So what do we do? Think about it - the problem is that our 1st amendment provides absolute protection for genuinely-held religious beliefs so we are not going to "outlaw" Islam. But the problem is also that Islam is at the absolute heart of these maniacal, homicidal attacks. Every one of them - some Muslim went nuts, shouted "allah" whatever-the-****, and murdered citizens.

We cannot outlaw Islam, but Islam is central to these murders. So what do we do? Preclude immigrants from Muslim nations? What about those already here, or illegal immigrants? Seriously, I am at a loss as to a possible solution.

You can't and shouldn't outlaw Islam. But you can make illegal any system of law (Sharia) that is being held above the law of the land (US Federal, State and Local laws).

That is already the case in this nation. The "Supremacy clause" provides that any statute enacted by the United States Federal government supervenes any other "lower" law. Further, basically every state constitution has a similar "supremacy clause," mandating that any state ordinance or regulation takes precedence over and supersedes any law from a "lower" level, including Sharia or whatever-the-hell else.

Sharia law is a non-issue in this nation. Murderous Muslims are the issue.

So what do we do about them? I don't have an answer.
