Trumps Tax bill looks like it will happen

If they pass this bill today I'm going to buy a very nice bottle of scotch tonight.

Senate to vote on final tax bill Tuesday evening

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate will vote on final tax legislation on Tuesday evening, Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell said, potentially allowing President Donald Trump to sign the bill into law as early as Wednesday.

The House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on the same legislation at 1:30 p.m. EST. If both chambers of Congress pass the bill, Trump will be able to meet his goal of signing it into law before Christmas.

I see CNN's propaganda spin that this bill is the worst thing ever is in full motion....

Every little side story, link, video, etc. is about how the bill is bad. Concentrates on all the negatives (and even the "what if" negatives) and doesn't mention any positives at all.

Our news sources suck in this country. They really do.

Drudge, Breitbart, Fox and The Daily Caller are the only honest sources that I go to regularly. Everyone else is fake news.

For House Speaker Paul Ryan, it’s the culmination of a career-long pursuit of overhauling the tax code.

“This is a day I have looked forward to for a very long time,” he said on the House floor. “Today is about how much better things can be: More jobs, fairer taxes, and bigger paychecks. Faster growth and real upward mobility. A strong economy that makes all of us stronger.”
“Today, we give the people of this country their money back,”

Damn right.

That's them on every single Trump issue since before the election. Either ignore or thoroughly minimize every positive aspect of every issue (aka, pretend that there are no positives), then write 5 articles a day focusing on every negative and plaster them all over the page. I visit the site daily......mostly for the comments sections of the articles. Pure comedy gold. Want to see some frothing at the mouth and hyperventilating? Just sit back and watch when their ideas get challenged. It's Armageddon.

My Dem friends on Facebook are losing their ****.

Distracted Democrats blew their chance to defeat tax reform bill

The tax reform bill now looks like a lock to pass Congress and be signed by President Trump.

The Democrats blew their chance to defeat this bill as they focused on long shot efforts to impeach President Trump.

Considering what's financially at stake for the Democrats from other parts of the bill, you'd think they would have done much more to get just the three Republicans they needed in the Senate to defeat it. Instead, it now looks like every Republican will vote for the bill, (except Senator John McCain who is going home to Arizona for more medical care).

Would the widespread protests like they organized earlier this year over other issues have done the trick sooner? What about more editorials and a sole focus on defeating this bill for a few weeks? We may never know. Tax reform barely got a word in edgewise recently. Even the push against the repeal of Net Neutrality got equal or better billing the last few days.

The bottom line is when President Trump signs this tax bill, the Democrats will share responsibility for letting it happen. They're just going to have to hope the voters forget about that when the 2018 midterm elections roll around.

2) in the end, the taxes on those corporations ends up being paid by the individuals anyway, doesn't it? It may not be 1-1, but I believe that the corporations are going to pass on higher taxes to the customer to the extent possible.

No! Price is based on supply vs demand. Income taxes are based on profit. Increasing prices to cover income taxes will only reduce demand and profits. You’ll pay less income taxes and it’ll be a bad thing.

I almost went with a sherry cask Arbelour that I’ve wanted to try but I ended up going with trusty old Lagavoulin.

Jim Beam tonight, I'm low budget.

Senate Passes Sweeping Tax Reform, President Trump Poised to Sign Historic Bill Into Law

By a 51-48, strictly along party lines, the US Senate has passed a GOP-backed tax reform package that will cut taxes for more than 80 percent of all Americans (raising taxes on a tiny, disproportionately wealthy fraction), benefit small businesses, and make America's extraordinarily high corporate tax rate -- both statutory and effective -- far more internationally competitive. All Democrats, including every alleged "moderate." voted 'no,' while every Republican voted 'yes.'

Yeah, ok.

So, you think we’re about to see prices drop based on the 40% reduction to corporate income taxes as that will no longer get pushed down to the consumer? Yeah, ok. Care to make a wager?

Savannah is on a heavy flow day. She's totally unhinged. When you take some money from the government and give it back to the people who earned it, the socialists scream like you gutted them with a knife. It's glorious! Not one single democrat voted for the tax cut. The party of JFK is DEAD. They are pure socialists now. The elections next year should pretty much kill them off.

So Trog, are you saying that you personally do not pay enough in income taxes? You can mail an extra check to the Treasury Department any time you like.

LOCK HER UP!

Rosie O’Donnell offered $2 million in cash to senators willing to vote against tax reform

Comedian Rosie O’Donnell in a tweet late Tuesday offered millions in cash to senators who vote against the Republican tax plan.

Her tweet called specifically on Republican Sens. Jeff Flake of Arizona and Susan Collins of Maine. Ms. O’Donnell offered $2 million to each senator to vote no. She then followed up telling Ms. Collins specifically to call if she wanted to negotiate.

Offering money to a lawmaker in exchange for changing a vote, or voting a particular way, is illegal.

Nice! I've been trying to find Pappy for years, without luck. 2 weeks ago I searched all over Lexington. A big liquor store here recently had a Pappy event that drew 5000 people. Each person got a ticket for the lottery. Only 40 people were chosen for the opportunity to buy 1 of 40 bottles.

I am not a corporation, which is what the discussion was about. Cutting taxes is fiscally irresponsible given both massive deficits and debt. Conservatives used to understand that before they were taken over by a bunch of spiteful dipshits.

Got a box of Ashton VSG's 25% off last week Chip. And I'll be using those savings to pay for the bourbon. Good times.

That's funny. You socialists love to spend recklessly like drunken sailors without any regard for the debt when Dems are in charge. Obama alone doubled it with Nothing to show for it except a stronger Iran. Now all of a sudden that Trump is in power the debt is a disastrous situation. LMAO. It really sucks to be you guys.

Nonsense, I would’ve voted for Kasich based on his stance of cutting CURRENT Medicare and Social Security benefits. You supposed conservatives and the socialists screamed bloody ******* murder and he was done.

Nobody on either side of the aisle is serious about cutting spending, don’t kid yourself.
