I don’t know enough about his injury history to debate it but I think he currently is trying to come back to form from his significant injury. Will he or won’t he rebound is a legitimate question. I just am not worrying about snaps in the room. Who shows capable gets them.If one was unimpressed with an injury prone, unproductive receiver on the decline prior to the trade are they supposed to become instantly happy once they’re part of the squad?
I’ll celebrate the move if/when he contributes in a meaningful way to a victory or two. Sure I’ll root like hell for him like I do for all the good guys, but just because a desperation move was made and a JAG was acquired isn’t enough to make me think this moves the needle towards a significant change in the outcome of the season.
Hope I’m wrong about his potential but I’d personally rather see CA3 not losing snaps to the likes of Mike Williams. Hopkins may have been a bit more exciting or Olave but giving away an asset for a meh rental player just doesn’t have me singing sunshine and lollipops for some reason.
We can only hope he wasn’t being used properly and our offensive gurus have the key to unlock his potential. Hope is a helluva drug.
Definitely not all sunshine and lollipops but they needed to add to the room and the pickings were slim.
Regardless if it does or doesn’t work out I hope they learn something from their offseason approach…
