Just a thought, the psychological impact of the viral hysteria will far outstrip the actual impact of the contagion. Let me draw out some Biblical examples. When the Israelites were in bondage in Egypt, they grew and prospered to the point that they were an existential threat to the hegemony of the host country according to the Biblical account. And yet, when Moses writes of the blessings and curses in Deuteronomy Chapter 28, we get this bit of insight:
15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
9 Then the Lord will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.
60 Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee.
Based upon the thriving demographic of the tribes of Israel and over 1,000,000 I would guess leaving in the Exodus, we still see they were terrorized by fear of plagues from the host country. It's hard wired into our psyche by experience and evolution. In fact, the plagues were turned on the Egyptians in the Exodus. Think about the Rod of Asclepius -- the snake on a pole -- image of the profession of medicine. Remember the story of Moses lifting up the serpent in the wilderness:
Numbers 21:9: "And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived."
Jesus would reference this in John Chapter 3:
13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."
The real weaponization of a plague or virus is not the plague itself, but the fear of it. The psyop and resulting collective panic and weakening of the populace. When the Israelite spies went into Jericho and were hidden by the harlot Rahab who was justified by faith and later listed in the genealogy of Christ, she said this in Joshua Chapter 2:
8 And before they were laid down, she came up unto them upon the roof;
"9 And she said unto the men, I know that the Lord hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you.
10 For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.
11 And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the Lord your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath.
12 Now therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by the Lord, since I have shewed you kindness, that ye will also shew kindness unto my father's house, and give me a true token:
13 And that ye will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death."
Some of you no doubt would scoff at the story of the Exodus. But, even for sake of argument it didn't happen? The people of the land believed it did and were paralyzed by fear and had no will to resist.
The bottom line in all of this? Jesus Christ has been lifted up on the pole and wants you to look unto him in this hour of trouble. Or as Paul wrote in Philippians:
6 Be anxiousl for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Hebrews Chapter 2 tells us that that fear of death brings bondage, but Christ has defeated the fear of death!
3 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.
14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
Our greatest virus is sin and death apart from Christ. It's 100% fatal spiritually.
Fear is a spirit that does not come from God:
"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and of a sound mind."
