For the past 3 years I have seen this team lose to teams with far less talent (Oakland, Miami, Cleveland, etc). For the past 3 years I have seen this team come out flat, come out uninspired, physically get out-played, and get out-coached.

This Sunday I believe our season turns for the better or for the worse. Nationally televised game against an elite AFC team with an elite QB, at home, with possibly huge playoff implications for us. We either go to 5-3 or continue our trend of .500 football. Tomlin, this is when good coaches rise above. Tomlin, these are the games that coaching can win simply by making adjustments, inspiring your troops (as we hear you say constantly), and game planning. Tomlin, these are the games where seasons and teams can gain momentum and ride that momentum into the playoffs.

Tomlin, in my eyes, as a fan who has seen mediocrity from you and your staff for 3 seasons, this is it. This is your last chance. Have your players prepared, have a plan of attack, and inspire your men. This season I started jumping on the band wagon that your the problem...prove me wrong. Just once....prove us all wrong.

Tomlin aside (I've felt he needs to go for years now), it's not just Sunday's game, but next week's game against the Ravens as well, that constitue a pivotal point for the franchise.

I'm expecting them to get killed, but am hoping for the best.

The Ravens game is important, no doubt, first place team in our division. I just feel that game loses alot of its luster if we cant win this week. A loss this week and back to 4 and 4. With 8 games remaining we could probably only lose 2 more and finish at 10-6 to get in, maybe 3 to get int at 9-7, but I doubt it. This week's game is huge and would do wonders for this team's confidence. I think a win this week, gain some momentum and confidence, and we take care of business against Baltimore and its a whole new season with Jets and Titans coming up on the schedule.

With that being said, Titans and Jets coming up on the schedule, years ago, thats 2 W's. With Tomlin...ugh!

Exactly my thoughts as well. I keep hoping that he will make the leap from being a guy on the sidelines to a coach but he does not seem to be doing it. I do think he has improved a bit over what he was when he got here, but at the rate he is going not sure if he ever goes to the next level.

He was not a good choice to be a head coach, unqualified and inexperienced, now he is inept and experienced.

Honestly believe this is the make or break game of the season....a loss will speak volumes about Tomlin and his resume. A win, IMO, will make things better, but he needs to follow that up with multiple wins. A good coach eventually gets it right. He eventually reaches his team and strings together wins despite adversity. With the up-coming schedule, starting Sunday, this is Tomlin's opportunity to shine. The Rooney's should pay close attention to the next 4 games. I think Tomlin's future will and should depend on it.

I agree as to this game, but why would this game be any different to an unprepared, undisciplined, low hearted team / coaching staff? That is the QUESTION, as to what separates this one from the last one? I'm on the wagon of wanting, wishing, hoping, rooting for my beloved STEELERS, just don't expect sudden overnight changes, as welcomed as they would be. PROVE ME WRONG coach.

You guys make it sound like we're 10 point underdogs.

The line right now is only 3. The money line says it's a 60%-40% chance the Colts win.

That's not outrageous. I'm not optimistic, but Tomlin has pulled these types of games at home out of his *** before.

True. Home teams gets 3 so they're really 6 point favorites. I would have expected more but the Colts have won their last 5 so it could be that Vegas is figuring that they're due. Colts are good but not THAT good and they have to lose sometime.

True dat. Usually after the season is lost and it only serves to lower their draft spot.

I know the line is +3, but what was it for the Browns game? I could see Luck scoring a lot of points quickly. Not saying he will, but would it really surprise anyone at this point?

I picked 30-20 Colts. I'm not trying to sugar coat anything.

But I'm just saying it's closer to a coin flip game than most here want to admit.

Who knows. That's why you suit up and play.

I fully agree, THATS WHY WE PLAY THE GAME!!!!! I want the STEELERS to win, nail biter or by a bunch. What ever draws the TEAM closer, both in confidence & personal.

They are not going to fire Tomlin after this season. Even if we lose the rest of our games the Rooney's will throw someone else under the bus but it won't be captain cool shades. As a matter of fact does he not have only one year left on his contract after this season? Don't be surprised to see him extended.

They will make someone other than Tomlin the sacrificial lamb here. It could be Colbert who I've been saying for years got more credit than he deserved because I firmly believe Cowher made most of the player personnel decisions with the draft and F/A. Just look at the last 8 drafts and the F?A acquisitions. No comparison to when Cowher was here.

Sunday is not his last chance and the Ravens game is far more important. Even before the year started, this game was not looking good even for the most optimistic. I think we have a chance, but Luck is darn good and they have a decent defense. I'm tired of the Ravens playing better than us.

Ohhh surprise............Another GODDAMN head coach bashing thread !!!!...........what the **** people ??!!!. I mean jeeezus mutherfuckin CHRIST !!!! **** is old as Unitas cleats.

The Steelers have been hammered by good QBs for years now. They beat GB last year without Rodgers but the pats* dropped 55 on them with Brady. I can't think of the last top 10 QB the Steelers beat. I guess Stafford? He dropped 27 on them but they did win. Last year they beat Gino Smith, Joe Flacco, EJ Manuel, Brandon Weeden, Dalton, Flynn, and Jason Campbell. The only good QB they beaten this year is Newton and he's not a top QB in my mind anyway. Luck will be their first top QB they've played this year.

What's old is bad coaching, mediocre uninspiring play , bad game planning, no in game adjustments, poor game day coaching, bug eyed laconic stupidity from coach cool shades, underachieving and being 20-20 in our last 40 games

we have a crap head coach and no real plan/identity for our favorite football team, you don't think it's going to come up in conversations? Should we catalogue prior discussions and check the expiration date on those discussions before that topic can be brought up in present-day and future discussions?

I mean, Jeeeeeeezus Christ and stuff, bro!

Hey! Tomlin, just got here, give him a chance!

.......Did I mention I just woke up from a coma that started in 2009?

How many times is enough ? Repeating the same old tired as lines, day after day, week after week and its the SAME FOLKS spouting the SAME LINES....There was a horse, that became bone, thats not degraded to powder from all the beating ...and now we see powder pounding. Horse is dead.....BEEN DEAD!!!

Fans cant fire coaches...never have been able to. Owners fire coaches or coaches resign.

This is just a ****** spoiled bunch of hemorraghing vaginas we have here. Instead of enjoying the season of football (its entertainment, not a ****** lifestyle/job) watching young players grow and transition, while we watch the chase, we *****...***** after losses, ***** after wins (although its less during the latter). We could win another super bowl this year or next and theyll still want him fired. Ive never seen a forum following like this.

at one time I was a wait and see

but I have to agree now, and the seasons trend has shown really not to expect much

and personally I go into games hoping to enjoy them

but painful to watch football has cluttered up the big screen this year

and I see no end in sight

go Steelers!
