The Coronavirus thread

To summarize the relevant data grifter Flog lies about, cuz traffic:

Number of Deaths reported 10/30/20: 1,049
Number of Deaths reported 11/11/20 (2 weeks later): 1,347

Somebody explain the numbers to Floggy.

So the deaths were 28.4% higher two weeks later. Strong argument, counselor.

You’ve had a long two weeks, haven’t you?

My dad was stuck in the ER at UC for 5 DAYS a month ago. 5 DAYS waiting on an a plastic surgeon to fix his cut face and eye. Not in a normal room but in an ER special surgical room. The UCMH ER is the biggest and busiest in the area. He said it was insane.

Cuts are very low priority in an ER unless you're bleeding out or something. Learned that 15 years ago when my 18 month old fell with a glass in his hand and cut his face.

Let me explain this in terms that even you can understand:

The increase in Chinese flu began eight weeks ago, and that increase is measured in hundreds of percent.

Death toll not close to keep tracking, even under the two-week lag. NOT. CLOSE.

Instead, cases increase 284%, deaths increase 24%. But Covid Flog argues, LOCKDOWN.

Didn't we have a lockdown, clown? So lockdowns work until they don't work, at which point we should have ... more lockdowns.

Because you make a lot of money off lockdowns, don't you, you Lockdown Clown. Isn't that right?

And to the Lockdown Clowns:

Do you or do you not continue earning the same or more money with lockdowns?? Answer the ******* question, since as of yet not a goddamn one of you has answered. So we know the answer, don't we?

The "lockdown" was pretty much a joke. Sure a lot of places were closed, but you could still goto grocery stores and what not. Also no one fully enforced people on the beaches and what not. would a full lockdown work? No one really knows. What we did was a half *** lockdown which was probably the worst case scenario.

Anybody who earns the same or more with a lockdown has no voice in the debate. None. You want to spend your own money, your own savings? None of my business. I don't care if you put your money in a blender and burn your house down.

You want to prevent me from making a living? **** off.

I'm not a proponent of lockdowns. I'm just saying that as the virus gets worse, Americans will lock themselves down, the government won't have to do anything.
3 weeks ago we were averaging 60K cases per day, and next 7 days can be more in the 140K per day range. 3 weeks from now deaths will likely be in the 3k
per day range. If that comes to pass, a lot more people will be staying in.

Where are you pulling that from? I, for example, go to Mexico regularly. I don't think about or give one **** about this virus. It's a nasty flu as far as I'm concerned.

If you weren't such a *****, you might think the same.

As a licensed death care professional, I am the last one who gets to stay home from work when a pandemic is killing people.
I have a rather comical picture from a few months ago where my truck is the only vehicle in the parking lot at the strip plaza where my office is.
The stupid cloth masks that I have to wear to get into Walmart and Giant Eagle do absolutely jack **** against the 'rona. An N95 will help a little if you have the 'rona to keep you from spreading it via cough or sneeze but the 'rona is many microns smaller than a cloth or N95 will stop. Want to protect yourself fully, you need one of these:

N95s are designed to mainly protect you not the way you stated. Also what type of filter do you think goes in that respirator you pictured? You can get a variety of filters depending on your needs including n95 filters. You will prob get a better fit with the face mask and you have the added eye protection, but if you have a proper fitting n95 then filtration is not much different.

Still gaps around the edges of an N95. They're better but not foolproof. I normally wear one of my two cloth masks, one says Steelers and the other says Masking Under Protest. I liked one I saw on Amazon that said This Mask Is As Useless As My Governor but they wanted $17 for it. I think our governor is a Libtard idiot but it's not worth $17 to me.

I have a steelers cloth mask, but my daughter accidently broke it, but I wore a surgical mask under it. Now I normally just pop on a surgical mask at the store. My gf has a cough (she has been tested a few times) and wears a KN95 currently, but going to the store with her is nice. One cough and it clears the aisle.

People are blaming school openings for the increase in cases. But do you know what else began in late August / early September? Influenza vaccinations.
Maybe all the increased traffic in and out of drug stores, where sick people are frequent visitors, may be contributing to the increase? There is no data or proof that this is true, just throwing the possibility out there.

Just received a message from our executive leadership team that teleworking for our US offices is now extended until June 1st. They have an item in the message talking about a pilot program they are working on to allow certain people in the office intermittently to work, but won't have the details on that until end of December. Eh, not too sure about going in here and there if I have to wear a mask all day and really wouldn't accomplish more than I do here at home. Most things I would have to do onsite hinges on there being a lot of people there, and that isn't happening anytime soon. It will be a hard transition once we go back to working on campus and I have to deal with the ****** commute again.

Then you’re not wearing it properly.

Ron just laid out his credentials. I'd suspect that while you may be correct that he's not wearing the mask correctly, or, rather that it's not fitting him correctly, you then have to weigh that against the vast population who are NOT licensed professionals. ******* pulling their shirt up over their mouths to run into a store, yeah, they're not giving much of a **** about what's going on.

Though you should also be aware that the little ******* mask does very little to help prevent the spread. If that little ******* mask worked as well as you and the rest of the idiot politicians have said, then explain to me - in any terms you want - why epidemolgists wear PPE to include covering every pore of their skin as possible when dealing with viruses in a lab. Brain fart - this escaped from a lab. You do know that the mask does not, in any way at all, prevent the virus from entering the body via the eyes, right? So while you're huffing and puffing, beating on your chest like some uber elite ape thinking you're doing your part to prevent the spread since you're wearing a mask, know for a fact that if you're exhaling the virus while wearing a mask that it does NOT just cling to the fibers of the mask. The virus particulates will disperse downward and backwards. **** that guy walking behind you. Unless he's wearing PPE that surrounds his head like a goddamned fish bowl, he's likely going to contract the virus you say you're not spreading.

Dipshit.

Didn't we have a lockdown in July? And masks?

Because they’re working in close proximity to large amounts of the virus.

When don’t they wear hazmat suits to the grocery store? Lemme guess, in your demented idea of the world, they do.
