Steelers-Bills Postponed to Monday

This is Watertown, NY in December 2019. It was about 5:30 AM and this was the 2nd time that morning I headed out to clean the vehicles and clear the driveway. First time was around 4:30. Some of the hardest snow I’d ever seen.

Yup, people who haven’t been there don’t get it. I lived there for a year but that’s where I met my first wife so I was back and forth for many years after. Watertown averages slightly less snow than Buffalo but it gets colder. The nearby Tug Hill Plateau is routinely the snowiest place in the Lower 48. Lake Effect can pass over Watertown before it falls and that’s when Tug Hill gets pounded. My ex-wife actually moved back to Pittsburgh, I wonder why?

I am so thankful that I never had to spend any time up at Ft Drum, especially during the winter
It’s a beautiful area… in the summer.

So basically everyone from new york politics talking about why tomorrow will be " safer" than today keeps mentioning the wind or lack thereof... road conditions are expected to remain in " emergency" conditions... but hey, the Bills can throw the ball, so its now ok to play... 🤦🏻‍♂️
60 mph wind can blow your *** off a slick road. Also you get snow drifts, say against guardrails on the highway, and 6” of snow can become 2+ feet real quick when you’re not expecting it.

I hear yaz Ron, on everything you say about that snow / weather anomaly.

I don’t deal with that much volume of snow, but I do deal with the bitter cold (-31 F here this morning) and drastic wind at times. Like you said, 2” can drift to 2+ft and in my case at times 8ft and more. Days of wind make that little3 hump in the field become a HUGE drift. Cattle / sheep / etc become very vulnerable in some cases.

I just hope the game is played Monday as I still have very cold weather and can make office time work so as I can take afternoon off to watch. My employee has a “must” little job first thing in morning, then he wants rest of day off so win / win and a STEELERS win will be great.!!!

They dumb

For those that wanted the game to be played. This is what the inside of the stadium looks like....the clip comes on at about the 1 minute mark.
Yeah....I cracked jokes about it as well, but you have to be insane to want to play, or watch the disaster that would have been the game this afternoon. You can't see the field, no way the coaches or refs can see what's going on.....LOL.

Now I hope they get three feet overnight and she looks like an ***
Won't be 3 feet, but they may see another foot from the time the originally scheduled game should have ended until kick off tomorrow.

She looked like an *** before making this decision, this will just confirm it. The only practical solution was to move the game to another location.

I'm sure some of you would ***** and moan even if they moved the game to another location

Again: what it would have been like at kickoff

Because the Governor imposed a travel ban:

"The Bills have offered volunteers $20 an hour to shovel the snow, but because of the ban, there is no ETA on when they can start that work. "

I headed up there on the BT50. Got pulled over by some punk cop whose vehicle could barely get around. I waited till he was getting out of the car and then I goosed it so as to cover him in snow, and then blew outA there.

I’m sure there’s an APB out for me, but I was the ONLY one to show up for snow shovel duty. Graciously I told them to **** off and went to White Castle to eat. They recognized rthe BT50 and helped me hide it for a few hours.

I finally got home and decided this is where I’ll stay and watch the game.

The cynic in me wants to say that if a team cant host a game on time, their choices should be to relocate tge game or forfeit... ultimately that would be most unfair to the fans, and they shouldnt do it... but it would keep grandstanding politicians out of tge process... because you cant ever know if they are really serving the public in cases like this, or just getting political capitial...

If tge only two choices are both negative to voters... tgey would probably keep out of it unless it was dramatically important
I suspect the decision to move the game to Monday was unpopular with a lot of Bills fans as well.

We’ll get the full game experience today. No heat in my house. Boiler started acting up last week, HVAC guy looked at it and ordered a part, but yesterday it crapped out altogether.

*Edit*
HVAC company just called, part is in and they will be here this afternoon.

Had HVAC company over for routine maintenance and inspection of my 21 year old furnace last week that resulted in them finding a hole in the heat exchanger and red flagging it.

House seems warmer at lower temp with the new furnace but it wasn’t cheap.

So you desire for your hole to heat up in the process of exchanging temperatures.

Don't mind me I have issues...

Our boiler is only six years old but the control board crapped out and isn’t telling the gas valve to turn on. I’m thinking of making my life analog again.

I feel for you guys with furnace problems...
I have a big, metal fireplace insert filled with oak for really cold days here in Bammy.
It will be roaring a few hours from now.

You have an anal log that boils over with crap and that surprises you.
