Honestly, this hysteria is going to completely **** up the economy for a good deal of time, not due to the markets (which will bounce back as soon as wealthy folks start buying low-cost stock) but because of the massive number of layoffs that will occur due to the entire ******* service and education community being shut down for extended periods of time.

All those teachers, all those secretaries, all those waiters/waitresses, hotel maids, chefs, bartenders... every single one of them on unemployment... It's a ******* democrat dream.

And does it strike anyone as weird that China, a place with the 2nd largest world population and the epicenter for the outbreak has pretty much the lowest impact rate in the world? Hmmmm. Just sayin'...

This entire thing is utter media over-reaction bullshit.

Should we utilize social-distancing? Sure. Do we need to shut down our entire ******* economy? Jesus. Seriously?

As I said. When the U.S. death rate due to covid passes 1 million, we can start to be concerned. For us to have the panic that Italy is facing we'd have to lose what... 20 to 30 million people before we hit that 7%.

(Ya, I know. That's a bullshit number. Italy has seen 7% (apparently based on panicked news reporting) mortality rate among people confirmed with covid. Obviously 1300 deaths is NOT 7% of Italy's population. However it goes to show how stupid this overwhelming panic is.

If you're sick. Stay home. If you can't break your 103 degree fever after a few days and if you're having respiratory issues as well, THEN go to the doctor. Until then, stay home, drink fluids and rest. That's what they'd do for you anyway.

The panic is because the virus is a mutated pathogen that has no vaccine yet.
 
Again we owe China 1 trillion dollars... we should tell them we are taking 500 billion of that for ******* lying about this for a month and refusing to share data timely....

It shouldn't be. Mutations occur in viruses all the time. That's partly why they have a new influenza vaccine every year, the virus changes or 'mutates' (in addition to antibodies dying over time).

Now how truly infectious the virus is and it's true mortality/morbidity rate (which still seems a bit unclear), that causes uncertainty which causes panic. Add in social media where anyone can make a declaration about anything, whether it's true or false, well, there you have your mass hysteria. Like has been said, listen to the scientists, virologists & other medical experts and try to shut out all the other noise. Easier said than done but we have to do it to maintain as a country.

Wouldn't that possibly just mean the measures worked? That is once again the problem for policy makers, if what they do actually works they will get blamed for it not being needed. They are screwed from a political point of view.

I think this is all a desperation ploy by the globalists as a last ditch effort to try and prevent Brexit and a Trump second term. It’s not going to work. Look at who benefits from this. The big techs. Amazon and all streaming services / delivery win by killing off the brick and mortar mom & pops. Confine citizens to their homes and the economy crashes, making them dependent on government support. The factual stats do not warrant even a fraction of the hype and extreme actions that are going on. We just need to weather the storm and this will prove to be nothing but a blip on history’s radar. I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of the meager stats to date are actually coded to Kung instead of Seasonal. I’m not paranoid, I just look at reality. This is bullshit panic.

this is really screwing every person that lives paycheck to paycheck, has normal bills to pay and don't have large nest eggs to fall back on. Practically all industries have come to a halt. To top it off, they are saying this could go on through July and August. That is over half of 2020 we will be dealing with this ****.

For some perspective, the last time the market was this low was a month into Trump's term, February 6th 2017. Now I'm not saying it's not going to continue to bottom out, but look at the rest of that graph.

I bought a bunch of steaks at cost from our restaurant since we had to close on two hours notice. I’m on woman number 4 since I’ve been separated, around Thanksgiving. And I am thankful. But I took her out both Friday and Saturday of this past weekend. Now that restaurants are closed she has to come to my house for dinner. Ha ha ha ha! Yeah Kung Flu!

Took a page out Spike’s ****** up playbook there. I like it. Really though, this one is smokin’.
