Secretary of State Rex Tillerson wrote in a letter to nine nonprofit groups this week that the U.S. will leave the U.N. Human Rights Council unless the organization undertakes "considerable reform."

The UNHRC may be the silliest organization in the U.N. To allow countries like Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, and China to sit in judgment on any country's human rights record is beyond absurd. Somehow, the UNHRC never gets around to examining the human rights record of most of those states and, instead, concentrates its fire on the U.S. and Israel – two of the most liberal, tolerant democracies in the world.

The Trump administration is looking at the entire U.S. contribution to the U.N. and will demand reforms across the board. Enough is enough. Finally, an administration in Washington is willing to stand up to the international thugs, the hypocrites, and the cynical manipulators at the U.N., who, as a matter of course, oppose U.S. policies.

Currently, the U.S. funds about 22% of the U.N.'s budget

No More Gravy Train for the United Nations

Trump administration contemplates 50% reduction in U.S. funding.

Bureaucrats and diplomats at the United Nations are scrambling to adjust to the new Trump administration. One thing seems certain. The Obama days of wine and roses for the UN are over.

The Trump administration is reportedly laying the groundwork for cuts of at least 50% to U.S. funding for United Nations programs. U.S. diplomats warned key UN member states to “expect a big financial restraint” on American spending at the UN at a meeting earlier this month in New York City, according to sources cited by Foreign Policy.

The United States spent nearly $10 billion in total on the United Nations in 2015 alone, based on available data. This includes U.S. payment of 22 % of the UN’s regular budget and about 28.5% of its peacekeeping budget, which together add up to over $3 billion annually. The U.S. has contributed billions of dollars more in voluntary donations to various UN agencies, programs and flash humanitarian appeals. Based on available 2015 data, cutting just the U.S. voluntary contributions by 40 % would save about $2.7 billion a year.

GOP senators ask Tillerson to probe US funding of Soros groups abroad

Republican senators are asking Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to investigate claims that U.S. taxpayer money is being used to back left-wing billionaire George Soros' political meddling and similar efforts overseas.

A letter sent Tuesday asked for a probe into how U.S. funds are being used by agencies such as the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to back left-wing political groups in other countries.

Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, one of the co-signers, even said foreign officials and political leaders have come to him with "reports of U.S. activity in their respective countries."

He said in a statement: "This includes reports of diplomats playing political favorites, USAID funds supporting extreme and sometimes violent political activists, and the US Government working

And the irony of 21 wondering what Tillerman is doing, in a thread noting that Tillerman just notified the UN Human Rights Commission that it better make reforms or see the U.S. tell it to **** off, and is in the process of saving the taxpayers billions on that joke of an organization.

What's he doing? You mean besides taking steps to neutralize that idiotic Human Rights Commission, which has nary a bad word for ******* China and its countless political prisoners, or North Korea and its political prisoners and crazy dictator, or Saudi Arabia, or Cuba, or Venezuela.

Some recent highlights for the UNHRC:

In September 2015, Faisal bin Hassan Trad, Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the UN in Geneva, has been elected Chair of the United Nations Human Rights Council panel that appoints independent experts. UN Watch executive director Hillel Neuer said: "It is scandalous that the UN chose a country that has beheaded more people this year than ISIS to be head of a key human rights panel."

Human rights groups say the council is being controlled by some Middle East and African nations, supported by China, Russia and Cuba, which protect each other from criticism. This drew criticism from the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon at the ineffectiveness of the council, saying it had fallen short of its obligations. He urged countries to 'drop rhetoric' and rise above "partisan posturing and regional divides" and get on with defending people around the world. This follows criticism since the council was set up, where Israel has been condemned on most occasions and other incidences in the world such as Darfur, Tibet, North Korea, and Zimbabwe have not been discussed at the council. Ban Ki-Moon also appealed for the United States to fully join the council and play a more active role. The UNHRC was criticized in 2009 for adopting a resolution submitted by Sri Lanka praising its conduct in Vanni that year, ignoring pleas for an international war crimes investigation.

He's staying as far away from that 500 billion dollar deal involving Exxon and Russia( Yes old Rex is still holding stock...did you expect anything less?) till things "cool off". That's not going to happen of course.

In other news: HUD Uncle Tom Carson is busy doing what cuckservatives always accuse progressives of: altering the language in a way that's more conducive to their beliefs.

Yes " Involuntary Immigrants" for SLAVES. To call him Uncle Tom is really insulting to Uncle Toms everywhere........this guy is so F***** in the head and such a sellout....don't get me started.

Yup...The Elftard is jealous of a smart, rich black man.

Is that what Elftard's black name was, Ferrous Steel? Please confirm.

Dave confirmed the IP address link between the Elftard's accounts and that one but I'd forgotten the name.
