Steelers’ Omar Khan Is Working On Securing A Massive Playmaker: “Very Close To Landing A Significant Playmaker”

Well. I think most us us got tired of seeing "Kahn ready to sign a huge playmaker" 100X over. Yea, click bait all that but how tiresome was that? Over and over. "Kahn ready to sign a huge playmaker." It never happened. He got rid of CJ like there was zero problem in replacing him. We'll see, or have we already?
Camp reviews on DJ have been terrible so far. We may be able to trade to get him back for you, and a 7th. He has once again forgotten how to catch.

Not wishing him the best, to be sure. His attitude was always suckish when he was here. But from what I'm hearing from Carolina, the team has been the pitts since new ownership, just the worst. No surprise here. And Jackson has been pretty good in camp so far, fingers crossed.

And ditto on news from Carolina camp, DJ has forgotten how to catch once again.

Metcalf acts like a tool on the field. Gets an OC every other game. Hill has 27 kids with 13 baby mammas. Lug nuts.
Gee, what happened to the "we're not hiring for seminary school, get some players who produce" attitude? Why is Cam Sutton on this roster? Hill and his 27 kids puts up about 27 TDs a season. As a matter of fact, the WR put up as many TDs last season (13) as Kenny has in the last 2, and he was our QB. Ouch.

You should always wish people well outside of playing the Steelers. But much easier to hate the world huh?

Sutton is league min and will be playing somewhere. I'm not giving big draft capital and huge cap space to that low life. This is not a SB year almost any circumstance. They've drafted well. Get your wr next year.

I'm actually not debating with your attitude on WR so much. Do what we can, within reason, but don't "throw the baby out with the bathwater" so to speak on giving up too much on future draft power. (I actually saw a program that addressed the saying "Don't throw the baby out with the bath water." Apparently, the baby was last on washing up for the week and the bath water was quite dirty by the baby's turn and was easy not to see him/her, hence the saying.)

Drafting IS the KEY to building a championship team, FA only helps maybe get to the top with a final pick. We are not at our "final pick" to reach the Super Bowl, as you say. Giving up a 1 and a 3 (or more) is NOT warranted at this point. That said, I would hope Kahn had some things in place besides NOTHING, which is what we have seen so far on the WR front. And now that Wilson was carted off the field yesterday, geez Louise. We are REALLY bare bones at WR.

Unless Wilson has an amazing final act or Fields vastly exceeds expectations I view this season as a pleasant diversion. But if they can keep Kahn and Weidl together they are building this team how most of us believe they should.

Come on cooch2 you are off way more than just a letter.😁😇

Thanks for the HUGE laugh, then a second one realizing you are probably right !!!!

That’s the part I’m worried about, keeping Weidl on the payroll. I think he is the better talent evaluator of the bunch.

In fact, per The Athletic, Valdes-Scantling may currently slot in at No. 6 on the wide receiver pecking order, behind second-round rookie Keon Coleman, veteran slot target Khalil Shakir, versatile free-agent addition Curtis Samuel, journeyman reserve Mack Hollins and former Pittsburgh Steelers starter Chase Claypool.

Wilson is out for at least 2 weeks according to the team. A bad ankle sprain can be worse than a break, I have had one that was worse. Hopefully it's not bad.

Maybe it produces a 2 win team and the number one overall draft pick next season.🤔

If he misses 2 weeks of training he might have to sit out like Austin did.

I think maybe you posted it in another thread, but this team has a very good defense in place and even an aging Wilson should be good enough to make a playoff run. A proven WR2 to combine with Pickens, Freiermuth, and the backfield would've really been something to watch.
I have a feeling Van Jefferson is going to surprise a lot of us. Once Roman gets back (maybe next year) the stable gets better...this will require patience, fam.

Sit back and enjoy the ride!!!

Since we're just throwing *J names out there...

"T. J. Houshmandzadeh"

Maybe that's who you meant???

So….heres an idea I was floating around in my head. All hypothetical of course. But I KNOW Omar reads my posts for some type of inspiration.

Remember John Metchie? A Canadian kid that did very well with Alabama that I followed a touch. Drafted in the second round by Houston. Tons of potential coming out of the draft and unfortunately was diagnosed with Cancer. Obviously missed his first season fighting the Battle. Cleared as Cancer free and played in limited role last season. Now Houston has a wealth of WR’s that have done very well with a great mixture of youth and vets. Maybe Metchie could be pried away. Still only 23. If the price is right of course. Houston has Tank,Nico Collins, Xavier Hutchinson,Robert Woods, Noah Brown. And Dalton Schultz catches enough too. Maybe Metchie ?
I'm gonna say it.. ROOOOOLLL TIDE ROLL!!! **** YEAH!!!
