I agree but I find it funny that we have a ton of fire Tomlin threads and no fire Colbert threads. He’s under performed as a GM as well but nobody cares to even admit it.
Are you agreeing with yourself? lulz

I want him to succeed. i want to win. After the latest debacle in against the Chargers, I wonder will he ever learn?
Will we ever learn?
Bullshit. Rooney said that steered the conversation back to Ben and that it was a group pick. But don't let the facts get into your way. Also please show me the great QB that could have been drafted... just one. It should be easy right?
Pretty sure that is the equivalent of liking your own posts on facebook.
SORRY ark, that argument isn't what's being compared. Compare BEN's time with Cowher as to Ben's time with CMVLT. Nothing before and in clwher's case nothing after. Steelers 12 put up good numbers and makes a very valid point. The before Ben w/Cowher is irrelevent as to when BEN is gone TOMLIN's time can't be argued yet.
Cowher's time > Tomlin's time
Salute the nation
Six AFC Championships in 15 years. Tomlin needs to make it three times in the next four years to match that.
Cute
But it IS what is being compared. Cowher, finally, got a QB and won the SB. A SB that was a "group decision", when Rooney told them it was.
The TEAM won a SB and playoff games. Not Ben, not Cowher's D, the Team. That amazing team, the next year, went 8-8 because it was missing one player. Why? They didn't just not win the SB, they didn't even make the playoffs. Did Cowher forget how to coach? Did those cowher players forget how to play? They won another SB, but someone had to coach them there, they were not pre-ordained to win another SB.
That is why the "Cowher's players: **** is just that, ****. Those players did not win a SB until Rooney told them they were making a "group decision" to draft Ben.
Why didn't he have a better QB over all of those years, than he had.
accurate...you actually replied to yourself to agree with yourself, now THAT is cute.
It’s called a mistake and I’m sure you are the type of person who thinks you don’t make any and know it all. It was supposed to be in reply to slash making a comment about Tomlin deserves half the blame.
do we really have a great OLine?
Bell pulled up lame in the AFCCG, too.

There weren't any QBs, go back and look at where we drafted and what QBs were there. Colleges weren't running as many pro offenses then, the NFL wasn't pass happy and all the rules geared towards offense, so you didn't have QBs able to just step in right away and play. But it IS what is being compared. Yeah, "group decision". Cowher : "What about this guy?" Rooney "We need to take Ben". Cowher: "OK"...lol
Stick with reading comprehension. I said "better", not great.
Are you telling me over Cowher's tenure, there was no decent QB available or, at least, better than Kent Graham or Jim Miller? Maybe, a Drew Brees or some slacker like that?
it, actually, is easy. What QB's were signed the year we signed Kent Graham? I know one of those has a SB ring....
but we're a few weeks past week 12

When Ben hangs up his cleats, all of Tomlin's apologists will get to see just how awful of a coach he really is. I can guarantee you that Tomlin could not have the same results that Cowher had with the roster he had to do it with. Tomlin can't even sniff a SB now with a HOF QB, a great OL, 2 pro-bowl receivers, and a great RB (Bell up thru last year). Why, because the #1 defense he inherited has turned to absolute **** under his watch as we try to run his vastly overrated Cover-2 defense. But Tomlin gets no blame for continuing to run a defensive scheme that is beyond unsuccessful.
Really, Tomlin gets no blame? Do you not read the board? I don't get the "tomlin couldn't do it with the same roster". How do you know? Cowher didn't HAVE to do it with that roster, either. He helped put together that roster and is just as responsible for not getting over the hump into the SB that Tomlin is. When teams could play Defense, you didn't need a HoF QB. you needed QB's better than people like Kent Graham, Jim Miller and Mike Tomszack.
You still needed a top notch QB because teams were allowed to play defense, it was harder to throw then. Aikmanx3 Young, Favre, Elwayx2, Warner. The QBs that won Super Bowls in the 90's after Cowher took over, looks like a HOF list to me.Really, Tomlin gets no blame? Do you not read the board?
