The Official Thread Dedicated to "Trump Winning"

Read an article this morning that as much as 25% of the electorate is willing to vote 3rd party. People are sick of the noise and the problems democrats and republicans continuously make. It's time for something new.

That would be glorious but I don’t think this will be the year... Jo doesn’t have the name recognition of gary on the libertarian side and most of the people who were enthusiastic about him aren’t voting or switched to trump ... if any third party could get over 5% of the vote it would mash open the monopoly the two evil parties have had for some time though...

No it wouldn't. Ross Perrot elected Clinton and kept him in office a second term by getting 19% his first run. Did phase the parties at all. The reason is that who ever the non-party candidate is will be seen as left or right. They will pull that only one side. Which means the other party will win.

Yep, you beat me to it.

Let's see how this group of screeching, left-wing, liberal communists feel about the President. Oh wait...

The funniest thing about that ad is it's pretty effective until it cuts to Joe Biden at the end.

Wah, wah, waaah....

Trump is stupid but compared to Biden he looks like a ******* genius.

National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien: Trump Should Be Frontrunner For Nobel Peace Prize

National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien said Thursday that President Trump should be considered the frontrunner for the Nobel Peace Prize because of the peace deal between the United Arab Emirates and Israel.

"It’s really remarkable when you step back and take a look at what this President has done on the peace front," O'Brien said at the press briefing on Thursday. "And it wouldn’t surprise me — it’ll take some time in this environment — but it wouldn’t surprise me if the President is eventually nominated for a Nobel Prize."

"Today’s work is an example of why he would be rightly considered and should be a frontrunner for the Nobel Peace Prize," he added.

MR. O’BRIEN: So, thank you to Jared for that summary. And it’s — it’s been extraordinary work by a number of fine diplomats, working under President Trump’s leadership, to arrive at today’s outcome. Jared Kushner has been at the forefront of those efforts. Avi, Brian Hook, and others have — have put in just — just tremendous work, under the President’s direction, to get where we are here today.

And I know, Jared, you’re not a — you don’t have a diplomat-title or ambassador title, but we don’t have the finer ambassador, especially in the region, than Advisor Kushner. So thank you for those — those remarks and for the really incredible effort.

I want to start by congratulating, today, the President of the United States; the Prime Minister of Israel, Bibi Netanyahu; and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed. This is a remarkable achievement, and they’ve been — the achievement is now — will now be known in history as the “Abraham Accords,” or the “Ibrahim Accords” in the Muslim countries, or the “Avraham Accords” in Israel.

It’s something very special. It’s something that doesn’t happen very often. Very few of my predecessors, as National Security Advisor, have been able to come to this podium to announce a peace deal in the Middle East. It’s a — it’s a very rare thing.

As I said earlier in the Oval Office today, the President is going to be known in history as one of the change makers and one of the remarkable leaders in the Middle East. And that’s not something that you may have thought of when he came into office. But one of his very first steps was repairing our relationship with Israel, which had been badly damaged, especially in the last month of the prior administration.

The President did something that was unheard of. Many presidential candidates, going back two decades, had promised that if they were elected, they would move the United States Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. President Trump had the courage to do it, and he developed wonderful credibility and a reservoir of goodwill in Israel.

He recognized the Golan Heights as being Israeli territory, and — and took those away from a very — what could have been a very destabilized situation that we’ve seen develop in Syria.

He destroyed the physical caliphate of ISIS, which, Jared had said, was the size of Ohio. It was — it stretched across the Middle East, and terror reigned because of the caliphate.

He brought justice to al-Baghdadi, who had killed so many Americans: Sotloff and Mueller and Kassig and Foley.

He put maximum pressure on Iran and — and cut off much of the terrorist funding that was going to the proxy wars in Yemen, in Hezbollah, in Lebanon, in Syria, and throughout the region.

And today, we have the — the Abraham Accords. He’s brought peace to the Middle East, at least peace between the UAE and Israel. And what I have said is the President is often known as the greatest dealmaker, and he wrote the book “The Art of the Deal.” And he’s considered a great, great dealmaker, which he is.

But I think history is going to remember the President for being a great peacemaker. He brought peace to Israel and the UAE. He has signed a — his diplomat signed a historic accord in Afghanistan. I want to remind people that we haven’t had an American casualty in combat in Afghanistan since February 29th.

He used his offices and his — his pressure to stop Idlib from being overrun in Syria, and brought a ceasefire agreement when — when Turkey had invaded Northern Syria.

A lot of people said that when he came into office that there would be war in North Korea. But through personal diplomacy, he’s — has kept that situation from — from turning into a kinetic event.

So, it’s really remarkable, I think, when you — when you step back and take a look at what this President has done on the peace front. And it wouldn’t surprise me — it’ll take some time in this environment — but it wouldn’t surprise me if the President is eventually nominated for a Nobel Prize for the — this — today’s work is an example of why he would be rightly considered and should be a frontrunner for the Nobel Peace Prize.

A pretty big deal (not that our own American media would ever say so):

SHANGHAI/SEOUL—Ramped-up U.S. restrictions on Huawei are likely to choke the Chinese company’s access to even off-the-shelf chips, threaten its position as the world’s largest smartphone maker, and disrupt global tech supply, executives and experts warned.

The Trump administration expanded its curbs on Huawei on Monday and banned suppliers from selling chips made using U.S. technology to the firm without a special license—closing potential loopholes in its May sanctions that could have let Huawei access the tech via third parties.

The curbs underscore the growing rift in Sino-U.S. ties as Washington presses governments to squeeze Huawei out over fears the company would hand over data to Beijing for spying. Huawei denies it spies for China.

“If the choking of Huawei continues there will be reverberations across the semiconductor complex,” said Neil Campling, head of TMT research at Mirabaud Securities. “And the retaliation from China remains unknown and a significant risk.”

The tech giant’s business has suffered since America first blacklisted it a year ago.

If Huawei cannot source chipsets as a result of the expanded curbs, its “handset business will likely disappear,” Jefferies said in a note.

Other brokerages, including JP Morgan, echoed that view, adding this would give players such as Xiaomi and Apple an opportunity to increase their market share.

Huawei did not respond to requests for a comment.

Earlier this month, Huawei flagged it would stop making its flagship Kirin chipsets from September because U.S. pressure on its suppliers had made it impossible for its HiSilicon division to keep making the chipsets that are key components in mobile phones.

Huawei’s HiSilicon division has relied on software from U.S. companies such as Synopsys to design its chips. It outsourced the production to Taiwanese contract chipmaker TSMC, which uses equipment from U.S. companies.

Impact on Chip Suppliers
The U.S. ban represents a setback for chip suppliers too, at least in the near term, as they have to apply for licences that comply with the new rules, experts said.

It is yet unclear how many suppliers require these licences and whether they will get them.

In Asia, memory chipmakers including South Korea’s Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, Japanese image sensor maker Sony, and Taiwanese chipset maker MediaTek may be affected, a chip industry source said.

Shares in MediaTek, which counts Huawei as a major customer, slumped 10 percent on Tuesday.

MediaTek said it was monitoring new developments of rules to remain in compliance, but that it did not expect a material impact to near-term operations, based on available information.

In Europe, German chipmaker Infineon, which counts Huawei as a key customer for its power management products, and Austrian sensor specialist ams said they were reviewing the impact of the latest U.S. restrictions.

European tech stocks were firmer, however, reflecting their relatively low exposure to Huawei, which accounts for 7 percent of sales at ams, 3 percent at Infineon and 4 percent at STMicroelectronics, according to figures cited by Mirabaud’s Campling.

Who Will Be the Winners?
Several questions remain about the how the new curbs will be implemented, and how hawkish a stance Washington plans to take.

For example, a semiconductor vendor would “potentially be required to know where all its products end up so they do not engage in any transaction where a Huawei affiliate might be a purchaser, intermediate consignee, ultimate consignee or end-user,” political risk consultant Eurasia Group said in a note.

But there are likely to be some winners in the longer term if Huawei is forced to relinquish its spot as the world’s largest smartphone maker.

“Huawei currently has 45-50 percent market share in China and, if this becomes vulnerable, Xiaomi, along with Oppo and Vivo, are likely to be the biggest beneficiaries,” JP Morgan analyst Gokul Hariharan said, referring to Chinese smartphone makers.

“Huawei would also be likely to lose further ground in the international smartphone space and 5G base stations, both of which could benefit Samsung. The Apple food chain could also benefit from potential iPhone share gains.”

TSMC, which has said it would not ship wafers to Huawei after Sept. 15, will be slightly hurt in the long run, Bernstein said in a note. “TSMC is ‘everybody’s foundry’ eventually.”

The ban is also likely to affect U.S. chipmakers such as Qualcomm, but those losses are likely to be offset in the longer term as Huawei’s rivals gain ground, analysts said.

Not sure why some are confused what Trunp's second term agenda will be. It's quite clear it will be just more golfing, tweeting and watching TV. Actually win or lose, it will be just those 3 things.

We thank you for your insightful, well thought out vision, taking time out from your Pulitzer efforts to inform the masses.
Well done!

Serious question here. Did you have a problem with this when Obama did it? Asking for a friend.

So Tibs, what do you suppose we will learn from his tax returns. I mean, I can probably guess what you are hoping for, but honestly, what do you think the tax returns will tell us?

So Tibs, what do you suppose we will learn from his tax returns.

I presume we'll find out why Trump has gone to extraordinary measures - literally gone to hell and back, for years on end - to desperately keep them sealed from prosecutors and avoid public scrutiny. As the saying goes, if you have nothing to hide..... Why not release your returns like every damn presidenital candidate has for decades? Something doesn't add up, but it never does, with Trump. That dude has more skeletons in the closet than possibly any other living human being on the planet, besides maybe Vladimir Putin.
