It's a small amount, but when you look at the ones that had him 3rd??? And then some have him ahead of Dan Quinn, lol, come on. What did he do that was even remotely worth of having any votes.
 
Tomlin was at the top of most coach of the year polls before the late-season slide. I guess a few of the voters still felt he earned a top vote for keeping the terrible team at 10-3 before the clock struck midnight.

It is simple, what place were we universally picked to finish in by the national media and many on here? Last place. We made a real run at the division. That earned him some praise.

We had the highest paid defense in the NFL, and were in the playoffs last season.

Yeah, Tomlin was a legitimate COY candidate through the first few months of the season, receiving widespread praise for the "courage" to switch to Russell Wilson when the team got off to a good start with Fields.

It seems a few voters either didn't hold the late season collapse against him for whatever reason, or were in a coma during that stretch.

I think the talent is chronically undervalued at beginning of season. He gets in the discussion when they "outperform" expectations. Teams adjust and he is out of the running.

Did they adjust or did we just run into better teams? Some of both, I think. I played an incredibly hard schedule down the stretch both who and when we played teams and Wilson regressed.

The Ravens and Commanders were good teams back to back. It's ok to lose 3 of thst 5. They never held a lead to my knowledge for any of the last 5 games. Part of that is what you put on tape and the other team exploits. And it's every year. Once the opponents get a bead on what they got. They just do the same **** over and over.

I think in todays population characteristic, the bottom 43% can be classified as really ****-ing dumb.

Your 12% ratio is more 70s/80s/90s type population characteristics.

Just adding in a little more accurate, if need proof……….. just stand outside any kind of public meeting / concert / sports game / etc………. Starting 15minutes before game/meeting is over…….people are exiting……… ask most cashier to count out change properly, opens up a whole new world……..

coach of the year usually goes to the coach of a team that everybody thought would suck, but then they make the playoffs. The steelers have been written off going back to Ben's last few years. Steelers make the playoffs as a wildcard and Tomlin is credited as doing a great job.
