyll get things shored up.

The problem is I don't know if it's fixable. I don't think we can fix getting man handled on the lines. We just don't have the personnel. Big Dan definitely needs to play to see what he's got. Can't be worse than what we had today. The secondary maybe OK if the front 7 can do what it is supposed to. The good news is that Mitchell payed much better than the preseason.

But you have to learn that. They have some young guys in the mix. It is going to be this way. There will be fits and starts.

Again, it is better than a loss. What if they shut down the Browns in the 2nd half? Would you all feel better? And what would it really tell us about them being it is the first game?

I'm OK with this. They won, and the coaches have a lot to ***** about over the next few days.

If Budweiser has Budweiser Lime, after this game Iron City should sell Iron City Malox! HOWEVER, STiller fans we are 1-0, not 0-1 like last year. We need to learn a lot and improve before Thursday night. The Ravens will be up for us at home and on TV.
I agree that we should activate big Dan.

Bell was stellar. Brown was stellar even with the attempt to hurdle the punter (sorry Dan Fouts but A Brown was hustling so quit being so critical!)

Ben was on fire first half, fell asleep 2nd half but really pulled our chestnuts out of the fire with that last drive,

Wheaton is getting better and stronger (notice the blocking he and A Brown did near the goal line when LeGarrett Blount scored (brought back memories of the BUS)

We have a lot of young guys who need to get stronger. Still not sold on McClendon or Thomas.

Bottom line? 1-0. I'll take it (along with all the antiacid in my stomach from the second half)

I don't feel much of anything. I'm a fan, but as much as the game has changed and watching the talent we may lack...it's hard to really feel anything. I cheer, scream, get pissed, but after the game is done, it's just football.

These last few seasons remind me of the years with Maddox. We struggled a ton. Wins were amazing to get. Kinda like when they are struggling. Makes a win that much better.

Steelers win. *'s lose. Ravens lose. Nothing to ***** about from me.

When the Steelers come out in the opening drive of the second half and run the same damn run play on First and Second down, you need to begin to wonder if Haley or Tomlin has the balls to keep their foot on the throttle during games. 27 points in a half is outstanding, you should be able to pick up another 27 in the second half and give us fans a nice enjoyable Sunday afternoon. The whole damn team fell apart in the second half. Players, coaches, and even the fans who emptied out after half time. WTF is that about BTW?

Last year, our D would have wet just bled out in the 4th quarter after giving up that lead. Good to see them stop the Browns on their last two possessions. On a similar note, Ben and the O have struggled in recent years to finish off that game ending, winning drive in close games. Good to see them come through.

I know I seen enough flags on kickoff and punt returns to fill the whole damn year up today...

Cost them a lot of field position......

Did anyone else notice everytime Ben audibled (he would scream red something) we would run the ball.
If i picked it up i know the Browns did.

Throw me into the Fire Tomlin Crowd. This team should be called Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde.

Steelers had a number of predictable play. Knew the ball was going to Archer on the AB touchdown play (Browns had him covered well). Screen pass (forget which receiver) when Justin Brown was lined up just inside of him because he is probably their best blocking receiver. Ben's shotgun run up the middle to Blount (terrible call). I was disappointed they went into turtle mode after the Browns easily marched down the field to make it 27-10. You go down and score, game is over.

Defense was pathetic in the second half. I don't care if you came in without a game plan, you should be able to perform better than that against the run.

Despite winning, I believe Cleveland fans are more heartened by their Team's performance than are Steeler fans.
