Steelers' George Pickens Seemingly Sends Strong But Simple Message To Pittsburgh's Front Office On Social Media

If this happens and no one offers what we want.....simply have him play out his contract. Depending on the contract he signs maybe we get a 3rd round comp pick.

Of course Tomlin doesn't like hostages. Only volunteers.
 
What I would love the Steelers to do:
- Sign Cooper K tomorrow
- Trade Pickens to get our 2nd back
- Use first round pick on best avail DT or Jeanty if avail
- Use 2nd and 3rd to get BA DT, RB (not picked in 3rd) and then CB or QB

He's the picture of a bad, selfish attitude, the worst. You can't build a team with guys like that. The anti Hines Wards..
 
Best idea would be to trade him to the Browns for their 2nd next year, but stipulate that they don’t get him till 26.

The reason Cleveland traded for Pickett is they
needed an experienced starter cheap.

That staff and front office cant afford another losing season. They still seem to think Watson can still regain his form, but he will miss half the season.

The Vet QBs available all are going to command a minimum of 4 million dollars, probably more in a couple cases... and most dont really fit Stephanskis conservative Offense... Pickett has won in the exact template they are running... so he can caretake until Watson gets healthy or a first round pick is ready...

Why do people think he would command a 2nd round pick??? He’s obviously a head case and didn’t the Steelers just give up a 2nd for Metcalf, while getting a sweetener by swapping their 7th for Seattle’s 6th???

Chase and a few more top WRs are gonna break bank very soon. Metcalf contract will be top 10, but bottom and that's just this year, by his 3rd season he''l be top 20 at best and we are talking about a guy in his prime years, not a 32 years old about to break down.

Just looking at the other signings around the league and their contracts, this looks like the best value and even though the team spent a 2nd rounder on him, signing a FA of similar level would have cost us our shining new 3rd round comp thanks to Dan Moore.

I don't think Metcalf stats should land him in the 30million/year ballpark. Feel like thats way too rich. especially considering all the guys with similar #'s around the 1000 yard and well under the 100 catch mark.
Had the Steelers given that contract to Pickens people would be losing their minds. Rightfully so as his production has not warranted that contract either.
At this point neither guy is in the same conversation as Jefferson, Chase Lamb. etc, but they are getting paid like it.

Jefferson signed his deal before last season, 140m, 88 guaranteed.
Lamb signed his before last season, 136m, 67 guaranteed.
AJ Brown same thing, 96m, 51 guaranteed. (stats very similar to DK over all)
St Brown, 120m, 35 guaranteed.
Ayuik, 120m, 76 guaranteed.

DK, 132m (we don't know the guaranteed money)
Chase, the Bengals have already stated they will make the highest paid non QB, that's 40per start point thanks the Garrett and the Browns.
Higgins, 26m guaranteed this year, wants a multi year deal.

The WR market EXPLODED last year, and we saw crazy numbers being thrown out there. Now with another huge jump in the cap, we're going to see that again. Chase will reset the market, 30m is going to be the going rate for a pro bowl WR.

He doesn’t need another geriatric, a sweatpants model at that, after he finally got the 2nd receiver he’s been trying to get for a year.

The goal is to have two receivers this year, unlike last year’s debacle.

Dude has averaged 947 yards per in offenses guided by 🇨🇦 then Mr. Run/run/pass punt

He also did it within the scheme of the human hurdle To offensive success Mr. Cool Shades

Slap a steady dose of average at best- frequently **** QB play with the likes of T-biscuit, KFP, Rudy, JF and OldeRuss

So multiply all those stats by 1.5 to equate what he’d look like in a real offense probably need to times the TDs by 2 with how RZ challenged Mike’s schemes are…a lotta stuff factors into a receiver’s stats.

At this point maybe just sign anyone(QB). I don't even think we have a qb on our roster. Truly a sad state we are in at the moment. And most everyone thought our WR debacle last season was bad.
