Well...

Kenny looks like $hit, but who doesn't? Maybe Jaylen should start getting some snaps at QB, and I'm actually kinda shocked that our OC hasn't thought of that yet.

Pickett has time to make this throw.

He does. And he doesn't.

This is the difference between being prudent and being a f*cking dart-throwing cowboy all the way, ala way Favre used to throw ****. <his career ended in an absolutely heart-breaking interception btw>

Picket most-likely looks straight down 2 mafakus coming right at him and says to himself that orange guy in the middle of the field is too much of a risk. regardless.

Pickett is probably NOT advanced enough to have anticipated that the outside corner is playing deep cloud coverage and going to pass-off the WR to the inside safety.

In the end - Pickett makes the safe, prudent decision. if not on accident.

But he coulda ripped dat fucka in there like Favre. Coulda worked, I don't know.

Pause it at 8 seconds. He ball should be coming out. Seriously, who doesn't make that throw? Mac Jones? Zach Wilson? Bryce Young? That may be the list.
Kenny has a habit of holding on to the ball and letting the play develop. especially when its not likely to get a first down.

Now if KP let's this one go at 8, then crossing DB prolly gets blocked by our guy and the ball most likely gets completed but there is a big hit absorbed from the safety.

Now if Austin doesn't block the crossing DB, then Diontae gets decapitated.

it's risky business.
But for my money, i'd tell KP not worry about his sorry-*** WRs cause they haven't done a damn thing for him lately. LoL

Facts and Problems: there are many more
1. Kenny has an OC that made a HOF QB look like dog**** until the 2 minute drill. Sound similar?
2. Fear of turn overs. Think about this, geniuses, 3 and out with an inconsistent punter wingin' it for 30yds is the same as a medium depth INT! 3 and out to beat the band.
3. The O-line looks like the cowgirls for the most part during passing downs.
4. Take all the rules and limitations off, figure out what kind of "players" you have.

Salute the nation :flag:

I still cant believe people are blaming Pickett for the offense. First Ben was too old and not mobile enough for Canada. Then Mitch was a bum we never should have signed. Then we have Mason who did the same, now Pickett is a first round bust. Im not saying Pickett is the next Dan Marino and he is not missing throws, but we are not making it easy. Teams figured out the Pickens back shoulder which was 90% of our offense. Our offense consists of the back shoulder or dumping it off to Warren and hoping for a miracle. You could put any QB in the league in this offense and unless they went against coaching they would stink. The Oline also stinks at pass blocking and Pickett has happy feet. I cant blame him when you have to worry about free rushers coming. We need some kind of real offensive concepts to judge anyone on offense. When you are uncomfortable w/ the plays / scheme it is going to effect your game.
Yeah i think this is the camp i'm in too.

It's too coincidental that all 3 previous quarterbacks couldn't look 1/2 as good in this offense as KP. Years of Canada offense and we're still blaming the QB. I see KP has some real mental issues with happy feet. But i think anything else in terms of offense is gonna cure this stuff. Too much pure talent. Muth, Washington, Najee, Jaylen, Pickens.

The offense looks strikingly like Josh Allen & Diggs - no real threat to the opponent's safeties. Back them off, things will open up.

Now I know that you're officially full of shlt. Division III colleges don't award full or partial athletic scholarships.

Care to dispute that FACT?

Athletic Scholarships

Athletic scholarships are available for all sports programs offered at Bethel University. Scholarship amounts vary in amount and are determined by the head coach of each sports program. A contract must be received each year. Renewal is at the discretion of the coach and athletic director. This scholarship only combines with the Cumberland Presbyterian Grant, Contiguous County Grant, and Academic Honor Scholarships.

To be fair I think it was called a merit based scholarship and you needed a 3.0 GPA or higher to qualify and the amounts varied but I think the most anyone received was like $2,000 a year. I got around a grand.

This is my full.point right here. Yes Dionte is wide open to his man in the first window. BUT. Austin's man is leaving him if that ball is out and either making a ball play or ending DJ. So if we are all talking about the second window that was a millisecond before Issac S DT was in Kenny's face. If you wanted second window when he would have been really open you need a deep drop.

“What do you think would happen if he was put into Andy Reid’s or Mike McDaniel’s offense? His head would 🤯.”

This is conjecture at best.
I was being facetious. But the fact remains Kenny is having troubles with the Canada offense which is very basic. I can’t imagine all the caveats and nuances in Reids offense. He’d be lost.

Maybe, maybe not. We don’t know, as he has not had the chance at doing that.

Do you think Ben during his last year could have handled it? Because he didn’t light things up under Canada either.

He didn’t but he didn’t light it up in 2020 with Fichtner either. And the 2021 team had one of the worst lines I think we ever saw. Ben lost his legs and arm after 2019.

I honestly don’t think this is a great passing attack. Very basic. Very vanilla. But you put Mahomes in this offense it’s a top 12 passing game. Put an average QB like Carr in there it’s 20th. Neither situation means the offense is good because if you have a Mahomes you should be top 5. If you have Carr you should be top half. But if we could get to 200-220 a game with the way this running game came on this month we could make some noise in the playoffs.

I don't give a shlt if the noted football powerhouse Bethel University in bumf**k Tennessee wants to call some sort of combination of Cumberland Presybyterian Grants and/or Contiguous County Grants an "athletic scholarship." The NCAA doesn't recognize it as such:

"While Division III schools do not offer athletics scholarships, 75 percent of Division III student-athletes receive some form of merit or need-based financial aid."

Perhaps the NCAA should look into the legality of the terms being misquoted on the Bethel University website.

It’s in Minnesota and it’s a Christian university. Again it was merit based. Commitment to school, god, team etc.

You do realize that the link which YOU just posted says:

"College is one of life’s great beginnings. Begin at Bethel University. We are a private, Christ-centered, 4-year university. Our main campus is located in the welcoming community of McKenzie, Tennessee, where a dedicated group of faculty and staff are ready to help you become you."

OK. So you got a D3 football scholarship from a Tennessee Christian university with a satellite campus in Minnesota.

My bad...lol.

A QB not trained by Canada or Tomlin MIGHT be able to do better, but when you are told to throw 3 yrd outs that is what you do. No idea how you think Mahomes would magically make the offense top 12. He only threw for 177 and put up 17 tonight. Mahomes is not consistently good under a lot of pressure and he would get plenty of it w/ our line. No QB is going to be good when there are consistently free rushers coming. Our offense is backwards. The slants / crosses should be our first reads. You are looking at the middle of the field and its easier to then look left or right if its not there. If you focus on an out by the time you get to the middle of the field you missed your chance at the slant / cross. I honestly dont think Kenny has the freedom to read the D pre-snap and make adjustments which is sad. If I was Pickett I would beg Tomlin to let me start the game in no huddle and call my own plays the first drive.

They all have satellite campuses. We played Concordia St. Paul but Concordia has a moorehead location.

I don’t think his first option is a 3 yard out every pass. Just watch the film. He misses 4-5 big plays every game. Now if this was a better offense there would be a dozen of those opportunities instead of half of that. But that said a QB that could anticipate where to throw the ball makes 3 more big plays a game than Kenny does. So in short I hate Matt Canadas offense. Have since day one. But Kenny isn’t making the plays he needs to either. And again we are in a division where Burrow and Watson are IR’d this year. Might not get an opportunity like this anytime soon. I assumed we would have no chance at the playoffs this year and figured might as well take our Lumps with Kenny and see what we have. So far we have not seen much good but somehow we are in the thick of it. Zach Wilson got benched. Mac Jones gets benched. Maybe sitting on the sidelines does him some good. Maybe Mason sparks the offense. Maybe Mason 💩 the bed. If so at least we tried something. Because we aren’t heading in the right direction if we want to make a playoff run currently. And we can’t win a Super Bowl without making the playoffs and at the end of the day that’s the goal.

See, those are both towns in Minnesota, guy. Not Tennessee. Wouldn't be odd for there to be an in-state satellite campus.

That Bethel/Concordia-St, Paul game sounds like a hell of a matchup, though.

And Augsburg has a Rochester mn location and a Minneapolis location.

Watch this one and you'll be confident of the short bus.

There are a lot of errors by Pickett in this one. His platforms and decisiveness are not good. I felt we saw a lot of progression with Kenny towards the end of last year and now it's really regressed. Some of that is a lot of this **** in these plays isn't gonna win. So you don't really trust your eyes. And again not a lot of detail by the receivers to help him win.

And I wanna be clear. I'm a Steelers fan not a Kenny Pickett fan. The run game and particular Warren is moving. If Pickett is having footwork issues and indecisive.....put Mitch or Mason in. Hell Josh Dobbs couldn't do anything in Pitt and is darling of league now. Best player plays.
