Steelers Will Sit Martavis Bryant Sunday

Not listed on the team’s Wednesday injury report was wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, who was reportedly in concussion protocol on Tuesday, according to Tomlin. That’s a great sign for him.

JuJu was full participant in practice today so looks like he cleared the protocol.

When does the Wednesday practice report come out? The SNR guys sounded pretty upbeat about JJSS's chances of playing Sunday night.

He benched Rogers for 2 games this year (for one miscue on the field)that quite possibly caused us a win. We needed him on the field as Bryant and others weren't getting open.

AB, JuJu and Rogers will be the top 3. Hunter will add some height and speed when needed. Hopefully, Vance gets back on the field (didn't practice today) and catches the ball otherwise, I just stick with Jesse. Vance really isn't that much of an improvement.

I think Vance is an improvement in the sense that even though his hands suck you still have to respect his ability to get to places on the field James cant. His speed has to be respected. Down by the Goaline where it doesnt matter as much play James

Excellent decision. Kudos to Coach Tomlin. I hope he told him that if he has any interest in playing in the next game after this one, he better straighten the hell up...like immediately.

I sort of wish he was sitting out of a game vs the Browns. We are gunning for the #1 seed in the AFC, and Detroit is not an easy game on the road.

I would have rather Tomlin put in on Bryant to show him he can practice hard, and keep his mouth shut for the week. Then he might respond well for the game.

If Ju-Ju is out might Detroit double AB and make an erratic Hunter or a small Rogers try to beat them?

I guess Ju-Ju being able to play allowed Tomlin to make this decision.

Vance is a tremendous improvement as a blocker, and more dangerous as a receiver. Yes he might drop 1 of 3, but James doesn't offer much.

Agree 100% with this. He showed moves on that catch Sunday that James isn't even allowed to dream about having.

Nothing but a bit of something called consistency.

Another bit of drama heading into a game. This is setting up to be another loss. On the road after a division opponent against an NFC team a week before the bye. A loss would suck, but it's not devastating due to the fact it's out of conference. The NFL is ripe w/these types of games. It just feels ...wrong.

I did not think Tomlin had it in him, good for you coach. Sits for two weeks either pouts or gets his head on straight and make a difference on the field. This is a big game before a bye. The players need to be focused on this instead of what Bryant is saying.

He's damn near completely ****** himself out of any decent future contract. He needs to can his social media and whomever is in his ear. Refocus. Stop bitching. Start working on your game or your can just smoke some dope and be done with it all. McDonald's is always hiring.

Martavis won't be present on the field Sunday? How is that any different than most other Sundays this year?
Had two passes in this week's win and caught one. I don't know that we'll miss him except to draw people off AB.

Typical reply from a revisionist like yourself. Coach Tomlin makes a bold, tough coaching move, and you berate the matchup. That is a flip flop on your own words of Tomlin not being a hard enough coach and too soft on players.

Give it a rest. Hunter will be more productive than Bryant ever was, and he won't ***** about it.

The kid hasn't done ****, and he's the 3rd option on his best day. The other young WR's have steeped up while he pouts and acts like a jack ***. He's not getting cut or traded, he can either get his **** together, or rot on the inactive list. I'm good with it.

This benching could mean a trade is in the works. Perhaps to Detroit. Detroit signed Marvin Jones to be a big play WR and it hasn't panned out. Stafford sure could use a guy like Martavis. Maybe the steelers end up with Marvin Jones and a draft pick.

Not a fan of Tomlin, but i definitely think this is the right choice. I do not believe he will be traded though.

We are a worse football team without him on the field

Speed with suspect hands? That is Bey’s position

Consistency?? As far as TE's go, James is a JAG (just a guy). He's alright, I suppose. Is McDonald the second-coming of Mark Bavaro? Prolly not, but there's no doubt he has more playmaking ability than james, and he's a solid blocker on most runs
