Steelers @ Jacksonville

Sorry, sometimes, on this board, it's hard to tell. I was once told that even though two players had referred to the benchings of rb due to fumble issues, that no one was being benched for fumbling. I asked why in the world a player would claim it to be happening if that wasn't it, and was told, point ******* blank, that Tomlin just wasn't the type of coach that would sit someone for fumbling, so the players must be lying. I **** you not.

Joe

You know that some here know way more than the players, coaches, GM, the rest of us intardnet "fans" and every other commentator because they just do. If people here would spend a little less time using microscopes trying to catch each other in lies half the redundant posts in here would disappear. It will never happen, but there's always hope. People are also capable of looking at a situation and having a change of opinion if they see something that changes their mind. It's amazing I know, but it does actually happen. I eagerly await my bashing in five, four, three, two.......

Which is what Antdrew said during the game, JJ called him a liar, it escalated to this lol but that's what happens when idiot gets involved.

LOL.. You bring me up more than what's her face does.

Because it is fun and you're stupid. You call me out as a Tomlin supporter no matter what he does but can't find one shred of proof to back that up. Anyone who has a different opinion to your own is a Tomlin lover, it's hilarious.

Is someone here really so heated that they're going so far as to insist that another member is lying about watching Steeler games? ******* lol.

Breathing into a paper bag yet?

Why do I need to breath into one. Lol.. as you can see he is lying. When has the idiot ever stopped arguing. Only when caught in a lie. Any other time he will keep going like the arguing energizer bunny. If you dont know the whole story may I suggest reading or staying quiet. Quite simple really he doesnt watch links his words. Doesnt have satellite. Games not in his area. So how did he see them? Not heated here sir im laughing at the Idiot. For once his everlasting mouth was shut.. You know you got him when he resorts to more lies about PMs ans Dvds lol.

I would suggest that looking at a stat line, and a highlight reel, is a poor basis for discussing a game. I'm fine with guys missing a game, but if you're not putting in the time to actually watch the games, why would you put in the effort to come here and discuss something you haven't seen?

Dude just give it up, you're being trite because idioteque has repeatedly smacked you around in these threads. These last few posts of yours smack of a "costanza-like" desperation

Lol where? Vader is right the cliques on the board do stick together whether right or wrong. Lmao. For instance in this thread he was wrong.

• The failed third-and-5 run/pass option at the end of the Tampa Bay game last week showed up again Sunday in yet another crucial situation. On a third-and-2 with three minutes left, offensive coordinator Todd Haley called the same run/pass option to Miller, with the only difference being a flip in formation. Miller was left uncovered, and Roethlisberger quick-hit him for a 13-yard gain and a first down.

This is what the argument was about. Him and JJ saying we didnt run the same play last week. So where exactly did the smacking around occur and by whom Omar?

So, the alignment for the plays, while flipped (against tb, 3rw at the top, 1 at the bottom, against jax, 3 at the bottom, 1 at the top). The rest of the play looks to be the same, well, except for that whole part where jax is 5 yards off Miller, and the bucks were 1.5 yards off.

I know watching the games is tedious for all of you, and I'm sure you wouldn't shell out the 50 bucks a year to watch the nfl rewind where you get to see the coaches film too. I mean if it's too much trouble to watch the games, where would you find the time to watch the coaches film. Oddly though, you've got plenty of time to stumble on here and tell the rest of us how ******* stupid we are for thinking we might know what we're talking about.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to t-man again

Did you post a link to that interview? I didn't see it if you did.

"It is a run play that if you don't cover a guy, you can throw it to him"

Hmm, gee, so what he's saying is if someone lines up WAY the **** off (see photo against JAX) you can throw the ball to him, but if they are all up in their face (see photo against TB) then you call the run.

He even says, and I quote, "So if you want to call it a run/pass option, I guess it is" "The two guys we had the option to throw to were covered"

Yep, looks like, as was stated, it's the SAME PLAY, but the guys aren't covered.

Joe

So, the real question is, if it was a stupid play call in Tampa (or if people are inferring that Ben thought it was a stupid call), why didn't he change the play? He knows how. He has the experience.

He either agreed with the call or wasn't smart enough to call a better one?

I will patiently for Omar to come chirping about somebody getting slapped around lol.

Eh, with better blocking that call works, they sold out and came up tight on the wr's, so if you make a hole for Bell, odds are he's getting the first down and then some. That's the problem as a defense on a play like that, if you sell, out to stop the 2-3 yard gain, you can miss and give up a 20 yarder. They clearly sold out, but we didn't get emp blocked, so it didn't matter.

The offensive line was pushed around a good bit against TB.

If you read the whole quote - even the parts you chose not to include - you see he calls it "technically" a run-pass option.

And that's my issue, what ark brought up: why are we calling a run play with the pass option being a conditional technicality? "There's only one 50/50 scenario on which we'll throw one pass to one route, and if that's covered we'll just turtle up and run up the middle like the rest of our run plays." 3rd and 5 is not a running down, especially with our run blocking. So throw a goddamn pass.

The biggest problem I have with our offensove gameplan is its over-conservatism. We play for FGs and field position in the hopes of winning FG-based slugfests. I know, I know. I secretly hate the Steelers so I'd ***** about whatever plays they actually called. But I hate that philosophy, especially when we have a bottom-tier defense that can't take advantage of field position and low-scoring games.

And this is the reason I cant *****. Because when watching the game and the play didnt work. I was pissed and immediately said why didnt they run a play that worked all game. The play to Miller, only to find out later that was the play. So I cant nitpick the play later saying they should of ran a more pure passing play when they ran the play I wanted all along. Bell had a big run earlier on that same play. I wonder if the Bucs had the same look as before(covering up Miller) so Ben gave it to Bell and the Oline excuted their blocks that time but not later on the 3rd 5.
