Tuitt Retired

He screwed us again. We could have spent the money on the defense elsewhere. I just don't get it , we all have tragedy's in our lives . But you have to keep on living.

Anyone know who is out there free agent wise? We need to try and bring in a decent veteran. One who wants to play.

I hope they planned for this but I don't really think they did. I definitely see someone being signed later during team cutdowns. They have to hope Alualu is back to where he was for another year and that the later round young guys they did draft make huge leaps and can be legit NFL starters and not gashed for 200+ yards.

Yeah because the Steelers couldn't have signed someone else or drafted someone....or simply cut him at anytime. In the end if anyone is to blame put it on the front office.

I’m with you in this. I’m so sick and tired of this poor me Tuitt drama. We all lose loved ones and tragically but as you say, life goes on. The Steelers did way more than any employer would have done for the average working guy or gal. Had he made his decision earlier we could have addressed this.
I absolutely just knew he would do something like this.

First I want to wish the man the best and hope he can find peace in his life after his horrific loss. Can't say I am overly thrilled with the timing but to be honest the FO should have known it was a possibility.

Jordan Davis woulda looked good in B & G
They would have needed a lot of black&gold to cover that frame of his..lol. Maybe we can trade the eagles something.

Well....I am sure there are going to be lots of negative replies here about Tuitt. Who really knows what type of mental state he was in. Everyone is different. Some people go out and work the next day.....some don’t. That being said,it’s hard for me to get around a young guy like that leaving that type of money on the table. After the Steelers paid him last season I feel like he kind of owed them this year. Reading between the lines it seems like his heart is not into it anymore, and he feels there is an important calling for him. Let’s hope he contributes towards a better society.
When he played well he was a beast. It’s a shame we never saw that full potential consistently.
Good luck Stephon.

The writing was all over the wall. He sold his house and moved to Indy to be with his family. He finished his degree. He was never in Pittsburgh working out. At best, he was going to be with the team for another 6 months. The Steelers should have planned for this. They obviously didn't. I hate waiting until during the preseason cutdowns to grab someone as they will have no practice in our system but that is probably what will happen unless one of our mid to late-round picks the last couple years makes that leap to be a true NFL starter. They definitely weren't proactive when it comes to the DL.

Hey. What’s really important is I just got another news flash on my phone. The Amber,Johnny verdict is in. Watch it live!

I hate both. If I was on the jury I would have them shackled together for life.

they did draft Leal. Hopefully, he exceeds expectations and learns quickly. I would expect them to bring in an older vet to fill Tuitt's void for this year.

I would think the team would have been in the know on this. I hope we are able to snag up a decent player with the cap savings. At the very least we need depth
