This is about it right here. Canada's offense limits a quarterback on top of Tomlin's emphasis of not turning the ball over is more important than scoring points. However, Pickett isn't executing within Canada's offense either. It's not even asking for a lot, but maybe 3-4 passes a game he's missing. That increases his total from 0 TDs per game to 1 TD per game and pushes his passing yards to over 175 yards per game. I had Pickett at 16-18 passing TDs and 3-4 rushing TDs. That would've demonstrated positive growth and the Steelers would be in business with that type of production.I have, huh. I guess you’ve missed all the posts where I have blasted Canada, Tomlin, Art etc. Canada’s offense is vanilla and basic. But Kenny still can’t run it. He is late on throws, he can’t read zone, he is inaccurate, he isn’t running this basic offense correctly. What do you think would happen if he was put into Andy Reid’s or Mike McDaniel’s offense? His head would. If we had a top 20 passing game we could make some noise. We are ranked 31st at 170 per game. All we need is 200+ a game. If we had a QB that could average 225 and 2/1 we’d actually have a shot at the Super Bowl. That would out us at 17th. And that’s probably about the best this Canada offense could actually do.
No I'M agreeing with you. I'm saying when he had the right x,o guys he was good. He can't get them now because he chooses. Player's apparently want to play for him. Coaches do not. My guess they see as dead end from his track record of coaching tree.Again, You are assuming that Tomlin had 100% decision making responsibilities, during the first few years with Cowher’s team. I don’t happen to believe this. It was VERY apparent that the first few years Tomlin was required to learn on the job. He was given coaches to learn from. Do you really think Tomlin was able to tell Dick Lebeau how to run the D? These issues started as Tomlin was given progressively more control.
You can give apprentices the best training by the best mentors, but that doesn’t mean you are going to create the best individual. I believe that the Steelers saw promise in a VERY young and inexperienced coach. I also believe they were going to give him a chance with all the backing they had to offer. He just didn’t rise to the level that I personally would like. I believe that he is at best an above average, ( B to B+ if you will) coach. Someone that will win you games, but not someone who will win you championships.
Coached my kids in flag football in elementary, middle school football and now high school. I was a QB and safety in high school and received a partial scholarship to play division III football. Im not an NFL level coach or talent evaluator but I would say I am probably ahead of your average football fan.Honest question - Have YOU actually coached any sport at any level in your life?
LikeYOU make a lot off unqualified assumptions in your posts.
Kenny Pickett is trying to give them what they are asking in a High School offense. Put Mitch or Rudolph on. See how the **** that looks. No one is open because they limit the parts of the field used and the route concepts are stupid.
but I would say I am probably ahead of your average football fan.
exactly this. And those route concepts can only come open if the WR runs himself open, out of range of the man/zone/cloud coverage.
Kenny cannot be responsible for this. He's a damn good quarterback but he's not super-human.

Pickett has time to make this throw. And someone was on here today with video of Pickett missing DJ on the cross. He neglected to mention the insta pressure on the three step drop. This dudes video shows the offenses best night and essentially everyone is plastered every damn play. Why....cause it's too simple.
Pickett has time to make this throw.
Ok, fair enough. Some of your positions led me to believe differently.Coached my kids in flag football in elementary, middle school football and now high school. Pause it at 8 seconds. He ball should be coming out. Seriously, who doesn't make that throw? Mac Jones? Zach Wilson? Bryce Young? That may be the list.Holy **** you are the guy. On both those plays the pressure comes into his face before he can set. I want you to watch all of the Sullivan video with the real good camera angles and tell me how those concepts are getting people open. And again that was best night and those are the good plays.

Received a partial scholarship isn't the same as playing college football. Odd choice of words there. I suspect to balloon up the background.Ok, fair enough. Some of your positions led me to believe differently.
That was a miss. A bad one.Pause it at 8 seconds. He ball should be coming out. Seriously, who doesn't make that throw? Mac Jones? Zach Wilson? Bryce Young? That may be the list.
Well I just watched Patrick Mahomes make a **** read on an int in the red zone. If the pocket was clean you have a good point on one play. I've seen Ben Roethlisberger not see guys who were standing alone by 7 yards. Now did you watch the other video against the Raiders?Pause it at 8 seconds. He ball should be coming out. Seriously, who doesn't make that throw? Mac Jones? Zach Wilson? Bryce Young? That may be the list.
So I watched it like 30 times. I wanna know when you think the ball should be out. There is a guy trailing the over route who us passing his man to the safety. If that's DJ he either gets lit by the corner or that guy makes a ball play. So if you are talking about when he crosses that guys face.....the pressure breaks through at that instant.Pause it at 8 seconds. He ball should be coming out. Seriously, who doesn't make that throw? Are we watching the same play? Pickett's feet are set and Johnson is absolutely wide open. Pickett can step up and make a play in the face of pressure. Is our standard for QB play this low that we can expect a QB to make a play?So I watched it like 30 times. I wanna know when you think the ball should be out. What window. Before or after he crosses the dbs face. What window? When he is between the hash or past. Because if you want him in the first window why do you bring the over route into it in the first place? It was cover 1 single high safety. If the over route just runs his guy out then yes he is wide open. The over route brought his guy into play for sure. Are we watching the same play? aahahahaI feel.like if this guy was sitting down with Matt Canada and Mike Tomlin and breaking down film they would look like short bus riders.
Now I know that you're officially full of shlt.
