He is a corner not a WR…Pierre didn't have a defender within one mile of him. How about just make an easy catch?

No that's just st00pid. On the road up 7-0 in the first quarter backed up in your own endzone on 4th & 18. I know the Defense might not have been expecting that but cmon man.....you just gave the Redskins a TD! Tie game now the crowd is back into the game and your in their house....Just Horrible!Only because it didn't work.
Wouldn’t you save it for when you need a momentum change,a spark etc. He just let the momentum change….crowd back in the game etc.Ordinarily I'd hate that fake, but it was so wide open, this must have been something they saw on film that Wash leave the winger open. The play did work. He just dropped it. I do think you could have saved that for a punt closer to midfield though.
"I was just trying to give their offense a spark if you will. I felt at that point in the game the ebb and flow dictated we could possibly step on the gas and pull away. I wanted to give our fans the entertainment they deserve by keeping it close. Also cardiologists back in Pittsburgh a steady income stream. When all you have is red paint, cut off your eyelids....obviously."I can't wait to hear Tomlin's explanation of a Fake Punt in the shadow of your own Goal Line when you are up 7-0. Nothing like giving them 7 points!
HORRIBLE!

Have to disagree, the situation dictated that play. It was spot on in every aspect except the failure on StPieereWrong call on punt fake. Yes it would have been successful had it been caught, BUT that was a call for when you put the dagger in for the kill, not a this early in the game with a lead.
Salute the nation
90% of the people in the stands could've caught that ball.He is a corner not a WR…
The play worked, but the player did not. However, shouldn't have called that play in that situation.Only because it didn't work.
Did u miss what happened after he dropped it?Why was the fake punt a bad call? By all means, it should have worked. Pierre dropped a pass a pedestrian could catch.
He doesn’t live in his fears.I can't wait to hear Tomlin's explanation of a Fake Punt in the shadow of your own Goal Line when you are up 7-0. Nothing like giving them 7 points!

NEVER on your side of the 40 when you are winning....Football 101. That was epically stupid even if it worked. Not crazy about the decision ,but hard to criticize the fake punt too much because it was there for the taking.
