The official DOGE TRACKER is here!

Majorie Taylor comment about fed employees not deserving their paycheck was taken out of context imo.
She had a Trump moment by her poor choice of words.

Keep in mind she made her comment during a Government reform and Oversight meeting.
What I think she was implying was that generally speaking the paychecks received is not of equal value to what a federal employee produces, which is nothing…hence “doesn’t deserve”.
Doesn’t merit, or doesn’t reflect, would be better choices. She says they can be fired implying that we wouldn’t miss a beat if they were.
That’s the best that I can put it.
She employs staff members herself, so I’m sure she believes that not all do not deserve paychecks. She was making a generalization.
The irony in her statement is that a do nothing politician has the nerve to tell anyone that they don’t deserve a job or paycheck. She’s the female version of Trey Gowdy in that she talks a lot, but not much else. Not sure if she gives stern, disappointed looks though.

I understand your point, but a "do nothing politician" or not, someone has got to talk about it. This is a DOGE issue, so I'm not sure what she could do, she was only there to support it.

One thing about Trey Gowdy, at least he was always right.

What good is being right if you do nothing about it?

Has nothing to do with this issue other than her quote and lack of action on anything. She’s a soundbite politician, much like AOC. As far as I’m concerned, she’s stealing her paycheck just as much as anyone else. That’s the irony. Maybe we should cut congress by 50%. It’s not like they do much other than waste taxpayer money.

Dear lord, she is not remotely close to AOC.

I didn’t say just being right is good enough. I said AT LEAST he was right.
But I’ll tell you what he did, he made people listen.

I wouldn't say cut congress, but I would say make them work more. They still yake crazy long breaks multiple times a year. I read somewhere where congress works on average about 135 days a year.
I would get that if they still took a few weeks to get home via horse and buggy

I figure the less days that they work the less harm they can do.

What has the United States congress done in the last 10 years that didn’t either waste money or benefit someone other than the people that paid for it? What are they doing that half of them couldn’t do? They certainly don’t listen to their constituents. There is no rational argument to keep all of them on full time. They do nothing of any benefit to America. They act like overlords entitled to our money for their personal gain. They believe they are the ruling class. **** every one of them.

Hell, MTG saying that federal workers do nothing but siphon money from people with “real jobs.” Do I not pay taxes? What the hell does she do? What do any of them do but waste time and money? Seems they are stealing money from everyone. It’s rich anyone in congress accuses anyone else of not having a “real job.”

It is. You’re right. After thinking about this for a little bit I guess deep down I really don’t give a **** what anyone else thinks. I got bills to pay and mouths to feed. I have a career that I love and I do it well. I don’t know why I felt the need to defend myself over something I have no reason to defend myself about. Guess I got overly sensitive. Sorry for whining. It won’t happen again.
perhaps whiskey induced feelings? :ROFLMAO:

Up to $105 billion.
Still a long way to go.

Meh, the Dems have their bomb-throwers and we have ours.

Reading that they are getting ready to lay off between 70,000 and 83,000 employees from the VA, of which roughly 25% are disabled veterans. I'm torn on this one. On one hand, the current staffing could be hurting efficiency. On the other hand, too few people could hurt efficiency. The VA is slow as hell as it is. I hope this doesn't make it worse. Our veterans deserve quality health care. I support whatever gets us to that point. I just hope there is a plan in place once all of these people are laid off.

I will wait to see what really happens here. Too many people running their mouths about things that may not even happen, or things they haven’t a clue about.

There’s a lot of people at the VA that are just there for make work. In fact, a lot are just excessive layers of bureaucracy that really do nothing but slow things down further. The fact is we cant afford to featherbed every position in every department of every agency.
