Steelers Will Sit Martavis Bryant Sunday

What you are missing is Bryant has not been that outside presence. For all but half the season. Might as well roll the dice and see what Hunter can give you. Can it be any worse than a screen or two that Bryant gets every game. Or the one yard drag he seems to do also. the occasional 8 yd out. He has done nothing down the field. Has a issue shaking anyone. Usually only single coverage. Simply nothing. Not saying I'm for moving him but it isn't a stupid idea to take offers. Bryant has given us nothing to date except his personal drama.

I know the **** Bryant has put on tape. I also know what he is CAPABLE of.

The Steelers are on a road to possibly something special they need all hands on deck.

If you take Bryant away and Hunter doesn't work out. you might even see a worse drop-off than we saw last year from that number 2 WR position.

Not willing to chance that.

Just cause he hasnt caught the football he still provides a presence other teams must prepare for IMO. Hunter doesnt do that i dont think.

I disagree. I was at the jags game. Watched Bryant during the game. Single coverage. Couldn't do anything. Say what you want but you are hoping Bryant is the guy from 2 seasons ago. He isn't at this point. Might never be.

So we go on hoping Bryant who has been gone from football for all but 2 years and hope he returns to form? Really? For 1/2 a season he has done nothing. Hunter will get a shot to see if he get more playing time tonite. I hope he makes the best of it. I have given Bryant the benefit of the doubt for 3 and a half years. I could careless if he ever suits up again....yet hope he come back to form of two years ago. Most likely a pipe dream. Thing is Bryant will be back in two week for another shot. The Steelers handed him the number 2 WR spot when he was reinstated. Never had to do anything to earn it back. We got exactly what he actually earned. Nothing.

Not anymore than a pipe dream of hoping Hunter becomes that man. So far in his career he has not.

And say for ***** and giggles Hunter does ok.

Then goes down with injury? You are then screwed at that spot.

So many angles it just doesn't make sense.

And all you are doing is hoping Bryant returns to form from TWO years ago. Laughable. he has not shown us anything that shows he will up to this point in the year. Except take days off. Plays off. Throwing teammates under the table. Talk about getting his. The 2 WR job was handed to him after a 2 year absence. He has shown nothing that he deserves that spot....Except tape from 2 years ago that you keep referring to. Gotcha

In your mind. That is where we differ. I think it is still possible to get back to form.

But yes it is a unknown.

But if he gets traded and then gets back to form.

I bet you aren't laughing then.

Especially if the team comes up short on O because of that position yet again.

No I want a player for him at the very least.

Again I'm not pushing/hoping for him to be moved, but if someone makes a crazy offer for him. Sure. We have giving him half a year.. I guess we can continue to hope he returns to form this next half. Make it a weekly competition between Hunter and Bryant. Make the MAN earn the game day suit. Stop just giving him opportunities on Sunday. Make him earn it. he might get over that bug that has been hitting him weekly really fast. Heck. He might not get sick again all season if he knows he has to earn his spot on Sunday. Imagine that.

So we lose him for a season(next year). He will not be getting a second contract from us.

I could care less about next year, we can address the position after the season is over.

Trade him in the off-season and I don't even blink.

You just want that depth on this run....... one way or another.

His value will be no higher or lower in the off-season. Unless a sorry NFC team offers at least a third.

Reports the cheats did reach out about his availability

No ******* way would I ever trade them anyone..

ever

I don't know about that. Right now he is clean. And if a team that is hurting at WR is willing to do as you and Slash are hoping for....for Bryant to Bloom into the Bryant of 2 years ago they might pony up a pick that they won't in the off season. Plus having his service for a year and a half instead of one year is also an incentive. I get as Slash says keep him for at the minimum depth. Sure but keep throwing him out there as the #2 WR without him earning it at this point is the issue I have. And if a team would offer say a third. Depending on what team it is I would really give it some thought. You have to.

So you think he can get back to form of 2 years ago in this 2nd half of the season...or are you actually hoping he will. Because I certainly don't think he will. His body certainly doesn't have the speed of two years ago and who knows where his heads is. ****. All this **** might have drove him back to the smoke. He could be smoking a big fat one right now. You know just as you have your film(from 2 years ago) to hang your hopes and dreams on. Bryant has his history of where he doesn't give a **** about failing a drug test. Which part of history has a better chance to come to pass?

I wouldn't limit it to the NFC, I'd trade him to anyone. He'll be out of the league in a year after another positive test. No 'if', but 'when'.

So if the cheats want him, we'll take the pick, thanks.

Trade him for Ernie Adams and see what they say...haha. I wouldn't give the cheats **** ever for anything. I'm still pissed they gave them Blount by cutting him. I would have made that ****** ride the pine the rest of the season on the inactive list.

You never give the enemy a weapon they could use against you..

I will see how he is after this benching. If it sparks him.

If not yeah I keep him for depth.

Sure a second would look attractive.

But there is also who you are trading him to. Andddd let's be honest this isn't early Ben. This could be his last year.

I might be willing to take chances with players earlier on in Ben's stay. Or after Ben. In a rebuilding mode.

But now on maybe his final run?

Trade depth away?

Last year still stings for me. That spot holding this O back.

Yeah hell it could still this year, as it has to a certain degree.

I think of a few plays this year. A drop and a Ben overthrow...would our perception change a little?

For me a trade not just yetttttttt. Unless a WR comes with it.

to be honest Hunter didn't set the world on fire in pre-season

I think that's a lesson learned

I didn't say he did but Bryant was handed the #2 WR job after his reinstatement. What has he done? Played hookie. Complained about teammates. Played the drama game every which way possible. Still has issues with catching the ball. Can't beat single coverage. All I'm saying is make it an open competition from here on out on who dresses. Hunter or Bryant. Kind of like they did with AB and Sanders. I think Hunter will be up for the task. Would Bryant be? Or would he complain and pout more?

Trade him if:

1. We get compensation to help this year and future (picks)
2. It’s not to NE or another solid afc team.

Could he help, sure. Does he has skills and potential, fuckn a right.

But, Can’t stay on the field, mouth is an issue(but I think it’s more of an issue to us the media and such. Doubt players bother too much) and as Eddie In Raw said, what have you done for me lately. Dude show up and play. Ball out when you get a chance. I donno. Kinda like Bell

When he threw JuJu under the bus it didn't sit well with numerous players. i think his act is getting old for them. Especially when you throw in all the "sick" days he has had the last month or so. Instead of being at working and trying to get better he calls in sick because he is upset. Stuff like that happens when you just hand a player his starting job and he doesn't have to earn it back.
