This win feels real empty, doesnt it?

When you get to be my age, you still think about it quite a bit. You'll even get good and randy on occasion. But then the pain in your shoulder or knee or back makes the chair you are sitting in feel pretty damn comfortable.

My wife has no idea or care what I post here.
You’ve told us otherwise before.

Show her that menopause post from this thread, then get the couch ready to sleep on 😀

He won immediately. Whether anyone says who players they were he still won and went back again. You can make an argument he has gotten stale but that doesn't take away the fact he has proven he is a competent good coach. Good enough to go the HoF. That makes him more than what Kentucky bleats endlessly even if you want him replaced.
I was just eluding to the pre-hire not his coaching after the hire. He did well initially and then faded or as you say got stale.

The biggest reason was Hamilton going out, the offense was really struggling until he went out, then their best CB went too.

Bob Pompeani is now saying the Steelers will win easily Monday, Joe Starkey saying the Steelers will shut them out and Baltimore was the toughest team they'll face the rest of the way, WTF? These are the Homers that drive me crazy lol.

The Fan is engagement farming. After every loss they cry for everyone to be fired, after every win they're playing the Pittsburgh Steeler Polka song. If they get beat like I expect, 24-6 or so, they'll flip 180 again.

I have? You gotta be confusing me with someone else on that.
If your schtick is being a know it all douche maybe should pay more attention to the garbage you post:

I cannot express enough the joy I get out of you calling me refined. I told my wife her husband is considered refined. She doesn't agree. Oh, well, you think so. That's enough for me. They aren't tiny flaws. Sometimes arguments leave a hole in them that a Mack truck can be driven through...

You two sound like an old married couple. Get a room.

Or you and the other Tomlin jizz guzzler in this thread could work on not being a condescending *** hijacking threads and telling people not to follow the team if they don’t do cartwheels every time they eek out a win
Jesus I was simply making a joke. Lighten up a bit.

They’re just doing their job man.
They’re basically sales people and they’re trying to drum up some business. Can’t fault a man for that..

Can still call them homers, bandwagon jumpers, whatever term you'd like, they were firing everyone after the Browns lost.

Empty? Naw…

We won and I get to watch all the Tomlin haters meltdown

I spent early December travelling in Europe. Steelers/Bills and Steelers/Ravens were the games impacted by my trip.

I was able to stream the 1st half of Steelers Bills but went to bed at half time as it was like 1AM. The next morning I started reading about the Bills running the same play like 27 times and the Steelers could not stop it. The same ******* play! I was grateful that I went to bed.,

For the Ravens game I was in Rome and it was very difficult to find a steam so I watched a YouTube broadcast of some Jarboni giving play by play. Not optimal, but it worked. The Ravens game gave me hope.

When I returned we handled the Dolphibs on MNF. When I was younger I was excited for MNF. It was a guaranteed game that I could watch. Now, I LOATHE them.

34 years ago I was the President of the Steelers fan Club in WS NC. I would get hammered during the games. It was a lot of fun. 33 Years ago I made a decision to quit drinking. What I discovered was that when sober, a stressful Steeler game would kick my ***, particularly a poorly officiated loss on a MNF game. It was worse than a hangover the next day. I would feel it. As I got older a loss like that I would feel for 2-3 days of total *** dragging.

Before the Lions game I said that this is the type of "shock the world" statement game that the Steelers would win in the Tomlin era, I also added that the Browns game the following week is the typical "**** the bed loss" the Steelers would crap out during the Tomlin era.

Bingo!

The Lions game damn near killed me, Afterwards, I went for a walk for some fresh mountain air. My chest was tight, my shoulders were tight. I have not felt that much stress since the Colts playoff game when Bettis fumbled at the ******* goal line and Ben made the shoestring tackle. I laid on my couch until halftime of the next playoff game.

I remember the Penguins Red Wings final game when the Pens won the Stanley Cup. I remember at 5 minutes to go, going out for some mountain air and watching through the window on my front porch. 2 minutes to go I am on the street, watching the game through the front window on the porch.

True to form, the Steelers **** the bed against the Browns. To me, that was the last straw. It is one thing if the Steelers lose a hard fought game against a division rival. But the product sucks. It is a joke and rival fan bases laugh at it. We do not attack the middle of the field, we avoid it. We repeat the same mistakes over, and over, and over yet again. It is not enjoyment it is pure frustration watching the team.

It is not Canada, it is not Fearful Fichtner, nor is it Pickett, Hodges, Rudolph, or Tribusiky. It is all on Tomlin. And Rooney2.

Last night, after the goal line debacle to end the first half. When we should have taken the 3, to offset the 3 that we gifted when we should have punted. I went to bed, same old ****, same old Steelers. I do not regret it one bit.

I am elated that we won, that I was able to watch the game this morning knowing that we won. and that I did not stress my *** out at bed time. I have to drive to the coast today,

Go Steelers!
Boy, this sounds familiar. Watching games through windows, taking walks mid game and so on. That Indy, Bettis fumble game that I watched sober left my lab traumatized every time she heard a football game on TV. She would retreat to the bedroom and no, I wasn’t taking it out on her.

i was visiting Pittsburgh with my son when the Penguins and Predators faced off for the cup. The opening game I bought tickets for my son and nephew. I watched the game at my mother’s home. With about 5 minutes to go, I left and began walking around the block, I could hear people inside homes yelling and cheering so I was pretty sure things were going well. I ran into a guy standing on his front lawn smoking a cigarette, I said “can’t take it huh,” we both broke out laughing.

Anyway, I’ve gotten to the point that I can’t watch, I record and peak at my phone. I’ve mentioned this previously but it just takes it out of me and I’m too old to be drinking throughout the game unless the game coexists with a holiday gathering or some other celebration. I’m almost at the point in life where I feel cursed for caring so much even while I try to convince or ask myself who gives a sh$t.

Oh, man. That was a joke. The most i talk to my wife about anything Steeler is when she asks me if they won.

This morning I could say yes!

I'm pretty chill over the whole thing. No reason to be overly excited. Now if they win at home next week. I'll certainly be elevated for the next game.

If they win the divisional round. Then my super fan mode will kick in for the AFCCG. That's a looooong way off.

So I'm chill. We've been here many, many, many times before.

The Steelers swept their rival on national TV to close out the NFL regular season all while clinching a playoff spot and knocking the Ravens out of the playoffs. We get our top WR back and have a home playoff game next week in a wide-open AFC. We expect Tomlin to win a playoff game and he has another chance. I'm pumped and I have hope this team can get it done. Why? Because we are actually playing.

Is another blowout loss possible? Absolutely. Defense travels in January and Houston has one of the best in the league. I'll worry about that if it happens on Monday night after after. Until then, I'm hyped for the playoffs.

Exactly. I complain about not having a playoff win and now they have an opportunity to have a playoff win. So I will wait and see how it transpires.

I expect nothing short of a playoff victory and will watch with excitement until it no longer is that.

Mike has yet another opportunity to prove his doubters wrong. The Steelers will be the underdog at home, now prove that label and most of our labels are incorrect.

Oh, bullshiit.
2 likes, one of which from SteelerinLebanon who will tell you sh*t smells like pansies , vs 13 for what I said. Lol.

I'm with you Mad, so much so that I didn't watch the game, not one second. Wifey watched "When calls the heart" as I sat on the couch filling my gut with bourbon playing scrabble on my phone.

When I was stationed in England, my wife and I would pull out the sleeper sofa in the living room and wake up at 2am to watch the Steelers on a Monday night game. I'd head to the base after the game tired as ****. We loved our Steelers and seeing "home" as the blimp hovered over the Pittsburgh skyline filled our hearts.

This isn't the Pittsburgh Steelers. This Defense isn't feared...it's laughed at mockingly in podcasts. This offense is a patch work of geriatric patients past their prime trying to find one more championship before retiring to the Bocce courts. Does that sound like a representation of the city of Pittsburgh? Of it's people? of it's very culture?
i totally understand your feeling. BUT.

You cheated yourself missing that 2nd half last night.

My one friend missed the whole season. He goes for drives Sunday etc. Yeah I understand his stance too but yeah that was a good game to watch for sure…
