Trade ben now!!!!

He's got at least 1 more super bowl win left in him. No.7 for 7 would cement him in the HOF. Here is to him retiring a Steeler, unlike Bradshaw who got cheered on his home field after he got hurt. That was after winning 4 super bowls. Imagine that. I remember seeing it on tv and asking my dad why people would do such a thing. I'm so glad it didn't take long to replace Bradshaw's greatness..'sarcasm'...;)

With Ben extending plays some of that is on Ben, some is on WRs not getting open, and yeah some is on the O-line.

But yeah mediocre O-lines in years past.

This one is shaping up to be a slightly better than mediocre to me.

I think the Tackles remain the weakness, and if they get a chance at a stud LT in free agency they should take it.

We don't need no stinkin' lineman, we got this guy, that's all we need.

have a pic from training camp, I am holding Bens pads, while he is signing his highschool throwback jersey...............

something to consider...
if our OL is as atrocious as some of us believe, and even worse as others want to believe, then there must be some god-awful OLs out there.

https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2014/10/08/offensive-line-rankings-2/4/

they have our OL as the 4th BEST in the league. WTF?
I'm finding it hard to believe, but this is assumingly an unbiased source.

Or maybe we're a bit "spoiled" with previous Steelers OLs and revisionist history doesn't let us remember some of the bad games/plays.

Yeah, Supe, I read that at least a month ago. Like yours, a total wtf? moment for me. Ah well, they seem to be planning around the less than stellar line play lately and hopefully are able to have continued success doing so. I just hope that should the success continue they aren't lured in to believing their ills are cured and ignore potential future upgrades.

A 6-year, $120 million contract for him is a minimum now. Might be more than any of us can even suspect.

He might set the record for the biggest contract ever.

If you listen to Tunch this past week he talked about the OL. He said they are leaving up to 8 guys in to block on some plays. They are using 2 TEs and a RB to block the initial rush then allowing them to leak out on certain plays. Both Gilbert and Beachum are getting help from the TEs especially on longer pass plays.

Finally.....so glad to have an OC that can see what Ben needs...

To all of you that were telling me how we should not even consider a trade of our quarter back for at least (pick a number I believe the high was 5 years) tell me how could we have lost to a team that usually gets beat every week this season and in fact only won two games counting the one we played. Is this that high level of play we were hearing about? Getting a score in garbage time after the game was way out of hand. Or did we just face a good team that had previously faced a string of bad luck and beat themselves for the first part of the season?

I will be surprised if Ben has much left in the tank based on the beating he has taken and the wear and tear on his body. I suspect he will have some stretches of really great games the rest of his time and some ok games and the strings of poor games will be on the rise. Still if he manages to hit one of those streaks of good games in the playoffs he could get us to another championship.
No matter what course of action we take there will be a great amount of risk involved and the risk maybe a long time at 8 and 8 and being far enough down in the draft department to fail to find talent that we need. This could be the case no matter what way we go.

Ben didn't have a great game but if you watch the film you'll see Wheaton not coming back to the ball and stopping on a route. There is nothing wrong with Ben when he is given a good game plan and WRs that don't drop passes or cut there routes off. I'd love to see Brady passing with these issues. This game was a clusterfuck of game planning. It was almost as if someone dared them to go against the Jets front 7 and they took the bait.

Ben still completed 70% of his passes for 343, I'll take that if that's a horrible game. Bryant tried to stay in the end zone instead of coming back to the ball on the first pick, rookie mistake. The second pick was a horrible throw, but Wheaton was calling for it, then quit on his route, he could've at least tried to break it up. 3 Drops and wheaton ran the wrong route twice, the second time he was pulled off the field.

I'm sorry but I don't care what his number are he was not good on any level yesterday. If you take how he played yesterday you won't win many games and that's a fact. He had as much to do with he loss as anyone.

Yep, lots of ****** quarterbacks complete 70% of their passes. Tons of them, all the time. The one pick was Bryant, period, the other was Ben listening to a WR when he shouldn't have, that one is on him, but the first one has been a touchdown with the same route. The rookie didn't come back to the ball.

But, these facts will not interest you, since they don't support the argument you want to make. That's fine, but know that you're full of ****.

There has to be a middle of the road.

Some of you need to quit protecting Ben. And, damn right a middle of the road QB can hit 70%. Especially in today's NFL. On the Wheaton throw he had Brown so wide open around the 30 he could have punted the ******' ball over there. Never looked.

On the other hand, this team is an absolute quagmire without Ben. Led by an idiot who talks up 1-8 teams like they are Super Bowl contenders, only to then game plan like they are playing 1-8 football teams. We can play it safe and win.

The gameplan was HORRIBLE. Ben had one really bad throw, and the OL didn't give him a whole lot of time. But here is what REALLY gets me. Look at Browns catches. DB's were playing 10 yards off him, and they were TRYING to run a LBer underneath. The result was easy pitch and catch. Yet we didn't target him as much as we should have. After his first catch, with the way they were "covering" him. I would have thrown 10 straight times to Brown, until they did something to stop it. Instead we kept motioning Bell to get a LBer on him, only to run him into the teeth of the D. We were feeding Wheaton, who is still making rookie mistakes reading the coverage.

When **** starts to break down, Ben needs to call a TO, walk over to Haley and say "we have the best WR in the game right now, lets use him for more than a decoy". Get rid of that close bunch to the line, **** pissed me off when Arians was here too, doesn't leave any room for the WR to do anything with the ball. You don't need a clean release when they are playing 10 yards off to begin with. The Jets were so scared to get beat deep, they kept their safeties deep the whole game. That leaves the intermediate sideline routes WIDE open. Just about ALL of Browns catches were of this variety... he should have had his third double digit catch game.

I saw it in preseason, I saw it against Balt. A slow start trying to get others involved, but when we NEEDED a score, it was Brown to the rescue. We didn't let him be superman this game.

You know what's not full of shot your man crush scored 13 points on the jets. Yeah that was a good day but hey he did complete 70% of his passes. Once again big dummy has shown he can't carry this team and until
He does and gets them in the playoffs without a top 5 scoring defense I will point it out. He had two great games and that's it
