I truly believe he wanted the half to be over. He knows they cant move the ball. Ben has come close a couple of times throwing a pick. Tomlin probably didnt want Ben to have the ball . I know it sounds horrible but Tomlin knows he has no offense. Burn3 TOs to get nothing anyway and possibly throw a pick 6 like Ben did in BUF----I think Tomlin was hoping IND would run out the clock themselves.
 
If I'm Rooney I fire him at halftime...if Tomlin isnt going to try or doesn't believe in his offense why should his players try or believe??? INEXCUSABLE
 
Whether Ben is playing great or horrific, Dionte still ran the wrong route on a play where alot of you are saying that's on Ben

On the list of issues Ben is like item 9. He hasn't played that bad today. Nothing is open. It's Fichtner's dumb *** offense. Even Nantz seems incredulous that they just keep trying to do the same short passes over and over and expecting it to work.

They MUST run the ball. Even if you are getting 3 yards per carry, you have to run it to make the defense respect it. Every defense knows exactly what the steelers are doing nearly every play. Zero run threat so you can keep your safeties deep. That means it's tough to throw deep. CBs aren't worried about getting beat deep so they can play tight on the short stuff. LBs aren't concerned with the run so they can drop into passing lanes. DL not even trying to rush. Just put up your hands and bat down passes.

Years ago, Cowher took away play calling duties from Ray Sherman and started calling plays himself. That's what a coach does when he sees a problem. Tomlin is a press conference coach. Fichtner may suck, but Tomlin is allowing him to suck and that's the biggest problem.
 
They will be an underdog against any team they play in the playoffs. And they will get their *** handed by whoever they play. As much as I hope Tomlin and the entire staff of Arkansas state gets fired, never going to happen. Division II play books are successful in the NFL [emoji849] and here to stay. GM down needs to go. Colbert and Omar also keep team in cap hell. Every team has ******* injuries and backups playing, the Steelers can’t even succeed with starters. Playcalling is the worst I’ve ever seen and that includes watching high school football

Ben should retire. We can get a guy like Fitzpatrick as a stop gap and hopefully find a guy in the draft
 
That's fine, but at least someone with a touch of football knowledge can call me out then, did you not hear Romo saying Dionte ****** up, are you ok with that, maybe you should write to CBS and tell him about it.

We got 7 points when the defense gave us a 3 yard field. We needed a penalty to get half those yards and even then we barely got across the line.
The only real desire I see on this team is Watt and Hilton. Everybody else looks like they do not give a ****. The good news, that should make our FA's more affordable to resign.

If that's the case the Ben should not be on the field. If Tomlin can't make that judgement then he shouldn't be head coach of the Steelers.

This game is over. I think I'm going to flip over and watch the Chiefs game. Or, maybe let my wife watch her Browns play the Jets. The Steelers are playing and being coached like a high school team right now. Not worth watching and getting more frustrated. The coaches refuse to try something different. I think that is the definition of insanity.

that pretty much sums it up. But that is what he told his team. He basically said I know you are **** and I dont trust this offense to make anything positive and its more possible that the O could turn it over and give IND a short field. Hell, I dont know. It was a stupid looking move no matter why he did it. Down 14 points and wont try to get the ball back with as much time as possible. Who knows. You got to know that Tomlin knows he had 3 TOs. This crap about Tomlin thinking Rivers was going to do something whatever Romo was saying so Tomlin got fooled is BS. Tomlin knew what was going on.

Then forfeit. Quit and turn the team over to someone else. Admit your entire career as a coach was because you took over a loaded team with a franchise QB. Tomlin would have been 3 years and out of the nfl on any other team.
 
Ok, so sit Ben. Let the backups come in and throw 3-4 ints.Our OL sucks. Any poor schmuck stuck behind that had better chunk it fast as well.


Biggest collapse of a team as I've ever seen. A complete unwillingness to change anything on offense. They hold par for the course 12+ years now. Same exact stuff every single year!

It all comes back to the O line. someone gets beat on most every play. That’s the problem that our short **** passes covered for until four weeks ago when the whole NFL figured it out. We “ran” with short passes, mixed in some longer plays. That helped the running game some. Now it’s all failing in reverse. We can’t go long, defenses take away the short. We can’t block long enough to go long-or we just believe that or we would try
 
I can only image his reason for not calling a timeout, stupid, stupid, stupid. if I was a defensive player there, I would have called the timeout and gave Tomiln the Finger.
