Steelers sign RB Knile Davis

Well, they did need a couple of bodies for camp. Sensabaugh will probably push Gay off the roster - at least we can hope.

Hopefully he will bond with his fellow Clemson player Bryant and help keep his nose clean.

BWAhahahahahah

You are out of your minds, neither should make the roster of a championship contender trying to improve, camp bodies at BEST

Waiver wire scrubs, and we go running full throttle to sign them? Give me a break.

yinz didn't see the writing on the wall?

It is the Colbert way, who is available cheap.

I heard the G-men had some interest in a resign so there is that....

then I read he struggled against the Pack in the important game......

so there is that as well....

How does a team evaluate a player in March 2016, decide he is worth 3-years, $15 million and then SIX MONTHS LATER, in October of that same year decide he isn't even worth keeping on the roster and cutting him (and his 2016 salary of $4.5 million was already guaranteed at that point....).

How is this even possible in today's NFL? How can any G.M. and coach keep their jobs doing stuff like that with an owner's money?

It's ******* embarrassing.

and on the other side we have the Steelers, who should have cut bait with Jarvis years ago - but they continued to keep him and pay him

Davis has Kick Return ability. He has 2 career Kick Return TDs with a career average of 26.8 per return. Good pickup.

All the ones signed have a chance to contribute, but Davis might be only KR worthy. Sens gives the Steelers another opinion at CB so happy in that aspect.

I think he has a better chance of sticking over Davis.

Nov 5, 2016

The Kansas City Chiefs are bringing back Knile Davis.

In two weeks he has been traded to the Packers, cut by the Packers, claimed by the Jets and cut by the Jets. Now he can add re-signed with the Chiefs to the list.

Fumbler, bad hands, can't catch out of the backfield......he better run em back past the 20

How big are their heads?

Davis will be rb depth and a kick returner. Pretty sure we draft a rb to back up bell in either round 4 or round 5. I don't know anything about the other guy.

The Davis signing stinks of a Haley push. In his eyes he checked off these boxes:

Multi position capable
Fast 40

In my eyes I see yet another fast RB who can't seem to get past the line of scrimmage.

No fears ... Tombert plan on shocking the NFL by re-signing Dri to act as lead blocker on the kick returns, and BOOM!! Knile knifes through the kick coverage.

They signed Davis to return kicks. DeAngelo played zero snaps once Bell returned from suspension until the Championship game. They aren't going to use him to spell him or anything. He's stepped in for Charles two years ago and was solid. Multiple hundred yard games.

He has 3 kick return TDs including one in the playoffs in 2015. He averages five yards a return further then our best guy. We need the better field advantage. Our returns have been horrible for years. I think the last time we returned a kick for a touchdown was 2010 when AB did it.

Running full throttle? Hyperbole much? lol

Depth signings it's what we should expect at this point. Davis signing is as KR more than RB I'd bet money on that. An area we need to improve in. Good signing.

This draft is pretty deep at RB. Davis fills a need as a backup RB and special teamer. I still expect them to take a RB, possibly high.

OLB and CB have good depth in this draft but pass rushers and CBs tend to go early. By pick 30, it is very possible the steelers will be in a dead area for OLB and CB where all the 1st round talents are gone.

if that happens, i can easily see them taking WR, TE, or even RB if it's the BPA. What if Njoku from Miami, McCaffrey or Dalvin Cook, and Mike Williams or John Ross are sitting there and you take the 5th OLb or 6th CB?

Davis can't even return well against the Steelers crappy special teams.... How's he gonna do well against other teams?...

They were never going to take a RB high. Maybe rounds 4 on and I still expect that, especially with Bell's future still in question. A WR and TE would still be higher priorities on O.

At this point (and I don't see anything changing), they still need to draft OLB and CB in rounds 1 and 2.

Steelers signed RB Knile Davis to a one-year contract.

Davis has become a full-blown journeyman, spending parts of 2016 with the Chiefs, Jets, Packers and then Chiefs again. Going on 26, Davis owns a career 3.22 YPC

He'll be far from assured of a spot on the 53-man roster.

My assumption is Davis is on the roster to push a draft pick that is yet on the roster and to be insurance just in case said draft pick is a bust.

Coty Sensabagh I feel has a decent shot at making the team. Even if Golson is healthy and we draft a CB high I feel he has a better than 50/50 shot at making it. Didn't say that was a good thing either.

Good assumption and also he was ONLY signed to a one year deal. I bet it was for minimal wages and very "CUT" frie3ndly to our cap space.

Salute the nation

**** we suck at free agency. Anything over 1 year vet minimum for either of these 2 was over payment. I'm ok with a vet min deal for Davis if he is our 3rd RB/KR competing with Touissant, probably an upgrade in the return game and about the same as Touissant in the backfield. Still need a #2 behind Bell, wth?

Really Coty Sensabraugh? Can't get talent like that on just a 1 year deal...****
