Steelers JV Squad Vs the Tampa Bay Bradys Gameday thread

Listening to MTomlin's press conference and Mike is certainly "appreciative" of a lot of things.

Man, Im glad we won, but Im getting so tired of Tomlin's canned expressions that he uses every time. They had some bumps and bruises associated with play, Im just "appreciative of.....{insert anything here}". Mike really complimented the "mettle" of his team. Man this crap just keeps getting older and older.

But at least this week, we won so MT's predictable pressers can be listened to while being happy.
But see, you have choices. You don't have to ***** about Tomlin (like every other NFL Head Coach) not giving you all the information you want after a game. You could ... not watch/listen. But, if you do watch/listen and you KNOW that's how Tomlin operates, then why get upset about what you knew was going to happen?

Maybe so, but I guess I have just grown tired of MTs. I have watched some of Sean McVays pressers and he doesnt do what Tomlin does. I would feel the same way if I was a NE fan. Belicheat has the same monotone expression almost like he is mad that he even has to answer these mundane stupid questions.

Mike knows damn well that these reporters have a job to do and he just doesnt want to help them at all. Just give them tired old expressions and platitudes and act like he is doing them a favor for even gracing them with his prescence--Mr 1 playoff victory in like 10 years. Belicheat has 6 rings on his fingers. He actually has a reason to be arrogant. Tomlin---not so much. But hey, we won. I wont worry, I will be happy!! dont worry, be happy now.
they have a job to do and Mike has his to do...

all that is important in pressers is injury status

Is he required to help the reporters? How much? Should he give them an outline of what they should write about?

no one is upset per se. Im not going to lose any sleep over it. It was just an observation. Sure, we all know what MT is going to say at just about every presser. I have been listening to them for many years like most of the folks on here. Im sure some on here have listened to more than I. Its just an observation. Im certainly not upset about it. Actually Im happy because of the win. Helps end my weekend on a good note. Havent had that in, oh, about 3 weeks. LOL. Very proud of the team.

There is nothing wrong with Tomlins press conferences… he is a teddy bear compared to Cowher, who was as combative as you can be with the media

Been going over the final drive in my mind and listening to Stan and Charlie's post game show on the radio and the more I think of it, the prouder I am of Claypool. Claypool was simply amazing. Those catches he made were in traffic and one was almost out of bounds, but he caught all of them and they were on 3rd down when giving the ball back to Tom Terrific would have been deadly for the Steelers. And Mitch was spot on. Really good throws.

What bothers me more than Tomlin’s press conferences is his behavior during the game. He stands there expressionless with his damn headphones on and says and does nothing. Does he do or say anything, to anyone, at all? Does he ever try to pump up a player, correct a player, or work a ref? We could put a wax statue of him on the sidelines and it would be no different.

Chuck Noll and Tom Landry stood there expressionless too, win or lose, and they were pretty good coaches. Didn't even wear headphones.

Games like this is why I rarely bet real money on football.
