Something I really like from HF boards is how they post plus/minus post game threads.. figured I try to start that here

++ we won a game vs a bad team
+Ben...27/35 and a passer rate over 100 despite no TD's... had aover 10 yards per attempt... also he needs just under 350 per game in the last two to get to 5K passing yards on the year
+Brown.. unfairly penalized, but outsode of that amazing all the way around
+Bell... yes he couldn't rush vs the 9 man fronts, (20 for 47) but 2 Tds and 72 receiving yards on 5 catches... still a stud
+ Miller... maybe the most underrated Steeler ever. another all around solid game
+ Willie gay ... love how he is taking risks on a bad d

+/- The oline... great pass protection for the most part.. only sack was vs an all out blitz. Couldn't open holes in the run game though

- The D... I mean pretty much the whole D... cannot wait till Peyton or Brady face this hot mess
- First half conservative playcalling... its got to stop

Credit to the Atlanta defense for doing everything they could to stop Bell. They executed very well.
Defense didn't get beat deep for once, but they allowed screen passes to kill them. Even so, they got enough pressure on Ryan to force some bad plays, only allowed 20 points and scored 7--on a great individual return by Gay.

Another big plus... if San Diego loses to Denver... we should be able to clinch a playoff spot with a win next week. we only have 3 conference losses. we would knock KC out of the picture and have the tiebreaker vs Buffalo and san Diego who wouldnt be able to get past ten wins

this should be, somewhat, neutral. ATL has averaged 25+ points per game coming into this game and held to 20. In the previous three games they scored 24+ and two of those were against GB and AZ.

They gave up a lot of yards and some long drives but kept them out of the endzone, mostly.

That personal foul on Worilds was one of the worst flags I have ever seen.

Indicative of the pussification of this sport

The unsportsmanlike conduct on AB was a dumb call.

They held onto the flag when Timmons hit Ryan after the slide.

Loved the play call on third and one at end of game, ben had three choices to throw to. We all could see the run including Atlanta as they bunched the line.

+ three penalties all game. Several games in a row with, relatively, few penalties.

I liked that the play call itself was built for a team looking for the run but also covering the short quick stuff... it was a perfect call for that team in that situation... that play doesn't really work vs a team great at run blizting and still getting to the QB

It was not that bad of a call, given the current emphasis, as it looked like helmet to helmet at live speed, which is the only perspective the officials have.

They're told to side on caution and throw the flag if there is any doubt about whether helmet-to-helmet occurred. I'm open to the idea of making it a reviewable play, but doubt the league would go for it.

I'm not thrilled about the "kinder, gentler"'game either, but the politics surrounding concussions are slowly killing the foundation of the sport, as more and more parents are refusing to let their kids play the game due to all he hoopla surrounding the 10-15% of retired players suffering cognitive and/or psyhological issues.

Problem with side of caution oh hit of Ryan is later in the game Ryan was hit harder and no thought of flag. Refs just to inconsistent on calls on the QB.

That it was, my friend.
get tired of watching **** like that called. When are things are let go.

Worilds, text book tackle. Head up....

Refs just throw the flag on any questionable hit... that's why penalties called should be reviewable... I agree that you shouldn't be able to ask for a non called penalty that really should have been, but when they call a personal foul or a deep pass interference incorrectly it changes the dynamics of the game everytime...

Jarvis took a nice punch to the face that wasn't called as a hands to the face penalty.

- Timmons had a timdong like day whiffing and complete lack of control of his own body

I'm happy with the win. It's a lot better than losing.

Charlie Batch just stated Timmons had another great game to go along with the rest of his season...

It WAS a bad call...the ref had a better view than anybody and Worilds hit Ryan squarely in the chest with his facemask. Exactly how you would teach it.
Throwing a flag just to be throwing it will kill the game, slowly but surely. Or, worse yet, it will kill the QB's knees when the defensive players start going there instead.

Earlier in the season this was a huge problem....Tomlin said he would fix it....and he's seemed to have fixed it....

I'm sure the players are just deciding to play smarter.
