The rumors are starting...

My trade to MIA for Wilson?

Waddle
2025 Rd 1
2026 Rd 2

They need a QB, have a deep WR room and can still win with who they have.
See this makes sense if you want us to deplete depth it better be a damned good offer.

If they were to trade Wilson to Miami, I would want a 3rd AND Huntley, at a minimum.

I guess if it makes sense ok. However, if they are serious about making a run, don’t trade him. Yes, Kyle Allen can get you out of a stadium, but don’t know if I like him for a several game stretch. Personally, I keep Russ, it’s a long season

no way in He!! do you get a 1st and 2nd for a partial year QB rental, let alone a good WR too.
The key part of this is he is only a partial year QB. so If I got even a second round pick for a player that may or may not play this year and will be 100% gone next year if Fields keeps doing what he is doing. well bye bye Russ see you on the other side.

Don't get me wrong I love what I am seeing so far but lets not kid ourselves we have seen this movie before. so at this point I am hopeful but I still am not sold on us being contenders.

Lets say Justin turns out to be our future, a first or second gets you a big time weapon for him in next years draft. if some how you get a first, well there you go, it's like Christmas shopping with someone else's credit card.

I dont think the Casual fan truly appreciates the value of Wilson's contract...
He makes league minimum... ie save for some rookie deals, you cant spend less on him... Miami has 22 million in cap space this season, but only 2 next year... they are counting on much of that space to roll over

Getting a Josh Dobbs type costs more than 2x what Wilson makes... you arent getting anyone comparable for less than 5 million...

This isnt a yard sale... you arent looking to dump the player... you ask high and hold onto him if they dont want to pay

Given the start from Fields, why wouldn't Wilson take a trade to MIA now? He'll, he could probably cut a 2/3 year deal with Ross just to waive his no trade. That would certainly make him worth a 1st.

MIA is a very nice setup for his skills, and they need help right now and then next year. He probably has better leverage now because of MIA's need than if he actually plays for the Steelers and isn't lights out.

I think she should think about the latest thongs in Black and Gold.😀

I could be her official fit and visual assistant…….. Also I have certification in non-restrictive fabrics.

No different from Wilson you don’t delete depth especially at critical positions. It just doesn’t make football sense for a team contending.
I would be shocked if they traded Wilson. If they make a trade with Wilson and it blows up in their face, it won’t be pretty in the Steel city.

Steelers 3-0 start changes everything. Not just a lucky 3-0 where you played bad teams or won on fluke play, but solid wins. You could say they were dominant vs the chargers. This is despite having OL injuries and being without Roman Wilson. That means this team should only get better.

The Steelers are real contenders this year. The dolphins show the danger of not having a good backup QB. I do think Kyle Allen is a decent backup in this system so I’m not against trading Wilson, but you better get something big for him.

I would trade him for Waddle or Tyreek. Or I’d trade him for a 2nd rounder, no less. Are those trades fair for Miami? No but that’s what it would cost to make yourself thin at QB while you have playoff expectations.

Russ is not worth a 1st or 2nd. And they should not give up a reliable backup for a 3rd or less. So no trade

Miami has no leverage. If they want to be competitive... they need a QB.

In this particular scenario, Russell is ABSOLUTELY worth a 1st or a 2nd.

I don't want to wait on that, personally. I want a guaranteed WR#2 in Waddell.

Every single player has a price.. if a team called tomorrow and offered their next five drafts in their entirety for TJ Watt, you do it in a heartbeat.. if they offer the First plus plus he is probably realistically valued at, you laugh and hang up...

And prices change dramatically based on cap, contention, need, and contract length

If you had a guy with a ten million dollar per year contract fully guaranteed for the next two years, and you had to move them to open up cap space, and nobody was looking to trade for them, you might want to pay a team to take them on ... you decide what ten million in cap space over two years is worth to you, and send that with the player for a conditional seventh or a bit player or something else trivial... lets say thats worth a second round pick...
the player's value with that contract is negative
But you are packaging them with a pick to get them and their cap hit off the roster....

So Wilson, with his tiny contract, is going to be more valuable than an experienced starter of equal talent signed to a big money deal.. but only to a contending team that has to save cap and needs a qb
