I've heard that at the White House everyone who comes into contact with the President gets tested every day and their temperature checked when they enter the building.



Question. What exactly does the National Guard do in a nursing home and what is their level of infection control expertise? The National Guard and the FBI were in the very large nursing home in my county (Brighton Rehab) and more recently at another nursing home in Westmoreland County where there have been a large number of cases

They do testing, provide ppe, do training on IC and use of respirator. Things like that. Early on they helped bc of the shortages in staffing. Our industry is all ready short handed but then you add a large percent of staff out bc of sick or symptoms. Back the. It took weeks to get a test and or get results back.

This whole situation with them having the China Bat virus has made things interesting. Supporters turning out where I wouldn't imagine.

One, Walter Reed. This use to be the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. My former customer. In the 90s I was there sometimes daily. Very cool place.

Bethesda streets have been packed with supporters and he went outside the gates over the weekend to greet them all. They've been there consistently for a couple days, shouting, cheering and so forth.

Two, New York City. I had NOT heard about this one. Awesome!

After the silence, he shouted, “President Trump, we love you!” — before leading the group in chants of “USA! USA!”

• Conclusion: Wearing masks (other than N95) will not be effective at preventing SARS-CoV-2 transmission, whether worn as source control or as PPE.

• N95s protect health care workers, but are not recommended for source control transmission.

• Surgical masks are better than cloth but not very efficient at preventing emissions from infected patients. Cloth masks must be 3 layers, plus adding static electricity by rubbing with rubber glove.

• The cloth that serves as the filtration for the mask is meant to trap particles being breathed in and out. But it also serves as a barrier to air movement because it forces the air to take the path of least resistance, resulting in the aerosols going in and out at the sides of the mask.

• An August 2020 UCSF study suggested that the mask would decrease the absolute volume of the inoculum. (The concentrations of bacteria upstream and downstream of the test devices were measured with an aerodynamic size spectrometer)

My wife is working (as she has for about 8 or 9 years) in the county election office. Her immediate supervisor (who is also running for Clerk and Recorder) is a very pleasant woman who happens to lean democratic.

Anyway, my wife grabbed one of the masks provided at the entrance to the office and noticed that the box said, "Made in China". She made a light joke about it and her supervisor said, "God, I HATE it when Trump refers to it as the China Plague, people are KILLING Chinese Americans over it." When my wife relayed that to me, of course I pointed out that I hadn't heard of ANY Americans of Chinese descent being killed by enraged "whities" due to the 'Rona. I HAVE however heard of a journalist of Chinese descent being attacked by antifa goons on more than one occasion. Then I told her to tell her supervisor I prefer to call it the "Kung Flu".
