Stop all the playoff talk

True but only if they win the Cinci game when it is replayed and KC loses on Saturday…

If the bills are at 12-3. They Beat KC. KC is 13-3 … the Bengals are 11-4. If the Bills win vs Cinci, they are 13-3 and tied with KC but ahead on the tiebreaker… if KC loses, then the Bills are the top seed… if they win, then the Bills must win to stay ahead of them
If Cincy wins, they are 12-4, the Bills are 12-4, and KC is 13-3… then the Bills need a KC and a Cinci loss coupled with a win to get home field.. If KC wins on Saturday they still need to beat the pats to get the 2 seed with a cinci loss…

This is why the NFL is stupid to have Saturday games on the last weekend…
Right very dumb to keep that game on Saturday, they should move it to the Sunday 1pm games as well because it could very well determine if Buffalo rest or play thier starters on Sunday. Also that game doesn't look like a guaranteed win anymore for the Chiefs, the Raiders are playing strong and now at home against a division vival, they could very well lose that game... it's going to be a very interesting week with alot more scoreboard watching now.

Re: Bills/Cincin game

Ignoring money, logistics and all the other things, right now the best solution (not practical solution, just best solution) if they want to keep the current SB date is to move the playoffs back a week and eliminate the open week between the conference championships and Super Bowl. They could also just move everything a week if they want to preserve that week between the conference championships and the Super Bowl. I kind of envision it as games get played as scheduled this week. Then if, after all of that, if the game has ANY meaning to ANY team, they play that game the following week and all other teams are on a bye. Then the following week starts the playoffs. There are no perfect solutions but that may be the least flawed?

Then they can also fix their dumb stuff like having KC play this Saturday.

Also the 2 seed from the 3 seed isn't what it used to be anymore, it literally just determines your opponent now because either way you're getting a home game to start. It's really 1 seed or anything at this point. As it stands right now I think we should start with hoping the Chiefs beat the Raiders on Saturday then go from there.

TV would never ever allow that

I wasn't a fan of expanding the teams in the playoffs (no need to be the NBA etc) and, particularly, how much it diminished the 2nd seed.

I kinda agree. But the TV stations will do whatever the NFL tells them to do. Plus, there isn't a whole lot in January and February to schedule around.
Other way around… the nfl bends over backwards to keep their sugar daddies happy…

if they told the nfl to play without helmets on a minefield for a few more billions , I would seriously worry that the ****** at the nfl would at least think about it

The best proposal I've seen is this:

Week 18 as scheduled

1st week of playoffs:
NFC Wild card games
Buf @ CIN
AFC Bye

2nd week of playoffs
AFC Wild Card Games
NFC Bye week

I don't mind if they push the Superbowl back, but the league LOVES Media week so I think the bye will still be there.

Now the talk of an added team to the playoffs to each conference because of the cancelation of the Bills/Bengals game is interesting. If that happens....it drastically increases our chances of a berth into the playoff with a win on Sunday.

More football more money.

Brilliant
Let’s start a thread on what not to talk about

This was needed, lmao

But since you OBVIOUSLY want to talk playoffs we’ve got about a Tomlin”s chance Of winning a spot challenge in making the playoffs

And after a **** start I gotta say I LOvE those odds
