WTF, maybe we're all just total idiots.

I believe Meyer has another year on his contract.

DK Daily Shot had a segment on that exact thing this morning. Said he signed a 1yr contract (i didn’t catch when).

In the grand scheme of things it’s very little pay. + or - of $300,000.00 and dealing with players making 10 X + more and being worried about cutting him early. His time here is de-valuing they players in both playability and monetary investment.

My take

Keeping coach Tomlin is doing so much damage to this once great franchise that it will take YEARS to bail out of it.

Winning tradition isn’t just something you can say and hope for, it is something that you BEAT into your opponents. Currently most teams want the Steelers in the 1st round of the playoffs……. It’s like a bye week. TJ Watt, a once feared player is now near harmless and easy to scheme out. George Pickens is not feared, QBs not feared, Run game no fear, you get my drift.

Flores may not have been the best HC candidate, but he sure as hellA has been the biggest mistake in letting him go over keeping Tomlin.

i think many people overreact and are too harsh on tomlin, there arent many coaches you can replace him with that are needing a job this year.

10 years later, it can't be an overreaction to expect a decent playoff run and any sense of a SB appearance expectation. We start each year knowing what the new standard is, >=.500 and a one and done beating in the 1st round.

i understand how you feel, but tell me one coach that is available that can do better?

When Tomlin was hired by the Steelers, who believed he was the best coach available?
i am sure there were more applicable coaches available in the 06 season, but i dont think that changes who can replace him and do a better job today, IJS

It’s a low bar
I’m sure there are literally 1000s of coaches that could get a team a damn playoff win in 8 years.

100s of former players
100s of college and high school coaches
100s of coordinators and position coaches
At least 1 **** flinging monkey even could

If we’re being conservative

So the logic from when Tomlin was hired does not apply now......that makes little sense, right?
We all have our opinions, but "there is no one who could do better" is clearly not true. Your opinion, sure, but not true.

maybe, or maybe a bust at HC
Do you mean like a bust with zero playoff wins in the the time the Eagles have two SBs with 3 starting QBs, two different HCs and an almost complete roster flip?

They did, twice, what you refuse to consider.

Hay Maddo, let me tell ya something here. The Pittsburgh Steelers DO NOT NEED Tomlin. They did quite well pre Tomlin and I’m pretty sure we’ll do just fine post Tomlin.
Nobody even knew who this guy was before he was hired in 2007. He better thank the Lord he works for the clueless owner Art II otherwise there is no way he would have lasted nineteen years and counting with the other 31 owners.
Prior to these coaches getting hired recently I would have been just fine replacing this fraud with the following:
Ben Johnson, Aaron Glenn, Kellen Moore for starters.
You won’t get much support here for Tomlin. Most are sick of the mediocre results.

My One armed sheeeet flinging Monkey rental business has won several SBs. Hell Bruce Ariens had one in particular that not only won him a SB, but also resurrected his coaching career.

Tomlin was at the top of most coach of the year polls before the late-season slide. I guess a few of the voters still felt he earned a top vote for keeping the terrible team at 10-3 before the clock struck midnight.
I'm thinking that people voted before the season was over.

LOL, yeah we'd rather throw away prime years of players instead. :)
Sad really. Watt will never win a playoff game here with us......Tomlin simply refuses to admit his failures and adjust....move on from a schematic failure. If Watt is smart.....he plays out his current contract and moves on after next season. I have never felt such failure here........even during the 80s. Tomlin simply continues to do the same old same old....year in and year out.....but hey. Maybe we can squeeze another Tomlinship or two out of his approach. Maybe three or four. You never know.🥴

Lol....After firing Andy Reid(probably the greatest HC of all time....arguably)...Philly then hired a HC. He sucked. Fired him. ....Then Philly hired another HC.....went to the SB. Won. Then fired him. Hired another HC. Went to the SB. Lost. Then went to another SB with that same HC and won.

It is long over due to move on from Tomlin.

i head he has never had a losing season

Really? That's amazing. He must be some sort of wizard or something.

maybe, or maybe a bust at HC
Then we simply move onto our next HC. Nothing saying we have to hold onto him for a decade plus.

Brian Flores could be a candidate.

I’d rather have an offensive minded HC, but just throwing out potential candidates.

He is finding new pioneering ways to crash and burn. That's got to count for something?

This year was exceptional .

Just has the good fortune to have both the Browns and Bengals in his division.
