This is my best-case scenario. No Tomlinship this season. Steelers go 7 - 10

History would suggest they go at least 3-3 in the division which would add one more win.

Then they just have to turn one of those other Ls into a W for that tasty Tomlinship (MIN, LAC and MIA are all possible wins imo)

Heck if they go 2-1 in those 3 along with a measly 3-3 in the division it has just turned into 10-7 and all primed up to bump the ceiling and get blown out in a WC round as they polish off another Tomlinship.

With mason as qb 7-10.
Rogers as qb 6-11.
Howard as qb 5-12.

Just a quick summary. And I have accounted for the defense being responsible for a win.

17-0 with Howard being the first rookie QB to win a lwoB repuS.

Another year without a game one home opener, and the bye in week 5, woo hoo,
From Boogie Dogg sports (not sure what links I'm allowed to post.)

Da Steel Doggs are about to start strong out of da gates, going 5-0 to start. But then reality will hit, once again, and they will struggle down the stretch ending up 9-8 or so, maybe even 8-9 to break Tomlin's all dogg non-losing streak at 18 seasons. How can they start so strong and fizzle so bad down the stretch again? Two things: the schedule and Mike Tomlin. In the second half of their season, they face the Ravens twice, Greenbay, Detroit, da Bills and the Chargers. Mikey's keep away strategy can't keep up with those real teams. They cooked. It won't matter if Rogers is in at QB.

Wk 1 Sept. 7 — at New York Jets, 1 p.m. (Sun)
- why we win... New head coaches rarely win their opener...
- why we lose... Fields knows how to exploit our teams weakness

Wk 2 Sept. 14 — Seattle Seahawks, 1 pm (Sun)
- why we win...Its the home opener vs a west coast team.. Sam Darnold doesnt
- why we lose... The New seahawk Oline stymies the pass rush

Wk 3 Sept. 21 — at New England Patriots, 1 pm (Sun)
- why we win... New England hasnt been a great team of late..
- why we lose... Its the Pats... Tomlin likes irrationally losing to them

Wk 4 Sept. 28 — Minnesota Vikings in Dublin, Ireland, 9:30 am (Sun)
- why we win... the Vikings QB isnt a sure thing... plus euro trips tend to be total toss ups... the crowd should be heavily steelers fans...
- why we lose... I mean the vikings are a really good team if the qb pans out and I dont think they have ever lost an international game

Wk 5 Oct. 5 — Bye... early byes are almost always a loss

Wk 6 Oct. 12 — Cleveland Browns, 1 pm (Sun)
- why we win... its a Home game vs the Browns after a Bye... the Browns will be coming back from London...
Tomlin has a sterling record after Bye weeks.. teams coming off euro trips have a terrible one
- why we lose... easily the most winnable game on the schefule, so its highly likely we lose it🤣

Wk 7 Oct. 16 — at Cincinnati Bengals, 8:15 pm (Thu)
- why we win... if the Bengals havent solved their defense issue, then any QB issues we have wont matter...plus this is typically about the time their offensive toys start breaking down... also Tomlin teams do well in prime time
- why we lose... short week vs a high powered offense... joe exotic finds his mojo this season... this also is about the time in tge schedule Cinci starts actually playing trying to dig itself out of an early season hole🤣

Wk 8 Oct. 26 — Green Bay Packers, 8:20 pm (Sun)
- why we win... again, with extra prep time, and in prime time, Tomlin teams have great records. Arod gets his second revenge game
- why we lose.... The Pack are a solid team and Love would love to beat his former non mentor, if he is actually here by then....

Nov. 2 — Indianapolis Colts, 1 pm (Sun)
- why we win... Its probably gonna be Daniel jones starting behind an oline who is down a couple starters..
- why we lose... we love to lose to crappy qbs...

Nov. 9 — at Los Angeles Chargers, 8:20 pm (Sun)
- why we win... Prime Time game...
- why we lose... west coast game, also we almost certainly are gonna see Angry running Najeh this game🤣

Nov. 16 — Cincinnati Bengals, 1 pm (Sun)
- why we win...Home division game...
- why we lose...the Bengals offense goes on a run and this is about the time our D gets figured out or injuries kill us

Nov 23 — at Chicago Bears, 1 pm (Sun)
- why we win... the bears have a universally lauded offseason... means they probably suck this year
- why we lose...we always lose to sucky teams later in the season

Nov. 30 — Buffalo Bills, 4:25 pm (Sun)
- why we win... i guess we are due? And we are home.. and it should be a national game
- why we lose... Tomlin doesnt coach well vs his W&M alumni buddy... plus Allen is a beast

Dec. 7 — at Baltimore Ravens, 1 pm (Sun)
- why we win... **** Harbaugh teams
- why we lose... ****, Harbaugh teams

Dec. 15 — Miami Dolphins, 8:15 pm (Mon)
- why we win... its a Monday night home game. Its a win
- why we lose... Tuas concussions make him think he is Batman... nobody beats Batman

Dec. 21 — at Detroit Lions, 4:25 pm (Sun)
- why we win...the offseason coordinator changes ruin the lions
- why we lose... The lions are a damn good team

Dec. 28 — at Cleveland Browns, 1 pm (Sun)
- why we win... Cleveland likely has mailed in the season by now and doesnt care
- why we lose... Kenny Pickett demands his vengence... also by now old man Rodgers is broken and Garrett finishes his life goal of concussing rudolph with his own helmet

Jan. 3-4 — Baltimore Ravens, TBD (Sat or Sun)
- why we win... Ravens are sitting starters
- why we lose...we are sitting starters

To be 100% fair, last year we started great and faded down the stretch, so this year we will struggle early them miraculously rally in November and December

DK sports mentioned this exact same thing, no home opener. You can count on that as it is the STEELERS.

That week 5 bye had to happen after the Foreigner game. I’ve never been a fan of early bye-weeks, but in this case it had to happen here.

ALSO on the foreign game, will Tomlin do similar to last time…… fly them over on a Thursday, not enough time to acclimate and then play as if walking dead zombies. Friday is wasted recuperation day and then Saturday is walk-through. They need to go over on Wednesday, then recoup / acclimate Thursday. Work Friday and Saturday walk through.

From the sounds of the “clip” from Rooney, the plan is Tghursday and then we will more likely get the same bull-**** zombie show.

The more average your squad gets the harder the schedule looks. Sad that a lot of mid teams look like tough outs.

It’s nice when your team is so dominant that the schedule always looks easy and the only question is will we lose 1 or 2 ?

I remember a time when this was true of the Steelers.

I was able to pick 12-4 for season record prior to the season starting,……….

Did this for a very long time and wasn’t disappointed very often.

Now that pick would be an opening line for a stand up comic….

We have a real shot at being 3-0 going into the foreign game. That will give us a true test and a bye week to work / fix the holes if exposed.

There is always the flip side………..

Honestly, If I owned a team and got forced into BS foreign games, Id rent a practice venue for the week and fly everyone over Monday, give them Tuesday off to acclimate, then practice wed-thur-fri. Give them a day off Saturday... if I was a player... Id just leave after the game the Sunday before and meet the team there... but then i have no problems sleeping on a plane.
Its only 7 hrs and change.. flights to sf are a bit over 5 hrs... for west coast and foreign games.. guys should want to get out there super early... acclimation is key

Except like last year, the opponents sure get tougher later on with Balt. twice, Chargers, Green Bay, Detroit and Buffalo. That likely six losses.

You do realize that despite the collapse last year, Tomlins record as an underdog is ridiculously good... its how he offsets all those losses as a heavy favorite🤣

For almost the last decade the quality of teams hasnt really mattered... we either start terrible and finish strong then do the opposite the following year...

Maybe its all in the fine print of Tomlins deal with the Devil... getting a mediocre season in the most aggravating manner
