Steelers sign RB Knile Davis

He probably returns better than the closet *******.

I think you are reffering to the "dump truck" Davenport. NO DOUBT Niles will return better than said individual.

Like to see a drafted RB be an automatic 3rd and 1 guy. Bell hesitates too much to be that guy.

still hoping we can land James Connor on draft day, but doubt we will even get to sniff him. He would be a great compliment to Bell.

What? Why do you doubt this? He is really limited athletically, and he will not be selected in an early round. He's a battering ram

I doubt this because we very rarely draft Pitt players and I think he will be gone before we get to him. I've been hearing his stock is rising. We'll see. . .

We still need a WR and possibly TE before a RB. I can't see us taking RB before round 4. But, that would be fine if we can get someone like Conner from Pitt.

I agree with TE but he MUST be a "starting type" TE. Not a #2 as we already have one of those in Jesse James.

If Howard is there at 1.30 I'd take him without looking back

What are the ODDs of him being there???

he won't be....yeah but he won't be

Who do you think, at this point in time, will be there. Not putting you on the spot but just curious as to who??

We rarely draft pitt players because the ones we are interested in go before our picks and the rest aren't worth anything. Being that Pitt plays in OUR stadium, I would say our scouts see them more often than any other players in the country.

I like James Connor but there is plenty of quality depth in this RB class; I think we'll pass him over for another RB in round 3 or 4.

I think they will have their choice of Watt,Williams, and Wormley.. with Obi still there. But Harris,Adoree, the two top TE's.Peppers and Reddick off the board.

Thanks. I wonder how serious the FO is on thinking GREEN will make a whole season?? That right there could influence our first round trade / pick. I think the Watt kid is a solid pick with his pedigree and work ethic, this being at 1.30

I think they have no faith in Green, but they do have JJ who is ok. And with the pass rush and Cb being a bigger need. They will look at that 1, especially with the depth at TE/OLB/CB solid in this draft.

I actually expect to see a TE in 2 or one of the 3rd round picks.

the big signing was Alualu, 2,3M this year, 3,7M next season but the dead cap if cut is minimal

Alualu's contract is just $3 million in cash this year and $3 million in cash next year. Only difference in salary cap numbers is from the $1.250M signing bonus. Interestingly we did structure the salary this year to guarantee him making the roster ($500,000) that he gets no matter what.

I think the Alualu contract makes a lot of sense to protect us from what happens with Stephon Tuitt's contract. Our only protection with Tuitt if contract talks break down this summer with him is to franchise tag him next year, which I'm not sure this team wants to do. Defensive line franchise tag numbers are big. Having Alualu under contract kind of acts as an emergency plan.

When it first happened, I wasn't really sold on Alualu, but when you put it in context of what might be happening with Tuitt, it kind of does. I mean, if I was Tuitt I'd want the same money Heyward got. Nothing less.

My concern is if they draft a guy that is equal to Jesse. If they truely do get a TE I'm hoping for more than a blocking or slow type guy. Jesse is pretty good all around and with BRYANT in the mix maybe it takes enough off James to get him open more due to lesser DB / speed in coverage.

Not a bad player. He has value as a kickoff return man, 3rd RB back up, and value as a receiver.

With our blocking, his YPA should be a bit better.

He has returned 73 kickoffs for 1,960 yards, a 26.8-yard average, and two kickoff returns for touchdowns.

from the Chiefs board

He can't pass block or read blocks, lacks vision, can't catch out of the backfield & fumbles a lot.

I only see him as a kick off returner
