That’s just it. They’re paid regardless of outcome of the game. It’s all lip service to keep fan interest. Winning a ring doesn’t mean much anymore when you’re making $20-$30 million a year.It just doesn't happen. I only see a few guys giving it their all and are fundamentally sound. Roberts No. 50 is one of those guys.
I see a lot of whiffs, half efforts or no efforts, out of place undisciplined garbage. They do just enough when they have to.
I no longer believe anything the coaches say when they speak of objectives. The actions clearly show this isn't the case.
Nobody wants to go above and beyond what they absolutely have to do.
I think of all of the men who came before them who did the job for basically peanuts. These guys have a payroll every year in the hundreds of millions of dollars and they do much less and still ******* complain.
Just put in perspective. Say you make even just $10 million a year. That’s still a **** ton of money. You think these guys want to continue playing playoff football in cold *** KC or Buffalo? I bet majority of these guys would rather be on vacation in Cancun or some sunny beach with that money.
I do believe there are still players who play for pride because that’s a lot of physical work and a privilege to play at that level. But with the amount of money guaranteed it’s probably a few players who have that mindset
