This is on ownership and ultimately the fans who accept it

It does somewhat imply an acceptance towards a level of performance that is not up to the standards of the franchise, but Art 2 isn't his dad.
AR2 is the typical 3rd generation business owner, the one that runs it in to the ground.

What we saw today and the end last year was as hit show of injuries. Not sure if you can blame anyone for that. Yes the offense had and has issues but they were addressed and the despite the slow start the jury should still be out. Both last year and this year if we have our full stable of defenders we likely win more games. We could easily be 3-0 with everyone healthy. I am not sure what the hell is going on with all the injuries. Is there a problem with the practice fields? I m not really sure what more you think Dan or the Chief would have done differently at this point.
The injuries are just MASKING the underlying problems, that is the coaching.

Sometimes you make good decisions sometimes you make bad. I put little on the Rooney's perhaps short of not knowing when to cut bait. But from their perspective they put out a winning product that bring home the bacon. Not the full course meal lately but the bacon has remained on the table. Every QB meets his end every HC meets his end. Perhaps it is time for a fresh look in both areas. It happens it isn't a knock on either mention. For the here and now that Oline needs tweeked. The answer is to shake it up. Perhaps throw some experience at it. Pick up a vet T and let Green sit and watch a little. The two biggest areas of preseason concern has remained at T and CB. These are fail areas that need better results by hook or by crook.

At what point did I make reference to Steelers future for next 3 years?

Well youre damn sure quick to reference the steelers 50 years past.

I don't know if they misjudged and instead went with the cheap option. The Steelers did this before when they drafted Mendenhall and Sweed before winning a Super Bowl with one of the worst offensive lines in the league. They fell in love with Harris early in the draft process and seemed to believe a top running back would fix the ground game even with a bad offensive line. Sure DeCastro seemed to surprise them and Turner seemed like a fair replacement. They also were firm on starting Green at center. They probably didn't expect Dotson was going to underperform and of course, as you said, thought Banner would be at RT. Having Chuks as a part of the starting line is just a terrible decision all around.
They planned on Chuks at LT… thats the scary part

Very. He was their worst OL last year and that was an already weak group they were working with. Even more frustrating with such a deep draft at tackle.

I'm afraid the OL needs more than tweaking and where are you going to get the experience in the form of an experienced vet without mortgaging your future? QB is the most critical need at this point and I'm thinking this season may get us into the top 10 for drafting. I really thought Rudolph would be a decent backup but it's clear by now that he'll never be more than an emergency backup - Charlie Batch and Byron Leftwich were decent backups and had starting experience on other teams. Rudolph has never reached that level although I'd really like to see if Haskins has anything to offer.

Was listening to Cook and Poni today and they made the point, a valid one I think, that the team grossly misjudged the OL this year and it's on Colbert as much as anybody. They thought Banner would be back (he's not), they thought DeCastro would be back (he's not), and they thought Chuks would be a serviceable tackle (he's not).
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Chuks has played better than you (ppl in general) think.

Listen, I’m not advocating him to be in Pro Bowl, but he’s not the weak link he’s made out to be. Not according to tape I’ve watched.

Colbert is a VP & not just a GM.

Will he continue GM duties? Heck, for all we know he’s transitioned a lot of authority to someone else. Happened when Tom Donahoe took over. Steelers are tight lipped about a lot of these things.

Just think he’s gonna be around in a capacity and influence given the VP status.

Because past performance is one o...ally struggle to grasp the obvious don’t you?

There is some options out there that wouldn't break the bank. Some Ts some C's. As far as QB yeah that comes in the draft or free agency next year. If you have Turner, Banner, and Big Dot manning spots. Moore improving perhaps tweaked is enough. But yeah sure T/G/ and QB is in the near future. I would prefer CB in free agency.

The Rooney's no longer care about fielding a good team, just a mediocre team that can get warm bodies in the stadium. The fact that the fans still support this mediocrity assures nothing will change. While I consider Tomlin a big part of the problem, if a non-losing season is good enough then he is doing his job.

Anyone could have seen this coming a mile away - a complete revamp of the offensive line with rookies, free agents, and a few holdovers and now an injured linebacker is the highest paid player on the team. No plans for a future at QB unless Dwayne Haskins pans out after being fired from the team that drafted him in the first round.
I've said this before. 3rd owner of a family business. Art Rooney II sucks. Fire Tomlin ,and Canada. We'll have the pick of coaches to replace him.

BACON

a true staple in football lore......................................

Bogus blaming the fans they are at the game and in front of the TV giving it their all ,to bad the team does not do the same. You do have to question the ownership when we have seen in the last at least five years complete melt down, this year is continuation of last so far. This coaching staff has not done their job and for some reason ownership is letting it slide. No coaching up the players , head coach you wonder what his game plan is, make a questionable change in bringing Canada as OC, total lack of any leadership, total lack of any emotion, just a flat team. Starts on the OL as far as the team and they just have produced nothing so nothing else works in this offense, Teams crowd the line because they know we cannot block our own mothers let alone another NFL player. Time for a big shake up and ownership seems to be looking the other way

Green is not a tackle. But at this point, I say they just get the reps, they will get better. If not, then clean house next year.

Have you ever considered that Cool Shades may not be able to attract quality up and coming coach talent?

So far it's where coaches go to die............................. Haven't seen much post Tomlin coaching action other than pre-established coaches. Haven't seen any "robbing" of cordinators either.?

I wasn't suggesting Green was a T, I meant that he should sit and backup C as well as bring in a T. If they sit on their hands and try to wait out the rookies development it won't be doing the here and now any favors. If they are going to act like they are in a rebuild phase then Sask is right they should have never brought Ben back.

Why is green the topic here when the whole line is sucking . Might be better off to look at green at guard. And I agree with bringing in outside tackle help.
