The Coronavirus thread

Oh you did it now, Steeltime. Floggy gonna come back guns ablazing & lay you & your facts in the dirt.

Here's how seriously your Dem elites take this. Cali Governor, after essentially trying to ban Thanksgiving and telling people they have to wear masks in their own homes and between every bite of food, is out at an indoor private party, maskless. His kids are getting in person schooling too.

But he just made an off the cuff mistake, he says. Even though The French Laundry restaurant (even for the ultra wealthy) is a place where it may take weeks (or months) to get a reservation at. ******* hypocritical phonies.

Crap like this from him and Pelosi's haircut, the people who are supposed to be the most informed, makes you wonder how serious the 'Rona really is.

Well, we got word yesterday that one of the 9 elementary schools in our district is going remote starting today. It’s supposed to go through next Tuesday- our last day before fall break. 1/4 of the staff is out with Rona, but no kids. I have a feeling that not only will this 4 day closure do NOTHING, but that we also will be fully remote after Thanksgiving (all schools, not just secondary). Might I add that this school is in an “improvement district”, so it’s low income. Very few of the households have internet and even less have parental involvement. So this will be interesting to see what happens.

I was set to go on a cruise in January to Mexico, Belize and Honduras. It was cancelled yesterday because of the plandemic blue flu. The Dim commies are trying to collapse the economy again.

They want to tank it for the rest of the year so Joe can be the savior.

GF's son was sent home two weeks ago. He was "exposed to" the Rona. Some kid in one of his classes who sat either in front of or behind him got the KungFlu. The kid was tested the next day ... and turned up positive. So the school did their version of contact tracing and sent home every kid within 10-feet of that kid in all of his classes. Nevermind that those kids who were then "exposed to" went on their way that same day "exposing" other kids to their "exposure" of the BidenVirus.

testing? no, they didn't bother testing any of the kids sent home. nor suggest any kid get tested before coming back.

thankfully her son went back to school yesterday. the school sent/assigned bare minimal work for him to do while home. so playstation, youtube and whatever is on his phone were what he did on his staycation.

That’s what happened when I was “quarantined” at the end of September. Had a kid in our class go home with a fever. Tested positive the following Monday (he got sent home on a Thursday). Everyone in the classroom was considered a “close contact” and got sent home for 2 weeks. Granted, we are in a different scenario- our kids have special medical needs- but not one of our kids was told to test and we as staff weren’t told to test either. We stayed home and it was stupid.

You are the worst type of sniveling weasel. You are an idiot, who claims to have all the answers; a blithering moron, who lectures people vastly more accomplished than you; a know-it-all buffoon, too stupid to realize what an *** you are.

First things first, dumbshit. You may not know this, but Australia is a giant ******* island. They simply shut down travel into the country - you know, the thing you never once supported in the United States. Shut down the airports and harbors and nobody gets into the country, unlike the United States, where millions have simply ******* walked into the country.

Nobody walked into Australia.

https://covid19.homeaffairs.gov.au/travel-restrictions

Second, Australia was one of the last nations in the industrialized world to put in place a mask requirement, doing so only in late July. REPEAT, LATE JULY OF 2020.

https://www.theguardian.com/austral...9-why-our-health-advice-was-late-to-the-party

Third, the mask order was a non-issue in preventing the spread of the Chinese flu and recent study showed that masks have no statistically significant effect on the virus spreading or not spreading - as Ron earlier explained to you.

https://www.acpjournals.org/doi/10.7326/M20-6817

The study was released today, November 18, 2020 and basically confirms 100% what Ron said.

Fourth, the nation did not have a "national" mandate on gatherings, or intranation travel. Instead, each territory was allowed to govern itself, much like we did in the United States.

Fifth, Australia has rightly blamed CHINA for the ******* virus. CHY-NA. China has threatened retaliation for telling the truth. Still waiting for you to offer your FIRST ******* PARAGRAPH, no your first SENTENCE, no your first WORD criticizing China for the disease.

To sum up: You are an idiot who apparently did not know Australia is an island that imposed severe travel restrictions very, very early, had no national "mandates," where the largest cities waited on ordering masks until late July, where that was basically irrelevant since cloth masks don't do a ******* thing to stop the spread, allowed gatherings up to 500 people up through late April of 2020, and where you lick China's butthole like an ice cream cone, and were schooled by Ron two weeks ago, where a study showed (no surprise here) that Ron is correct, you are 100% wrong, and that you are lying, stupid freeloader.

LOL! I post four words, FOUR! That triggers you into posting a several hundred word nonsensical reply and I’M the one who lectures people? If you’re trying that hard to argue a point, you don’t have one.

Ron understands the purpose of masks about as well as that simple *****, Kristi Noem. Her state of 900 thousand has more Covid deaths than South Korea, a country of 50 million. I’m sure you’ll have another nonsensical explanation for that...

I will agree that Ron is a moron. One of ill-repute and lacking the ability to learn or even improvise.

From just EIGHT days ago. What’s the status of the tiny uptick now? Barely an “increase”?

Floggy, I'd be caught up in the dramaticism a little more if you weren't wearing 5 layers of bubble wrap around you. The CAPS are dramatic but I expect more from you.

They want to tank it for the rest of the year so Joe can be the savior.

Of course. That's why they will hold up any vaccine for as long as possible. Inflict as much human suffering as possible to the degree people will do anything to get life normal....and then...swoosh here they come to save the day.

Just a big game to them. They could give two ***** about anyone.

two companies pushing a vaccine with 95% cured
99.4% recover from this without the vaccine

second shutdown being pushed

tf what is going on?

oh. OrangeManBad. Must continue shutdown to heap more bullshit on outgoing President so that incoming career politician will look better to the sheeple who voted for him, after 47 years of do-nothing obscurity.

My Manager who lives in Germany, just got the Rona AGAIN. Different strain? WTF?

I'll ask you again, in your all knowing, never ending depths of wisdom...to share with us what South Korea DID that we have not? What practices did they adopt that worked where we failed?

Testing? Hmmmm.

South Dakota Tests per 1M population = 340,214
South Korea Tests per 1M population = 55,645

No, I don't think so. Can't be testing.

So what is it Floggy? Do tell? Or are you just randomly pointing to countries to make our response look bad? I am super, super, super curious what South Korea has done so well....besides being imminently and profoundly healthier than we are. They have an obesity rate of 4.7%. Ours is over 1/3 of our entire population at 36.2%.

Of course, health doesn't matter to you, because it doesn't confirm your bias.

So again, please...we are begging you...tell us what S Korea did we didn't that makes them so superior in their response to COVID.

A coordinated National effort of testing, contact tracing and mass isolation. They also didn’t have an idiotic leader mock mask wearing and ignore social distancing only to need to be hospitalized with it himself. They also didn’t have maskhole idiots turning mask wearing into some kind a political statement.

What does testing have to do with deaths? If anything that would reduce South Dakota’s Covid death toll due to undetected cases.

So South Dakota’s Covid death rate is 50 times higher because they have 8 times as many obese people? 50>8, Tim. And you call me biased...

Yeah, but no. What a load of non-specific horse **** and falsehoods. You really do know little of which you speak. Let's look at the facts.

Response to COVID-19 in South Korea and implications for lifting stringent interventions

After experiencing a sharp growth in COVID-19 cases early in the pandemic, South Korea rapidly controlled transmission while implementing less stringent national social distancing measures than countries in Europe and the USA. This has led to substantial interest in their “test, trace, isolate” strategy. However, it is important to understand the epidemiological peculiarities of South Korea’s outbreak and characterise their response before attempting to emulate these measures elsewhere.

Despite less stringent “lockdown” measures, strong social distancing measures were implemented in high-incidence areas and studies measured a considerable national decrease in movement in late February. Testing the capacity was swiftly increased, and protocols were in place to isolate suspected and confirmed cases quickly.

Whilst early adoption of testing and contact tracing is likely to be important for South Korea’s successful outbreak control, other factors including regional implementation of strong social distancing measures likely also contributed. The high volume of testing and the low number of deaths suggest that South Korea experienced a small epidemic relative to other countries.

-------------------

S. Korea Tests per 1M population - 55,645
USA Tests per 1M population - 522,961

We tested more. We implemented more severe lock downs and social distancing than they did. HOWEVER, we did do dumb *** **** like sticking COVID positive patients into nursing homes.

Fact remains, the only difference is a little better job at contact tracing - which, based on studies and my own daily work, is about as effective as mask-wearing.

As the researchers stated, they experienced, like Australia, a small epidemic related to other countries and implemented LESS STRINGENT social distancing measures.

Huh....????

You're a god damned genius Flog.

So South Dakota’s Covid death rate is 50 times higher because they have 8 times as many obese people? 50>8, Tim. And you call me biased...

Floggy still don't get numbers good.

You fail to realize the exponential increases in deaths you get by being obese.

A healthy person under 50 has a 99.99% chance of surviving. The flu is worse.
If you are mildly obese, you have a 10% higher chance of mortality.
If you are moderately obese, you have a 30% higher chance of mortality.
If you are severely obese, you have a 60% higher chance of mortality.

Apply those increases to 36.2% obesity in the USA v 4.7% of obese people in S. Korea, and you are in fact going to see "exponentially" more deaths in the fatter population. Exponential Flog. Not linear.
