Well...

There are a lot of errors by Pickett in this one. His platforms and decisiveness are not good. I felt we saw a lot of progression with Kenny towards the end of last year and now it's really regressed. Some of that is a lot of this **** in these plays isn't gonna win. So you don't really trust your eyes. And again not a lot of detail by the receivers to help him win.
For sure - Kenny screws the pooch a few times. And then you see some f*cking amazing throws from him. Just "big boy" throws.

There are perhaps 5-6 videos of Pickett. And fwiw, i think Pickett missed that TD pass honestly because Canada's system DID call a f*cking square-in and it was NOT a double post. So Pickett's worm-burner pass would actually have been perfect. But alas...

I'm not too worried cause it was the same **** with Big Ben under Canada - some WTF moments. In fact most QBs on there screw the pooch once a game. Wish Kenny was Mahommes already but that's not the case.

The constant theme that gets reiterated on there is that the underlying scheme of the offense just stinks.

You give Pickett maybe another couple years with a REAL coordinator - and maybe he's not Mahommes or Brady - but he can lead you thru the playoffs.

A QB not trained by Canada or Tomlin MIGHT be able to do better, but when you are told to throw 3 yrd outs that is what you do. No idea how you think Mahomes would magically make the offense top 12. He only threw for 177 and put up 17 tonight. Mahomes is not consistently good under a lot of pressure and he would get plenty of it w/ our line. No QB is going to be good when there are consistently free rushers coming. Our offense is backwards. The slants / crosses should be our first reads. You are looking at the middle of the field and its easier to then look left or right if its not there. If you focus on an out by the time you get to the middle of the field you missed your chance at the slant / cross. I honestly dont think Kenny has the freedom to read the D pre-snap and make adjustments which is sad. If I was Pickett I would beg Tomlin to let me start the game in no huddle and call my own plays the first drive.

Thing is, you cannot throw a WR open every single play. And the route itself cannot be relied upon to open up naturally.

So you are going to have to make an angle or a leverage or a momentum that the DB already has, and make it work to your advantage. This means NOT running two routes into the same space of the field. This means running routes behind or into vacated spaces. This means running routes that make the dime or FS choose which guy he is going to trail.

Q: What gives you confidence that Kenny is your quarterback continuing to go forward?

Mike Tomlin: "Because I work with him every day and I've been really transparent with you guys about him and his willingness to work. And my experience and what that tells me. This guy will do anything and everything. He works extremely hard and just saw him a few minutes ago in the building. There's a such thing as football justice, man. Those guys usually get what they're looking for. And so that's why I remain consistently optimistic about the trajectory of his growth and development."

Am I reading too much into this or is Tomlin’s horse hitched to the Kenny wagon? Meaning if Kenny doesn’t develop does that mean Tomlin might be given his walking papers. Or am I just reading too much into this…

You are reading too much into it. We should find someone to compare Kenny to, to pass time until Sunday.

Dude, THIS is what bothers you? THIS?

Yeah I have an issue with people that just make **** up, and then spew it like fact. A simple Google search and you would have seen that you were wrong, but you came on here and said what you said.

There's enough issues with the team and Pickett, and then you say that...it's a coach type of comment.

Sounds like a personal issue.
I said what I said. And I meant it. Tell ya what. Your issue doesn't phase me one little bit. But you can rant on about it if you want. Of course, continuing to harp on something and letting it gnaw at you when it's really inconsequential, well that's just ..... ;)

Now if Austin doesn't block the crossing DB, then Diontae gets decapitated.

That CB isn't touching DJ, IMO. Way too much forward momentum moving away from Johnson.

Is not gnawing at me, you keep posting about it too. So I'll keep responding in turn. It's how discussion boards work. Funny how that goes...

For Christ’s sake, Trent Dilfer won a fukin Super Bowl

I think a break down of Kenny’s throw to TEs in correlation to Mike Tomlin’s career and experience of the TE position. I’d prefer an analytical approach………. Know any poster here I could contact and solicit something of that nature…… ?
