The head coach search

Jesse minter it’s a done deal… theres a picture tomlin with minter sr and jr…. Rumors started then inside the Steeler org… it’s a Done deal!

He's as good as gone, probably the entire staff.
No coach will come and be forced to keep coordinators, maybe 1 or 2 position coaches max.

Tomlin smartly kept Dick Labeau, but I’m sure it was 100% up to him.

No one will keep Austin 😂

Two year booth stint... they get his rights during the option year as well.. i dont feel he will sit out two cycles even if he does this year
Id be willing to bet a hell if a lot they weren't picking up his option. They made a face save deal and he is one year in media.

I'd take Kubiak or Shula long before Brian Flores. He was terrible in Miami and he's an arrogant ***! Let his *** stay in Minnesota!
Absolutely. Flores failed in Miami and made a fool of himself.

I’m all in on Kubiak. In his first year in Seattle the offense is 3rd in Scoring and 7th in total yards. With Sam Darnold who is on his 5th😲 team. I’ll take me some of that

My guess is that the Steelers start the process ASAP since they're the last one to the dance and they don't want to lose out on a quality guy. Working for them is that most teams in the market are looking for a Tomlin-type and the Steelers need the antithesis of Tomlin, a younger offensive mind who can develop a QB.

Just heard on NFL Network that the Ravens are running candidates by Lamar for approval and he will sit in on interviews. So, that tells you Lamar fired Harbaugh.

He should go by Lebron Jackson now.

That would be very hard for me to have a player involved in picking my teams’ HC. LeBron Jackson could be out of football on any given play. I also think LeBrn will be out of football in less than 6 years.

Given the rumors about Shula and one or two other coaches, I think the initial process already started.

honestly someone fill me in here.

Why you guys all putting Stefanski on your lists. Cleveland had the best Defense in NFL or top 5 ,, whatever.. Their offense was just bad. He had plenty of chances to draft a qb that was decent.

I dont want that dude.. Why would you?
Stefanski was completely hamstrung by the awful Watson trade. I think he’s a really good coach. Don’t know if he’d be my favorite or not but we could do a lot worse.

Year-by-Year Breakdown of Flores in Miami:
  • 2019: 5-11
  • 2020: 10-6 (led team to playoffs in some years)
  • 2021: 9-8 (finished strong after a 1-7 start, but fired shortly after)
  • Defensive Prowess: Under Flores, the Dolphins' defense significantly improved, moving from last in the league to a top-10 unit in consecutive seasons.
So, it appear that Miami was a better team his last year at the helm than it was when he took over. Given what he's done for the defenses in Miami and Minnesota while at those places, the Steelers can't afford not to at least bring him in/conduct a video interview. I mean, when is the last time this team has been top 10 in defense or offense? Hell, we should have hired him as our DC before he left for Minnesota

Also, please clarify. When you have seen him being demonstrably arrogant?

Watching the game last night, the camera panned to the booth with the Deuce and Kahn, alone, as things were going to ****......I hope they had already made their minds up in that room.

Absolutely. Flores failed in Miami and made a fool of himself.

He "failed" in large part because Dolphins management and ownership tried to undermine him to land higher draft picks.

It was a ****** up situation in which the Dolphins still managed to win 9 games in Flores last season.

Though defensive oriented, he is considered to be very innovative and has the personality to set a strong culture.

He definitely deserves another shot to coach somewhere with more patient and less meddlesome ownership.

The same with Stefanski.

I hope Andy Weild stays on board, in my mind he has a great deal to do with drafting and building.

Indiana coach Cignetti was born in Pittsburgh. Just sayin.

It turned out pretty well the last time a Pittsburgh native was hired..

Although I do remember many fans crying for Cowhers head for being unable to win “the big one”.

Maybe Mike McCarthy would like to come back home?

Former Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy is currently
a hot commodity in the NFL coaching market for the 2026 season, interviewing with teams like the New York Giants and Tennessee Titans,

NFL coach Mike McCarthy is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; he was born and raised in the city's Greenfield neighborhood, grew up a big Steelers fan, and has strong family ties to the area, even starting his coaching career at the
University of Pittsburgh

If he’s such a big Steeler fan, why the **** did he let his Packers beat his favorite team in the SB??

My opinion..,no. Too old and too fat.
