Tomlin Sucks

Just a mediocre team with a mediocre coach, nothing more. Some very good players, but not enough. Maybe we'll get lucky sometimes, but not really a contender. Been the story for a while.
Lots of mediocre posters here as well. All they have left are personal attacks and sarcastic emojis as they can't defend the loser coach that they worship. Wine and cheese fans, regular season fans, DEI fans..............LOSERS.

Tomlin gets out coached again. What else is new! His game plan is really bad. He is allowing Arthur Smith's (AKA matt Canada 2.0) offence to play like a little team. No changes. T Austin blows as a DC. This is what happens with dei hire. Everyone gets open.
The NFL was the ultimate DEI hire business for decades...only it was incompetent white guys back then.
Take your racist **** elsewhere.

And how much longer will it take us to figure out that is ALL he is gonna win us? Another 10 years?

So you're saying you were as shocked as I was last week to learn that Mike Tomlin has NEVER HAD A LOSING SEASON? You an NFL team that wants to squeeze out 9 or 10 wins and a likely 1st round playoff blowout? Tomlin your coach?!?!?

200.gif

Oh he blinked, alright...he was blinkin' to the beat of his favorite song underneath them cool shades:

Oh he gave his official report that his team wasn't "executing" well enough. As if it's some kind of mystery. His team apparently has tackling and turnover problems. I guess the team missed the memo on those. Moving on......

How is what he said "racist"?
He is saying Austin is a DEI hire. I do not think Austin is a great coach, but he has been around for a long time in coaching. To say he is a DEI hire is to say the only reason he was hired was because he is black...and that sounds racist. Jeff Saturday was hired to be the head coach of the colts with no college or NFL coaching experience...what does that sound like to you? In the old days it was called The Good Ol Boy Network. Some people call it DEI now as a racist term directed at POC regardless if they were a quota hire or not. And that's racist bullshit.

I'm not a Tomlin defender by any stretch, but remember the Dolphins didn't hire him because he was "Too hip hop." What is that?

I agree with the topic. TOMLIN SUCKS!
I’ve tried to give this guy the benefit of the doubt but I’m ******* done.,Team needs a new direction and he should be the first to go,
I keep saying, wash, rinse, repeat. Same **** new season. Year after year after year.
Since 2011 it’s been the same ****.

Please. Elaborate for us.
Now if he had said Tomlin was a DEI hire It would really be hard for us to tell. Did the Rooneys hire him to not look like hypocrites as they were not walking the walk when it came to the rule named after them? I don't know because maybe he did have the best interview and they thought he was a good fit...I know his defensive coaching record in Minnesota was not that great. I would have gone with Whisenhunt personally.

Whatever the reason I can say without being racist myself is that because of the political environment we are talking about they painted themselves into a corner with him.. and now we are all stuck with him.

He plays caveman ball which is successful against certain types of teams but if other team has an answer you can forget it. And he has no feel for hot hands. He kept Harris in there when anyone and I mean anyone couod see not too.
Also doesn’t know when to use a timeout, doesn’t know when to or not to challenge, doesn’t know a
lick about load management for players, has little knowledge of schemes to emphasize our players strengths or opponents weaknesses, can’t assemble a proper staff (likely due to micromanagement)

Dude has more flaws in his game than strengths…sure he’s a real cheerleader a real player’s coach…slow 👏

17 years in with little to no growth

But I’m sure the growth spurt and lightbulb moment are just around the corner

Lets not be dramatic

He’s literally got me to the point where I’m about to take a Steeler vacation and go be a Lion’s fan until he’s gone.

It’s insane to keep wasting time on this **** product

The irony is that as a HC and postseason record he turned out to be Martyball 2.0 channeling the most Midwestern White Guy ever hellbent on winning 18-16 and imposing his will by shortening the game.

Minus one season, Austin has sucked everywhere he has been as DC. He has no track record of success.

Jeff Saturday was a monumentally stupid hire, as he had no qualifications for the job.

To me, both are good ol boy network hires, just of a different network.

Gentleman, I was overly invovled/obsessed with this product for 50 years, I gave up 8 years ago because the Rooney rule will never get us to the big show, so stop. It won’t happen, sorry

Yeah it's possible, but to declare like that poster did that it was a DEI hire smells fishy. Austin has been around since the early 90s(college) and has done pretty good In the NFL at times.

2003-06: (with Seattle) Played a key role in the developmentof the Seahawks’ young secondary, which was comprisedmostly of draft choices...Mentoring CB Marcus Trufant (firstround, 2003), S Ken Hamlin (second round, 2003), S MichaelBoulware (second round, 2004) and CB Kelly Jennings (firstround, 2006), Seattle produced 67 INTs during Austin’s fourseasons, tying for the NFL’s 10th most in that span.

2007-09: (with rizona) 2009: Three DBs earned the ProBowl: CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, S Antrel Rolleand S Adrian Wilson. 2008: Mentored 2008 first-round pickRodgers-Cromartie, who led the Cardinals with 4 INTs inthe regular season and added 2 more in the playoffs duringArizona’s run to Super Bowl XLIII. 2007: Austin’s secondaryhelped the Cardinals lead the NFL in INT-TDs (6) and in returnyardage (551).2

2011-12: (with altimore) 2012: In his second season withthe Ravens’ staff, Baltimore was stout in the red zone withthe defensive unit permitting a 43.4-percent touchdownefficiency mark, ranking as the NFL’s second-best figure...SEd Reed, whose 61 career interceptions are first amongactive players (10th best all time), set the NFL mark with his1,541 career interception return yards...Reed hauled in hisninth-career postseason theft in Super Bowl XLVII, giving himthe most among active NFL players and tying (three differentplayers) for most of all time...Under Austin’s tutelage, Reedand CB Cary Williams led the Ravens with four interceptionseach...Reed earned his ninth career Pro Bowl nod. 2011: InAustin’s first year guiding the secondary, the Ravens allowedthe NFL’s fewest passing TDs with 11 (Jets were second at 15)...Defense allowed the third-fewest points (16.6 ppg) in theNFL for the fourth-consecutive season, tying an NFL recordof being in the Top 3.2

Those are also 3 Super Bowl appearing teams while he was in those places.

We have at least two more seasons with Tomlin as his money is guaranteed.

Rooney is not going to pay him $32 million over the next two years to sit at home or work for a TV network.

It seems like a pretty poor investment, given the lackluster results have been constant and predictable for years now, but it's not my money.
Nothing wrong with trading him and his contract
( like they ever would )

As DC, my guy lasted two years with the Lions, going from top 5 defense to something much worse, lasted 10 months as DC of the Bengals, giving up over 500 yards in three straight games for the first time in NFL history, and was subsequently hired as Steelers secondary coach and later promoted to DC based on nothing substantial. Guy might be a decent position coach, but he has a track record of failure as a DC in the NFL.

Worst of it. They ****** got me. I didn't see a SB but I thought they turned the corner to be a legit contender and team to be proud of. Instead they tucked tail and ended the same bullshit. The media had Tomlin as COTY. Well where are those voices now?

Searching deeply for new excuses to the same old problems.
